Chose this based on reviews and it looked like a good value in times past when I just drove by. In reality, it's kind of awful. Unkempt and weedy all over the hotel grounds with junk piled in the laundry room. Our room was kinda dark and dank, maybe to hide the stained carpet. Terrible, unprofessional check in! We were continually pestered by two huge dogs, jumping up on us, nudging, etc. Check-in lady came from behind the desk to herd the dogs back into the office no less than 10 times times, making check in a 30 minute, frustrating ordeal. Thankfully, the beds were clean and the price was right.

This is an older, independently owned motel. The appearance could be enhanced by some weeding and grass trimming. All rooms are ground level, and you can pull right up to your door, which makes unloading luggage easy. We had Room 8, which has two full beds. The room is spacious enough, and everything was clean. A/C worked well, and provided just enough white noise. Room was very quiet, and the bed was comfy. Got a good night’s sleep. There is a coffee maker (although no coffee), microwave, and mini-refrigerator, plus hair dryer. The tv is a large flat screen, and wifi works great. There are definitely not enough outlets, which is especially noticeable if you’re trying to use your laptop while sitting at the desk. The room is furnished with a large desk, nice chair, nightstand, dresser, and full-length mirror. The bathroom is small, and has no air or exhaust fan, and no where to set anything. Towels were soft, but there were only two sets, so if you wash your hair, you will have to dry it with a hand towel. Water pressure was sufficient, but the water does not get hot. Warm enough, but not hot. There is a cafe right next door, as well as a convenience store. For $60, I’d say we got a bargain. The owner is very nice, and accommodating, and I am sure she would have provided more towels if I had asked. Yes, I would stay here again.

I'm presently Traveling US Highway 36 East to St Joseph Missouri, then up to Minnesota on Small state Highways Country scenic routes. I had the opportunity to stop into the USCenter Motel on Highway 36 in Smith Center Kansas. I seen a review that said that this was a rip off. Anyone reading this ad please totally disregard this as it is simply not true. I wish people when they write reviews would be honest. I can't see one thing wrong with this Motel at all. This is a totally clean comfortable well run Motel. Better than you can find anywhere around for quite some miles. The General Manager here Leisa is a sweetheart totally nice Gal who goes out of her way to make sure you are taken care of. In every way. This place is also totally convenient in every possible way. The Owners definitely care about thier business. My over all opinion is a very good one. Good Staff clean and a family oriented safe place. I urge all travelers coming east or west on US 36 to not pass this place up. Thumbs up to another good American Owned local Mom and Pop place.👍🇺🇸

Was in town for a friends wedding and stayed at the US Center Motel. Modest, comfy, and very clean!! Air conditioner worked great!! I really enjoyed my stay! The extra room amenities were also nice. I really liked the information booklet left in the room that gave great information on the different places to eat and tourist activities for the area. Staff was friendly and quick to help! Thank you for a great stay!

This is not a fancy motel. It's not expensive either. Room was clean, king sized bed was comfortable, it was quiet. The wall furnace did not work but there was a portable floor heater. The floor heater would keep me awake coming off and on so we turned the heater off and set it on fan. That was like white noise and we slept well and did not get cold either. Well worth the money. Recomend.

My wife and I stayed one night at the US Center Motel and we really enjoyed a good nights rest. Jeannie advised on where we could get a good meal and I am glad she did as we both had a really lovely meal in a great bar. The motel is very clean and tidy and the staff are great. I had a accidently left my wallet in the bedside cabinet and Jeannie contacted me and arranged for it to be shipped to my latest hotel in Denver. That is exceptional service and its good to know that people like Jeannie and the motel staff have a very good sense of service. I cannot thank them enough!

Really friendly staff with an awesome kid. Felt homey and like a community place. Also felt like all my needs were supported - sometimes by an 11 year old asking if we had ice! Room was nice, and we had a lovely summer's night here. :)

Stayed here last week while hunting. Double room was small but adequate. Had an infrared heater in the corner that seemed to always be warmer than what the temperature read. Beds were comfortable, room was neat and clean. Right next door to Paul's Cafe, and a gas station/convenience store so quite handy.

We were passing through the area on our way to the Geographical Center of the US and Biggest Ball of Twine. Parking is right in front of your room. Room was clean, but definitely dated, with a few spots on the carpet. AC worked well but noisy. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was small - no counter around the sink, but there was some shelving provided on another wall. The shower was just a stall (no tub), but it had nice hot water after a couple minutes heating. Staff was very friendly and overall it was a great value on our cross-country roadtrip!

Modest old-school motel, with small but clean & well-appointed rooms. Personable staff and friendly dogs on well-maintained property. Nice and quiet at night, but for... Needs work: ever-present, annoying, and LOUD kitchen exhaust fan (or maybe the oversized AC unit) mounted atop Paul's Cafe adjacent to the lobby was left running all... night... long.
