We visited several Monarch butterfly areas and this was by far the best experience. The B&B is clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our trip up to the butterflies was organised by the B&B and was outstanding. We chose the horseback option...More

This trip is on my bucket list! Before I commit myself I have a few questions. 1. Is this a safe place for a solo female traveler? Anyone with personal experience? 2. How easy is it to get from the airport to the B and B?Is there an option to be picked up/ dropped off at the airport?Im not interested in navigating a foreign locale on my own by bus or even rental car. I'm more than willing to pay for this service! 3. How long should I plan to stay in order to fit everything in without stress or getting bored? What is the average stay? 4. What time of year should I plan on arriving? 5. I was excited to hear that hiking was an option over horseback( not a fan of horses). Can this be accomodated even in peak season?Should I plan on off season to be able to request all or most of the above? 6. Understand that I'm not a snob! Just an older woman who was warned about Mexico but still wants to see butterflies and enjoy time with like-minded folks.

Hello, did you rent a car to reach the hotel. If so did you find it useful to have to see some of the other butterfly sactuaries besides Cerro Pelon? Also how far is it from Angangueo (El Rosario butterfly Sanctuary)? We are hoping to visit in February 2017.

Some people do rent cars to reach us, and we've heard mixed reports on the car rental front. It's been said that Avis is preferable to Budget. Wherever you end up, hidden fees and a long time at check out seem to be... More

Do you know the date of the Monarch Butterfly Festival? Also is it important to see Sierra Chincua and also El Rosario? What is included in our stay at your B & B? Do we need a guide? Do we need a horse? Cost? Any information would be very helpful! Thank you. Ellie
