we stayed here from 11/5 to 11/8/2023. ralph is friendly and helpful, with a good knowledge of the area and attractions. he also has lots of pamphlets to help. we read reviews about nearby loud farm animals, but heard very little. we also read about a nearby road with loud vehicles, which is true. but they disappeared by about 10p each night, so no issue for us. first 2 nights we camped with our popup. the area is being cleaned up and is more than adequate with water and electrical connections. the third night we switched to a cabin to be able to more quickly leave the next morning. the cabin was nice, comfortable with a clean and well stocked bathroom. thanks ralph for making all this easy for us!!

Property's Favorite Review
We had a wonderful time camping at Rock Cabin Campground. Ralph, the owner was so nice and helpful. He let us set up our sites that worked out best for our three campers. The sites were big and gave us a lot of room for the six of us as well as our two dogs. It was like having our own campground. Nice trees for shade during the day. Kentucky was half way point between us in Pa and my son in Ok. This campground is right down the stree from Mamouth Caves and we enjoyed visiting there too. Ralph brought us some of his favorite brochures of places to visit while we were there. Great trip! Everyone had a great time. He also has stone cabins if not everyone in your party has a camper.

I made reservations at Rock Cabin Camping (RCC) for their large cabin (for my daughter and grandkids) and a campsite (for my husband and me) because I needed both types of facilities, and RCC is the closest cabin facility to Mammoth Cave. I was very disappointed in the appearance and maintenance of the property. If I could have made other arrangements after our arrival, I would have. The pictures on the website are very very old.

Mammoth Caves was our last stop on our 7 day trip celebrating our anniversary and my boyfriends college graduation. This was the perfect place to have our last two nights of vacation. Ralph is super helpful and accommodating to anything you may need. He got us into our cabin a few hours early. The cabins are great!! They have everything you need and are renovated super cute! Super close to multiple towns, caves, and things to do.

We camped in our RV in late October, and we were the only people besides a camper at the site next to us who we think was a long-term resident. My husband and I grew up and live in a rural community so we were used to the atmosphere, but be aware that the neighbor on the adjoining property has a mini-farm with pigs, ducks, chickens, goats, and guinea hens. The animals get very vocal in the evening, especially the guineas, but the noise doesn't last too long. There is a somewhat well-traveled 2-lane highway in front of the campground and the traffic noise was moderate. We loved the full hook-ups that were available! We traveled from Indiana and it is nearly impossible to find full-hookups there, especially at such a great price.

The cabin was as advertised. While the cabins are old, the stuff inside was newer (bed, mattress, microwave, fridge). Bed was comfortable. Temp was in upper 80s and window AC worked great. Owner Ralph was very nice. My son is into astrometry and saw on another review Ralph was as well. He let us use his telescope a couple nights, so that was cool. Plenty of fire pits, grills, tables and chairs outside. I would stay there again for sure.

Thank you. Happy you had a great stay. I got a new telescope. Trouble is it weighs about forty pounds more than the other one. So really have to plan ahead for planet watching.

Ralph the owner was very nice and knowledgeable of the local area. When I booked cabin 9 for 2 night he emailed me links to several local attractions. The location couldn't be better for Mammoth cave and several other activities. The cabine was a little dated but clean. The only issue was that a hot shower was near impossible due to the tiny water heater. A nice shower is a necessity after a dave in the caves and other outdoor activities. Would be 5 star with a bigger water heater.

The owner Ralph and his dog Harvey came outside to greet us - and that was just the beginning. He took us to our sites and showed the best way to set up. We bought firewood for less than half the cost of any place we’ve ever seen or purchased, and he delivered it personally to our sites. After dark, while sitting around the fire, he came over and invited us to go check out Jupiter and Saturn on his telescope! His wife has amazing gardens, and he was very helpful with ideas for dining, shopping and things to do in the area. The price was very reasonable, the campsites well laid out and spacious, and the setting was beautiful. Thanks Ralph, if we head to Kentucky again we will definitely stay with you!

While our stay was rained out (and our tent flooded😭), the site was perfect!! Ralph (owner) was super friendly and helpful - he shared suggestions on activities and places to eat (we had camp meals planned but only got to prepare one due to the rain). Bathhouse is clean and easily accessible. They have a variety of small cottages, RV sites and primitive camping sites - our camping site was extremely affordable, especially with the entire site being as clean as it was. Highly recommend if in the area. There was a large group that comes every year while we were there and they even setup a slip-n-slide area for the kids and let ours join in. Great environment!!

We had a great time at Rock Cabin. Good access to Mammoth Cave National Park. Good bbq at Bucky Bee. The cabins are a little bit close to the street, but they were clean. The fire pit and grill and the owner Ralph made up for it. He was such a congenial host and gave us lots of good recommendations. We enjoyed his dog Harvey too! Thanks Ralph😃
