Built in 2003 on a little elevation overlooking the beach and the karsts of Phang Nga Bay, the Passe-Temps with it 8 traditional and comfortable rooms, its mature garden and stunning views is quite simply unique in the province. It offers everything one expects from a good range hotel, and still it feels very much like a family house. Where else will you see the guests moving the table of the restaurant to continue their aperitive talking and dine together ? The staff is caring without being obsequious, the cook is great, and the owners, having been living here for 18 years are always available to help organize your day and make your stay unforgetable.

Detailed Reviews
Although we didn’t stay here my daughter and I stumbled upon this beautiful resort while cycling. Olivier and team were kind enough to welcome us with open arms to enjoy their resort and beach. We had lunch there 2 days and ate directly on the beach overlooking the water and islands. The food was delicious. This resort has a beautiful infinity pool that overlooks the water along with lovely gardens and landscaping all around. I hope to return here one day as a resort guest! We were certainly made to feel like guests during out time there. Thank you!

How nice of you! Thank you so much! Your daughter and yourself are so polite and discreet, how could we not be happy to have you here, guets or not !? Still, we surely hope to see you back in Krabi, and this time we will do our best to have you staying with us :)

This is our fourth time staying at this resort and we decided to share this slice of paradise with our niece from the US. We know the area well so in four days we took the long tail boat trip island hopping, elephant sanctuary and sunsets on the viewing deck. We have to admit, we were pampered by the staff and felt prescious. Until next time, au revoir!

This is the third time I return to Le Passe Temps. Over the 8 years I lived in Thailand I have been in other places in Ao Nang and Railay - but nothing compares to this place.
Every bungalow is a piece of art with beautiful antique furniture. The beach is quiet and offers incredible sunset views. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel managers are from France but speak a flawless Thai and have the best advice on excursions and experiences. A Jewel of a place!

Choose to travel here alone to relax. Recharge myself before going back to work. The atmosphere of the hotel is amazing, shady, quiet, very good service and complete facilities, beautiful, suitable for relaxation.

I waited to post my comments because I was so disappointed in and emotional about my experience at this hotel that I didn't want to be too unfair with my assessment.
I planned a trip to this hotel with my significant other and our aunt. I was really looking forward to an amazing experience becuase I had read all the great reviews on the hotel. The stay turned out to be a disaster. the food was terrible not only in taste, options and cost, but my boyfriend got really sick ( the only time on our 2 week trip) and had to be seen by a doctor and had to take medicine for the rest of our time in Thailand. I also started to get sick as did others staying at the hotel ( I knew this becuase we asked to borrow our neighbors medicine). The manager ended up firing the cook from what the manager stated. The pretty rooms are too small and did not come equipped the toiletries you would expect for the price you pay to stay there. The room staff took their time to clean our rooms, which was really annoying when you are waiting for clean or dry towel. The staff did not speak any english, except for the manager and the owners. Most people who were staying at the hotel spoke french.
Olivier and Keit were not around when we stayed, which may have contributed to the terrible service and food- when the boss was away the employees didn't work. before our arrival to the hotel I had discussed with Olivier via email scheduling some daily romantic activities such as dinner on a deserted island and snorkeling and such. Needless to say the new manager knew nothing of the sort, so this never happended. This was also so disappointing.
breakfast- expect a croisant or sliced bread, coffee or tea and chopped up fresh fruit that will stay out until you wake up to eat it (not good in Thailand with all the bugs). we had planned to stay several nights at this hotel, and couldn't imagine eating this minimal breakfast every morning. They need to add some protien and some variations in what is offered.
dinner- every person staying at the hotel smoked (except us), the dinner was out side next to the beach but we could barely breath with all the cigarettes going, the family style portions were very small, everyone at our table left hungry
beach- really prickly sand, not clean, lots of biting ants, looks pretty
location and hotel entrance- beautiful art, away from everything so be prepared to feel secluded (we actaully liked the idea of this until we arrived and found out the food, rooms, and service were not good)
We ended up checking out and found another hotel for the same price that was amazing in comparison as far as amenties, location, staff, food and beach.
I emailed Olivier afterward to let him know how we were so disappointed with our stay and he only refunded the cost of the food. I would have preferred he also refund us for the night we didn't stay there, since the rooms were not being taken care of at decent hour and overall we were miserable with our stay.
I wonder how it would have been if Olivier and Kiet had been there. We may have had wonderful time, but now we will never know.

We booked the DUO room in advance and had our own car to get there. We stayed 3 nights
The place is still secluded but like everywhere in Thailand, it gets more busy .
Normaly when i book a Hotel, Resort or Guesthouse in SE-Asia i am quiet sure that price says something about quality.
Not so here.
We payed more than 135 USD per night for a very small Bungalow.
The Room was extremly small. Everything nice decorated and stylish but the Windows to small
to get some fresh air inside. There was no balcony or terrace to sit outside as it was promised on there homepage. No place to hang the swimmingdress or a wet towel.
We did eat in the restaurant just once, that says it.
We were very disappointed about the Breakfast too. For the price you can expect some fresh fruit, but they just place some hole fruit on the breakfast table...
i can not recommend !

