We had dinner here on our last night in Bardstown. The food was good with large portions. I had the fish and my husband had the ribeye. A waiter that wasn't our's noticed me looking around at the architecture and the art on the walls. He gave us a sheet with the history and the hauntings stories. He offered that... More

We stopped and ate dinner and on a whim asked if any rooms were available. The Washington Irving room was and it has the biggest bed, why not. The room was nice. Over abundance of pillows but you can set them aside. There were only 10 channels but they did. Went for a walk around town and found Pokestops. Dorky... More

Upon arrival, we were advised that the suite we had reserved a month earlier was above the bar with live music until 1 AM. We had never been told any such thing when reserving this room. There were no other rooms available and we were asked to sign that we would not smoke in the room and not make noise.... More

We stopped for lunch after a few bourbon tours. Food was just OK... Hubby got pot roast very dry and very small portion of meat. I had wedge salad which had brown lettuce and not super tasteful. Waiter never asked how food was, but otherwise was super nice. Fried green tomatoes are to die for, loved the remoulade but he... More

Stayed in the Lincoln Suite. I really wanted to love this place, but it just felt old and not historic. The place needs some love and care. The bottom sheets would not stay on the bed so we just pulled them off and slept on the mattress pads...not very pleasant. The TV din't work and the staff couldn't be bothered... More

Visited Bardstown, KY July 6-10th and stayed at The Old Talbott Tavern. We stayed in the General's Quarters and the room's furniture was very classic and historic. Yet, the bathroom was modernized, as far as the shower and toilet. We didn't experience any visits with the ghost, but from the Ghost Tour, the equipment showed a lot of activity. The... More

Place was definitely cool if you love anything historical. It was also clean. Gift shop was lacking, but the food was not so great. Had huge chunks of potato with skin on in mashed potatoes...gravy on country fried steak was bland...green beans were okay but dudnt taste of ham which was what i expected in the South. My daughters chicken... More

We stayed in the Jesse James room after hearing so many great things about it, and I really hate to give this place a bad review, but I have to be honest. First off, the bed was awful; I was sinking into it and almost knocked my wife out a few times. I was wondering if it was the same... More

Beautiful building. The staff weren't unfriendly, but not overly welcoming or helpful. Stayed in the Abraham Lincoln room, and if was pretty, and reasonably updated. The bed wasn't comfortable though, and the traffic noise made it impossible to get a good nights sleep... Trucks using their Jake breaks at 3 in the morning... just could not sleep through it.

We spent two nights in the Lincoln Suite in the historic Talbot Tavern. This place was built in 1779 and has welcomed visitors ever since. Our "suite" was very comfortable, although a little bit chilly and with some early morning road noise. Reportedly the tavern is haunted, but we experienced nothing unusual. Perhaps my snoring repelled the spirits. A hearty... More
