Falls Creek Cabins and Campground is lauded for its prime location, nestled amidst scenic hikes and waterfalls. The cleanliness of the cabins and modern bathrooms, complete with new showers, earns high marks from guests. The cozy atmosphere of the cabins, paired with modern amenities and outdoor fire pits, makes for a homey stay. The friendly staff enhances the experience, and the campground's array of amenities, including a gift shop and ziplining, is popular among families. However, opinions on value for money are mixed, with some noting additional costs.

This is a large, roomy campground with lots of options. They have RV sites (big rig friendly), tent sites, cabins, and even Conestoga wagons. There is a remodel finishing up so the bathrooms/showers in the main bath house were brand new. We did not go in the other bath house. They have a store with some necessities and gifts. They have activities such as Ziplines, rafting, etc which we did not partake in. Our RV site was plenty long and was level gravel(site 204). Water/electric/sewer all functioned as expected. RV sites had a fire pit and elevated charcoal grill which was nice. The park is in a good location about 10 minutes from Cumberland Falls Visitor area and 20 minutes to Corbin area(birthplace of KFC and home of Sanders museum).

My wife and I camped here for three nights, Thursday through Saturday, in a 33 foot fifth wheel. We chose one of the drive through sites. We went the week after Labor Day weekend to avoid any potential crowds. We did not know exactly what to expect, but this is more than just a campground. It has 13 sites for Campers/RVs, only 6 drive through. They are gravel, have a slightly narrow drive-on area, but ours was very close to level and had plenty of elbow room between you and the next camper. The sites were very clean. The drive through sites had water, sewer, and 20/30/50 amp electric hookups. There are also 7 back in sites, which have at least water and electric, not sure about sewer. There was a nice bathhouse facility nearby, which was clean and charmingly rustic, but in good working order. There was a nice pavilion near the RV sites and a playground for children. This is a large footprint facility and it is obvious the owners take pride in it as it is clean well maintained. There is a pond you can sit by and watch the sun set, many tent sites, some with water and electric, some primitive in very isolated/wooded locations. if you are a tent camper, you'll like this place. The have an on site zip line/rappelling tower, kayak rentals, rafting tours (up to class 3 rapids according to staff) and are located just 3 miles from the main facilities at Cumberland Falls State Park, one of our favorite state parks. There are also cabin rentals available of different sizes and capacities ranging from small cabins up to a tiny house. Very cool (to me at least) were the covered wagons you can stay in that are apparently air conditioned. The staff was very nice and helpful when questions were asked. It wasn't crowded at all while we were there so it was extremely quiet at night and there were plenty of places to walk within the facilities in the evening. Another pleasant surprise was the WiFi was very good, again on an uncrowded weekend. There were plenty of places to walk our 2 whippet dogs. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be going back, thus the 5 stars.

The campground is small which is nice, and all the amenities are within brief walking distance. The utility hook-ups for our camper were placed in a convenient location unlike the last place we stayed, and the firepit/grill were clean. The kids wanted to zipline but it rained a lot when we were there and the price was a bit steep for a one-stop zipline trip. Two things I would recommend the owners consider are 1) a swimming pool on site and 2) excursion/activity discounts for guests who stay at the resort. Even 5-10% would be a nice thank you for partaking in extra activities! (as well as an incentive to participate!) We would definitely stay here again as well as recommend it to any friends or family heading to this part of KY! :)

My review would probably be 100x better if it had not rained the entire time we were there limiting our experience. However, what I can say is that the employees are very helpful and friendly. The campground is well located and close to all kinds of things to do. Reservations were easy and well communicated and the one question I had was answered efficiently and quickly. The bathhouse and restrooms were well maintained and I noticed they used disinfectant cleaner every day. We camped at one of the electric/water tent sites. It was a really nice site with plenty of room. We were so close to the playground that my little could go play while we fixed meals and I felt like I could see her the whole time and knew she was safe. It's not a traditional playground either, they incorporated nature into it as much as possible and all the kids seemed to have a lot of fun playing. They have laundry facilities with a book library in it. We had a really good time, in spite of all the rain and can't wait to revisit so we can try everything there was to do there.

At first we were meant to stay in the cabin early February, but a winter storm hit our hometown and we couldn’t safely travel out of our area for about a day. The office let us reschedule our weekend due to weather and that ended up working out beautifully!

