Our daughter and son-in-law stayed here with us for a family reunion. The cottage is just outside Mammoth Cave National Park so it is convenient for running back and forth to picnic areas, to Sunset Lodge where family members stay, to the Visitor Center where the tours start, and to the hotel where we hold our dinner. The cottage is so comfortable with a sunroom opening to a deck, a living room opening to the fully equipped kitchen, a first floor bedroom and a second floor bedroom, one full bath and one half bath. Our whole family enjoyed visiting there on Saturday afternoon. The front porch is very nice. Of course we always look forward to seeing Becky and Larry again. They have really become friends over the year!

Such a nice place to stay! We love to come back each year! The cottage is always clean and nice. Lots of room to visit. Nicely equipped kitchen for making breakfast. Location just beside Mammoth Cave National Park boundary could not be better. And we love to come back to visit with Becky and Larry! The cottage is just across the road from the canoe and kayak rental and a zipline is a short distance around the corner! Downstairs bedroom and upstairs bedroom plus sofa bed offer plenty of room. There is one full bath and one half bath both on the first floor.

The cottage is very nice, it felt like home. Had an issue the first night we arrived but the staff was very quick to remedy the situation. The owners are very nice people. The location is great with ample privacy. We will DEFINATELY be returning next year. If coming to visit Mammoth Cave consider this the best place to stay. Wonderful place to stay!

Stayed at the Hanson Cottage for three nights the week of August 18th. The cottage is surprising large inside with plenty of places to sit and relax. There's even a small sunroom that leads out to the back deck. There is one full bath and one half bath downstairs. The cottage was very clean and well kept by the owners. Becky and Larry (the owners) were both very nice to us during our stay. Becky warned us about the previous ant problem, but we didn't see any during our stay. Despite it's name, do not expect breakfast in the morning as they stopped doing that some time ago. The only minor negative I can report is with the bed mattresses. I'm not sure what type they were, but they were fairly firm and noisy. Almost sounds like you're moving on a big partially filled plastic bag. Once you get to sleep it's not a big deal as long as you're not a toss-and-turner. Overall the cottage is a very nice place to stay in the area especially if you have more than two people in your group. We would definitely stay there again if we come back to the area.

After reading all the reviews I expected an excellent stay. Beds are very FIRM (like a floor), kids enjoyed making s'mores around the fire ring, ants enjoyed crawling throughout the cottage. Had to be sprayed during our stay by the exterminator.
