Visited Bardstown, KY July 6-10th and stayed at The Old Talbott Tavern. We stayed in the General's Quarters and the room's furniture was very classic and historic. Yet, the bathroom was modernized, as far as the shower and toilet. We didn't experience any visits with the ghost, but from the Ghost Tour, the equipment showed a lot of activity. The... More

Place was definitely cool if you love anything historical. It was also clean. Gift shop was lacking, but the food was not so great. Had huge chunks of potato with skin on in mashed potatoes...gravy on country fried steak was bland...green beans were okay but dudnt taste of ham which was what i expected in the South. My daughters chicken... More

We stayed in the Jesse James room after hearing so many great things about it, and I really hate to give this place a bad review, but I have to be honest. First off, the bed was awful; I was sinking into it and almost knocked my wife out a few times. I was wondering if it was the same... More

Beautiful building. The staff weren't unfriendly, but not overly welcoming or helpful. Stayed in the Abraham Lincoln room, and if was pretty, and reasonably updated. The bed wasn't comfortable though, and the traffic noise made it impossible to get a good nights sleep... Trucks using their Jake breaks at 3 in the morning... just could not sleep through it.

We spent two nights in the Lincoln Suite in the historic Talbot Tavern. This place was built in 1779 and has welcomed visitors ever since. Our "suite" was very comfortable, although a little bit chilly and with some early morning road noise. Reportedly the tavern is haunted, but we experienced nothing unusual. Perhaps my snoring repelled the spirits. A hearty... More

Beautiful site. I probably ordered the wrong item but did enjoy the fried pickles!!! I'd give it another try just order something different!!! Great service & friendly staff. Building is beautiful. I had the country fried steak. Just not my kind of food!

Eight of us traveled to Bardstown to do a little bit of bourbon tasting. We choose this Inn as our "home port". Each of our 4 rooms was very unique in décor and history. Our room was the Jesse James room. The twin beds were very comfortable Our room was on the 2nd floor right off of a sort of... More

Our experience was amazing. We stayed two nights in the Washington Irving Suite. The room was clean & comfortable. The whole place reeks of history. The service was impeccable and the breakfast was really great too. We look forward to returning. Caveat: We stayed mid-week when it was Very Quiet. We understand the weekend stays are a later "quiet time"... More

Fun historic inn. Our room was clean, very comfortable (great bed) but a bit frayed around the edges and furnishings are not period, but we really enjoyed our stay. The only caveat is that some rooms are over the bar, and from other comments they can be quite noisy on weekends until 1 or 2am. As we were there on... More

Love the restaurant, the history and the people! The food was average. Very disappointed in the over cooked pot roast and the small amount of meat in the dish. However the Sun special of pork tenderloin was cooked perfect and was delicious. So 1 out of 4 of us ordered the right thing. Our waiter was great and the atmosphere... More
