Keith the owner was lovely. Very welcoming and inclusive. He is really doing his best to bring back Wigwam Village. I would suggest he mows the grass more often... and he's putting a lot of effort into the Wigwams... but it does seem like "The Office" could use some TLC as well. They are renovating two of the wigwams currently and the facelift is quite noticeable. It was really cool to stay here. We probably wouldn't stay here again as my kids love pools and my husband loves a spacious room with a big comfy bed. However, I'm really glad we came. There is a playground, open grass and bonfire area to be enjoyed. My kids loved it and enjoyed playing kickball with other kids that were staying there, too. There were also two seats in front of each wigwam, so my husband sat there and watched the kids play. I enjoyed the nostalgia of it. Keith is attempting to keep it in it's original form. Which is a great idea. My suggestion would be to buy bed skirts so that you can't see how old the mattresses are. When you sat on one side of it, the other side popped up and you could feel the springs. I slept well, but the other members of my family did not. The shower was larger than it appeared. I wish their would be a box of Kleenex in each room. The air conditioner in the window cooled it down well and the temperature was perfect. The blanket on the bed was very soft. The town of Cave City looks a little "rough". Not necessarily scary, just old.... so I do think that WigWam Village is the best option of places to stay. Again, I overall enjoyed the once in a lifetime experience.

Hotel's Favorite
Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying in this piece of interactive history, The rooms are clean and have sufficient amenities while at the same time proving the feel of a room constructed in 1937. The owner is proud of the property's history and is more than happy to share that history with guests.

It’s a one-night-only kind of stay, but a must-do experience! Keith was very informative about the history of Wigwam Village #2. We are a family of 4 (two teenagers) and it was a tight fit, but completely doable. My only recommendation is new mattresses are in dire need! The AC cooled the wigwam effortlessly.

My husband & I wanted to do something different on vacation & since he comes from a Cherokee heritage we knew this would be neat. Yes, the room is small. But it does have a/c window unit & ceiling fan. Shower/bathroom are small, but nice use if space. We came when it was in the 90s outside so it took longer to cool down. But was fine at night. They do have an optional social get together down at the fire pit. But we were so hot from our day we decided not to participate. It is a unique experience & now we can say we stayed in a wigwam/teepee.

Understand this is glamping, not a hotel room, just to set your expectations down the right path. Location is great, especially if you are going to the national park. I’ve slept on cheap air mattresses that were more comfortable so know when they say the interior is authentic, they mean it. When you check in, you have the option to choose an express check-in, which we did bc we knew when we got there, we wanted to head right to the rooms and shower bc we hiked first & had dinner plans. I’m not sure why they give you this option bc they completely disregard this request once you’re there. The male owner INSISTED we all get out of the car and sit down for story time, even though I was sick with a migraine from the heat, before giving us our key. When we told him we had read the history online, he acted like he didn’t believe us and quizzed us on it. Lol- I thought we were on some hidden camera show. Even though we got all the quiz questions right, fist pump, he still insisted on telling us the history that we read online. They do address the cultural appropriation but don’t seem to be doing anything to ‘fix’ it. I understand preserving a time in history but they are still profiting off of another culture. Maybe donate some of the profits to Native American organizations, give them some of the money you’re making off their culture. Remember, you are preserving cultural appropriation, not Native American culture. Just a thought.

This place is so original and has a very interesting history! Meeting neighbors at the fire at night was something you won't experience at other lodgings. I have now added to my list of places to visit thanks to staying at this place and hearing wonderful travel stories from others! They are actively updating and I can't wait for my next visit. They will be turning the big reception wigwam into a coffee shop with nice seating outside! Woohoo!!

This was such a fun experience! Cave City does not have a lot of options when it comes to lodging and when we stumbled upon this place online, my husband and I immediately wanted the experience! Keith was very knowledgeable about the history and his passion for restoring the place to its glory days is evident. The information book in the room was comprehensive and provided a lot of important and unique information. The playground equipment is well maintained and the fire pit is fabulous. We met many of our neighbors and enjoyed the evening visiting and getting to know each other. That was initially one of the main purposes- to foster community. Please take the time to attend the nightly fire- you won't regret it. The rooms are simple but very cozy. They have air conditioning, a heater, shower, toiletries, extra blankets, free WiFi, and a TV. The beds are a little small, so if you are not used to sharing a full size bed, I would recommend the two bed "wigwam". Additionally, there is no hair dryer on site, so if that is something you need/want, you will need to bring your own. It can also get very light inside, as the curtains are not dark/thick like an average hotel. If you are a light sleeper, you may want an eye mask or something. Please know they are ACTIVELY restoring the wigwams; they are not perfect, inside or out. However, the stay is worth any minor inconvenience you may experience. I would definitely stay here again and I look forward to returning and seeing the progress that is made in the restorations! My family is so jealous and now they want a chance to stay here too!

Wonderful history and a completely unique experience! You will feel transported in time to the dawning of the great American road-trip in the utterly wonderful piece of kitsch. The rooms are small, of course, since they are tipis, but the space is well used and completely adorable. Our host, Keith, provided a great history lesson on the place and conveyed his real passion about responsible restoration of this historical property. But, the most wonderful part is that this place is designed to foster community and it does! The fire pit and play area is the focal point of the layout of the “tipis,” so plan to get outside and meet your neighbors. We enjoyed our experience and urge you to do the same when you visit the area.

Oh my goodness..where to even start. We had the best time! What a fabulous place that managed to enchant three generations with the past and present. I loved it for the memories of my childhood, my daughter loved it for the nostalgia of how it used to be and my grandson thought it was the coolest best time ever! I really hope places like your wigwam village stick around forever! Thank you for the hospitality and experience! Our adventures there will go down in the books as an all time favorite! This place was perfectly perfect… the wigwam was cozy and charming.. from the historical old pictures of days gone by on the walls to the tiling in the bathroom and the uber comfortable full size bed (does anyone really need a California king?) The owners were super sweet, understanding and helpful with a mistake made on my end with the reservation. I really can’t say enough about how clean and inviting the place was. The reaction of my daughter and grandson upon arrival was priceless! Like my grandson said “ We will be back!” lol and yes the BIG bonfire was impressive ! A+++ 100 for the experience.

We have been driving by the Wigwam Village since I was a kid and I'm so glad they we finally decided to stay! First, this is a historic site and not a hotel! It's glamping before the word was invented! There are beds, a bathroom with shower, a TV, a window air conditioner or a space heater, and WIFi! They have a wonderful place for the kids to play in the center of the Wigwam circle and a fire at night to visit with your neighbors and roast marshmallows! Get the history lesson from the owner; you will not regret this experience!