The cabin is on the minimal side. The bathroom was large and the shower had hot water after a while, but the kitchen was the best stocked /supplied kitchen we’ve had at a cabin or air b&b yet! The pans were in good condition, the fridge was a full size, not mini, and there were normal sized mugs instead of mini ones. The coffee pot was a small two-serving pot, and was probably the only negative. We needed a little more than a cup each to get moving lol. The property supplied a bundle of wood a night and that was perfect! The couch was stiff and small, and we ended up using a camp chair as seating in the living space so we could sprawl a little post-hiking days. We couldn’t get the TV to work, which wasn’t a big deal to us, since we were only in the cabin at night and could watch something on our iPad if we really wanted to. Mostly it’s a good space for fixing some food and sleeping. It might not have been so great had we had rainy days to stay indoors on.

The staff were very friendly, and gave great advice toward food and getting around town for various restaurants or supplies. They were also very amazing when they discovered my earrings that got left behind and did not hesitate to mail them to me!

The location of the property is pretty choice as well. There’s ample hiking / trail heads and Cumberland falls park proper with it minutes of the property. Dog slaughter falls has a couple trail heads close by and the gravel access roads around that area are good for running if you are so inclined.

On site is a trail system as well, which we thought was going to be “token” at best and we discovered were really great / beautiful trails that involved some simple creek crossings and and sunken creek and many waterfalls! We were so presently surprised that our first partial day in the area was actually spent hiking on those trails and hanging out at the cabin.

There were a lot of activities offered by the property as well, including rentals for SUP and bikes, which we did not take advantage of, but we noted for next time.

Camped in our travel trailer. Site was clean, relatively level and easy to access. Loved that the site and drive areas were graveled nicely as it rained much of the time we were there. We did not spend any time on grounds doing activities because of time of year, there were none offered.
I liked the bath house had private full bathrooms, equipped with shower, sink, toilet and were heated. However, they were very musty smelling and the water pressure was not good. Additionally, when I took my only shower there, I had lukewarm water at best, even cool to the end.
Camp store was closed all day for a memorial service on Sunday, so was unable to get items needed, but it looked to be a big store when we arrived. I suspect it is a great place to stay in season with lots of activities. We were comfortable, but prefer sites that are not parallel/right next to each other and maybe some trees in between. Personal preference, but it was clean and pleasant.

My dog and I camped for 1 night and had a great experience! The main office / gift shop was so cute and had everything you may want or need. The location was great as we were able to wake up early and catch sunrise at one of the best places in the whole park - Chained Rock (HIGHLY RECOMMEND!)

Anyways, thanks for having us - we will be back!

Great experience camping at Sheltowee Trace Adventure Resort, and we will definitely be returning! The camper spaces had enough room that you could move around, and not be crowded in by your neighbors. We liked being close to the Cumberland falls and hiking trails, as well as the speedy wifi for when it got dark and cold. 5/5 would recommend.

My 3 best friends and I decided to hit up a white water rafting trip with Sheltowee Adventure Resort (aka Falls Creek Cabins and Campground) and we stayed in their Star Falls cabin (the nice one with the full kitchen and full bath/shower and w/d, etc.). The beds and pillows were super comfy. The A/C was blasting cold. Loved that in the middle of July. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. The furnishings were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed for two days of cooking. The covered deck was spacious and the deck furniture comfortable. The only bad thing was that the grill outside was pretty nasty and its internal workings were deteriorating. No worries though, because we decided to cook over the fire pit...which tasted awesome. 10/10 would recommend splurging on the Star Falls cabin.

We had booked a RV site as we were intending to stay in our travel trailer but due to an unexpected accident a little more than two weeks before we could not pull it. As our daughter was coming from another state to meet us we decided to get a cabin instead. When we called and explained they let us change to a cabin without penalty. The Couples cabin was very nice with alot of amenities our camper has including a porch on either end. The campground was very quiet and peaceful. The resort also delivered a bundle of wood each day which saved us around $36.00 + tax. We hd a very relaxing time and enjoyed visiting with our daughter and her new husband.

We do not have a pool, but there is a public swimming beach at Laurel Lake (about 20 min away) and a public pool at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park (about 10 min away).
