I was excited to try this hotel after purchasing a gift certificate through a fundraising auction for a non-profit organization and came with my husband and our two kids. It was disappointing from start to finish. Just making the reservation with the gift certificate required four separate phone calls spanning three days. When I checked in, we were given on low level room with an awful view (directly overlooking a concrete roof of vents). When I asked if it would be possible to get a room with a better location, they said no because of the gift certificate value, even though the hotel was far from full. The room itself was small and fairly average. We used the pool in the evening and there is a loud whistle sound that literally blasts every 45 seconds (we timed it). I asked if this could be due to the fire alarm system having been tested and worked on earlier in the day and the employee shrugged. We returned the following morning and the loud and high pitched sound was still blasting every 45 seconds. Not fun. When I went to make coffee in our room, the coffee maker was dirty. I called down to the front desk and they said the only option was for me to come buy coffee downstairs (the hotel does not have complimentary coffee). When I checked out, the employee told me the room rate was actually $60 less than the value on our gift certificate, which makes me think they actually could have given us a better room. I asked if we could have breakfast or at least coffee since there was so much left on the gift certificate and they said no to that too. Overall, there is just a huge lack of hospitality, consideration, and honesty. I definitely would not recommend this hotel.

Well appointed hotel. The rooms are a decent size with large TV. Beds comfortable as well. One issue I had was with the shower in the room, I have never seen one quite like it in all my years of travelling across the globe - it had a strange shower head with a detachable part which you can use to rinse those hard to reach parts, only problem was the 4 water nozzles that emit virtually no water! It was like a sprinkle as opposed to a strong stream of water which was required! Also the shower cubicle itself was very narrow for an adult male and made worse by the shower soap bottles now attached to the wall as seems to be the norm post Covid. Other than this it was ok. The area is south of the river from the city of Cincinnati and there isn’t much around the hotel area. No Starbucks etc. There is a cafe type place inside one of the adjacent buildings that stocks salads/sandwiches and things of that nature but that is about it. I think it closes at 5.30pm so if you want a coffee later than this then you would not be in luck!

Room Tip: No coffee stores or cafes in the area apart from one which closes at 5.30pm. Bit of an outpost...

New person at the front desk did a nice job on check in. Be careful if you use bonvoy suite night points as there are no suites at this location. The pool supposed to open at 7 was able to get in finally about 715. Parking is $42. a night. Nice M lounge with a good breakfast. The room safe didn't work. Good restaurants a short walk away from the property.

We liked the hotel and the location but didn’t have anyone clean our room in 5 days. When I mentioned it to a reception manager the second time, she said we would have had to choose that we wanted house keeping at booking. What??? That is the first time I have heard such thing and I have been in many hotels all over.

We stayed at this location for 5 days for our son’s wedding. We had the perfect view of Paycor Stadium. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff at the front desk was very helpful in going the extra mile to help us with a breakfast we were hosting at the hotel the morning after the wedding. It should be noted this was a very busy weekend. Iowa State’s football team stayed there Friday night. The Bengals were there on Saturday night. Three other wedding parties were also staying in the hotel. Monday morning there was a business conference. The staff was gracious through it all. We will definitely stay on our next trip to visit our son. Several people used the lot next door and had damage done to their cars. We used the on - site parking and had no problems. Shout out to the valet staff who always had our car ready when we called for it!

The Cincinnati Marriott at River Center is a large hotel near a convention venue. If you attend a convention or large meeting, you'll like the location and convenience. If you're going so you can experience downtown Cincinnati or for any other reason, you may want to reconsider. First, the good: The hotel is clean, and the rooms look recently remodeled with standard Marriott decor. Most of the staff is courteous and kind. They try their best to keep guests satisfied, and they genuinely seem to care. If you have Platinum status or higher, the M Club lounge is spacious and serves typical Marriott lounge fare. The lounge is clean and convenient. The not-so-good: Pop music from the 80's-90's is blasted through speakers throughout the hotel 24/7. There's no escaping it. It's in every hallway, every elevator, every public restroom, the fitness center, and everywhere else. It's a nuisance that makes taking a call or having a quiet conversation outside your room challenging. It's loudest in the elevators, making them a uniquely hellish place. The parking is valet-only at a steep price. You can park in one of the garages nearby, run by a parking company, but the rates are equally high if you go in and out. Several restaurants are within walking distance of the hotel, but be prepared to pay a lot for parking either at the hotel or nearby. We stayed for three nights, but housekeeping "forgot" to do our room on our last day. If you stay here, you may want to remind the front desk if you'd like housekeeping politely. Overall, this is a decent but unremarkable Marriott. Our stay had irritants like the nonstop music, the pricey parking, and the unapologetic slip-up with housekeeping. These are things that may not bother most people. They bothered us enough that we'll be looking elsewhere next time. But they may not bother you and the hotel does have its good points. Clean comfortable rooms, decent food, and a friendly staff make this hotel worth considering.

Not a great Marriott at all. Stayed there multiple times with work (I don’t get to choose). Rooms are a little basic, small shower. Bed average. Noise from the huge central atrium (which is actually very pretty) Breakfast is inedible, and extremely limited. Thick mass of powdered egg etc.
