Out of this world!!!! Was beyond amazing..felt like I entered heaven... Room was gorgeous and absolutely amazing and then the pools at the resort were out of this world. Best pool is near the spa! With giant waterfall.. they have great walking tracks close to everything with shuttle.. staff were amazing! Food was delicious..perfect holiday!
A perfect place to relax, with friendly staff going the extra mile at all times. We had a villa with our own pool, an amazing in- villa grill one night and wonderful couples massage and flower bath. Lots of opportunities to eat local food and some amazing cocktails at the Tree Bar. We are already saving up to visit for longer next time!
Excellent meal in a restaurant which is lacking in atmosphere. Bright lighting and stark walls, it probably looks nicer during the day when you can see the paddy fields. That said, the food was excellent. Spring rolls, calamari and Tom kha were all delicious and the fresh water fish in balinese spices was fantastic, as was the crispy duck. Great value too although they don't take cards hotel is in a wonderful location on the edge of a river gorge and is surrounded by beautiful, extensive grounds. However, when the weather is rainy - which is quite often in Ubud - there is nowhere to sit unless you stay in your room. The two swimming pools are very insta-friendly but much smaller than they look on the website with few loungers around them and even fewer umbrellas. There are no other outdoor seating areas. If you are staying in one of the bungalows, you will have your own little garden and maybe a plunge pool. You will probably have your own sunbeds and you will be very happy. If, however, you have opted for the Impressive Forest Suite, you will feel confined to quarters! The room is large and well appointed but only features a tiny balcony with no shelter from the rain. After I complained we were upgraded to a Heavenly Jacuzzi Villa (who thinks of these names??) which was absolutely lovely and completely saved our week's stay. Breakfast at the hotel is excellent but otherwise the food is average to poor. It's the same a la carte menu for lunch and dinner which features mostly 'international' fare and is limited. Portions are also quite small. The one buffet which we tried - the Mediterranean Evening - was poor. The variety was extensive but much was a tasteless approximation of European food and the wines by the glass all appeared to be out of stock! There are fabulous restaurants in Ubud so there is no reason to eat here apart from the schlep into town. This is worth mentioning. We walked into town most days but it was a good 30 mins along a very busy road with no pavements and no lighting at night. The hotel charge a ludicrous amount for a taxi into central Ubud (the same as we'd paid for a transfer across half of the island) and we couldn't get the taxi apps to work with UK phones. Also, most of the really stunning restaurants are on the opposite side of town and the traffic is so bad in the evenings that it can take over an hour to get there. If we stay in Ubud again we'll stay on the western side of town which is closer to everything. .…
I just stayed at Maya Ubud Resort & Spa. While the hotel itself is pretty, behind the scenes it is dangerous. I was stuck in the elevator for 45 minutes until another guest heard my screams. The call button in the elevator does not work and in the end I had to climb down the stairs in the elevator shaft to get out. Had I had mobility issues or any other ailment, it would have been even more dangerous. The way it was handled by the General Manager was insulting. I do not think this can be called a 5-star resort when it is so dangerous behind the scenes.
Amazing place to stay we had a villa for my Partners 50th and it was amazing. Fantastic place to stay although not alot to do after 9pm. Beautiful scenery!! Food was good at the buffet or bar area Staff friendly and couldn't do enough for you, luxury at its best
The best hotel I have ever stayed at, staff are so friendly and welcoming and happy to help whenever possible. The morning views as the mist floats across the forest are exceptional. The breakfast is plentiful and a perfect start to any day. We spent most of our time swimming in one of there infinity pools and relaxing after busy days sight seeing in Ubud. Book the romantic dinner it is so worth it!!
We were blown away from the very moment we arrived with how stunning the hotel was and how relaxed you felt instantly. A stunning spot to be in Ubud and a short way into Ubud itself. A free shuttle is available at the hotel, we often walked into the village though after 5pm as the shuttle stops and you have to pay for a taxi service. The walk is only about 15 mins. The staff are truly the heart of the hotel, they really couldn’t do more for you. I have an allergy to milk and nuts and I had my breakfast made fresh every morning. (Eggs and bacon, with fruit). Only gripe we had was the price of the cocktails in the hotel compared to local prices. Other than that I cannot fault this beautiful hotel. Thanks for the 5* Service, it was a dream.
So far this is the best place i have ever stayed. i booked Heavely Pool Villa and its really up to its name, Heavenly! I love everything about this hotel, most beautiful swimming pool, one overlooking the river and the other one is overlooking the jungle. the room is modern somehow still baliness elements. The place is old but well maintained and well kept. i think something about baliness design, the older it gets the better it looks. The staffs are wonderful. Words cant really describing this place you should stay here to experience the magical. The place is just stunning, amazing, quiet and lovely. i would definitely stay here again. Worth every pennies. Thank You Maya!

Pros: Excellent view, extremely kind personnel, good facilities of the room and resort. Cons: Very high humidity in the room (above 80). No suplimental room dehumidifiers installed. Very cold water in the swimming pool. No water heater available. We couldn't use the private swimming pool.