It took me a year to write a review :). I think this B&B is just wonderful. Olivier made our stay unforgettable and spectacular. Location is secluded and peaceful. Food is great. Even though the beach virtually doesnt exist, but the pool area is stunning. Rooms are immaculate, comfortable and lovely decorated. And on the top of it there was Olivier - the owner or simply our Goddess. All our wishes have been done, all our desires satisfied. By the end of our trip we didnt know what to want : we were fed so well that we gained 10 lbs each, we were sent for the remote islands so we can enjoy each other in romantic and intimate environement, drank till we dropped dead. Since im russian i thought i was treated like a long lost but but mysteriously discovered in the paradise of Krabi – princess Anastasia. If only I could magically bring that B&B with all surroundings, staff, and Olivier to…somewhere around Ft. Lauderdale or Palm Springs, I would go there every weekend and eventually retire there. Thank you guys for unforgettable time. Hugs

We spent 5 nights in February with our 5-year old at Le Passe-Temps. The hotel grounds are very well maintained and clean. Location is also nice because there are no other hotels around and you are basically surrounded by forest and beach and about 1 hour from the city center. We had only one noise issue in the middle of the night due to a drunk guest, but he left the next day. I'd advise the owners to limit the amount of alcohol they sell in hotel grounds. And talking about guests, most are French and are only interested in interacting with each other. Don't get me wrong: we have very nice French friends and family members. We stayed at the Gecko cottage with the beautiful ocean view. The cottage was quite small, simple, but charming. What was REALLY bad about it, is that the bed made a lot of noise whenever we moved and the mattress was EXTREMELY soft, to the point that when my husband moved, I felt I was churning at sea. Therefore, our sleep quality was really bad at this hotel. Nevertheless, because the atmosphere was so relaxing, we could still enjoy our stay. The kitchen staff was nice and did everything to make us feel welcome. The food from the restaurant was absolutely wonderful and authentically Thai. Breakfast was plain, no good coffee, not even a cappuccino or a decent espresso. Bread was just simple bread out of the plastic bag. Fruits were scarce or plain, which was strange to me, considering that Thailand has such wonderful fruit which we saw at the market. Olivier was quite friendly and personally took us to some places to explore. The only issue was that we felt he did not understand what can go wrong when a guest has a child and everything was done in a very relaxed way without much planning and with some last minute improvisation. For 2 excursions, one by boat and another to the natural reserve, we had to remind them of food to take for the day. For the boat trip we had some soiled tuna sandwiches and very green hard mangos, so the food was basically uneatable and we returned starving. For the natural reserve trip, we were given no food, but were told that there was a good restaurant in the reserve. However when we came out of our hike, we saw that the restaurant was really a canteen and was closed! We had been also told that there was a phone we could use at the guard post to call the hotel, but the guard said there was no phone, so we got strained. After many attempts of trying to get a signal for the mobile, my husband was finally able to call Olivier to ask him to pick us up. Meanwhile, a very nice couple stopped to talk to us and gave our daughter some biscuits, for she was starving. Luckily, we had plenty of water on us. When we got back to the hotel, there was good food waiting for us, so at least Olivier tried to fix the situation. Kiet was an absolutely pleasant person to talk to and we had the impression that the hotel service was better whenever he was around. Other points: beach is nice, but either rocky or clay at the bottom, which made the water murky, not really good for swimming. When tide was low, we played at the beach looking for animals. You can walk into the ocean taking care not to step on the many sea cucumbers and starfish around, but in the water you get clay, not sand, with many crabs, really fun for explorers. Our daughter loved to explore and found so much to learn about. Cottages are very near each other, so you can hear any noise around. Pool is small, simple and full of chemicals. I was going to rate this hotel with "poor", simply due mainly to the bad quality of sleep and the lack of planning for day trips. But because Olivier tried what he could to fix things and because of the nice staff (except Jay who I found not to be welcoming at all) I decided to give an "average" rating. I think this hotel has the potential to be a great place, but Olivier will have to be a little less relaxed and more attentive to details. Decoration is not all for a good stay.

Le Passe Temps
My partner & I had a few days in Krabi & stayed in this wonderful French owned, gay friendly beach resort. Traditional Thai wooden lodges, beautifully appointed with A/C & luxury bathroom, right on the beach - which is deserted and looks out over a beautiful sea & islands. The owner, Olivier, was wonderful & we ate each night under the stars by the swimming pool, excellent Thai food with a distinct French influence. Fabulous breakfast including coffee, bread & croissants - could have been in Nice. Trips out were excellent, including a very reasonable day out in their own boat, going round islands and beaches, swiming & snorkelling.
Truly fabulous & I thoroughly reccomend for a chilled out break.

Looks great on the tin, but really just a small guest resort miles from anywhere and trips expensive...we saw some snakes around which might not be strange for this location, but still frightening...

Bonjour Joelle,
Kiet & Olivier.
