Absolutely stay here! Everyone was so nice and went above and beyond. Room was very clean and comfortable and even had free breakfast in the morning! We rolled in at 2am not knowing what to expect and we got In our room right away. Thanku!
We are on our way back home and found this lodging on our way to WA. Hidden Gem! First, if you are looking for a 5 star hotel, move on. This place is for those who like a great travel bargain, a clean place to sleep, secure, and with a good breakfast. Our room, 106 was clean, mattress was very good, good air conditioning and lots of towels. Microwave and larger fridge/freezer…..yea!!! Yes, there is several older items in room but clearly taken care of. Again, it’s like your family room down in the basement or at your camp. You get what you paid for and we got a very good price. Dylan at the front desk was very nice. I especially liked his attitude. They were able to get me into a ground floor by luck, which was good for my old body. Another gentleman assisted me with a bathroom issue, it happens but jumped on it immediately and resolved it. We loved that there were other families here along with kids for my niece and nephew to swim with. Nice big property. Like your back yard with a pool setting. Breakfast was good. Being a southern girl from birth, get the biscuits at breakfast. Yum. They are like my homemade one. Overall, good customer service, warm and friendly and my niece little pup loved it here. He was able to have a huge patch of grass off to the back for his business. We had two other small dogs but kept them in their kennel with air conditioning inside our vehicle. We didn’t want them to bark if anyone was walking around. They tend to be protective and didn’t want to cause any problems with other guest. Overall, looking for a good place to stay, I highly recommend this lodge. You will enjoy a bit of the good old days❤️ Sincerely Rhonda 7/8/2022…
We were traveling through and needed a place to stay for just the evening. We searched for hotels near Hays and rooms were $200/night average. I widened my search and found The Lodge at Russell for $59/night. We thought we would drive by to check it out. They are in the process of remodeling rooms. We requested a updated room and ended up being very pleased with everything. The room was very clean, had a mini fridge and new bedding. They also have a pretty good spread for breakfast which starts as early as 5:30 to help you get an early start! We will definitely stay here again.
Only $78 for a two room suite…perfect for my family of five. Friendly service, great hot breakfast (more options than the chains), updated rooms. The price can’t be beat. Looking forward to staying here again.
Exhausted travellers could not find a room at any inn until The Lodge at Russell had space. In the middle of the night the staff was kind and welcoming. The rooms were clean, towels fresh and bright white, bed coverings cute and country. The AC worked and was quiet. The pool was full and open. Breakfast was egg casserole not just starch.
The front desk staff was extremely nice and helpful. Room was very clean, and had everything we needed, very impressed, and we will return, on our way to Utah! Next time we will use the pool, game room etc! Thank you!
First we requested ground floor, front desk lady actually said," I don't know if this room is on ground level. If not come back and we can switch. Also, didn't know if room was updated. It was 100degrees in the shade and we were tired so just kept the upstairs and definitely not updated room. This room showed it's age. The carpet was old and look filthy. Also, for ice you had to go back downstairs and to the office. Now,the good things, inviting front area, pretty grounds, nice looking pool and great breakfast. Also the price. We love small mom and pop type motels, not fancy chains so we're not snobs. Maybe, front office staff needs better training.
A perfect place to stay! Inexpensive, rooms that were well-taken care of, and lovely grounds with beautiful grass and a fire pit. My favourite part was the games room, which was great to spend time at with my family! And the breakfast was delicious. Not fancy by any means, but a lovely place to stay.
The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. For sleeping the room was nice and dark. The breakfast was a really nice touch! We will be staying here the next time we are driving trough the area. Scotto
I booked this hotel thru Priceline after reading the reviews and decided to take a chance. I was initially going to stay just one day, but extended it to 2 days. The room I was in (109) was done up in what they called "Farm Charm". I believe that each room has its own theme, and the room was comfortable. The only downside was a man and woman arguing about 11:30, but, that diminished after about 10 minutes. No peep after that. Anyway, back to the room..... the room was clean, the bathroom was especially clean and I would not hesitate in staying here again. If you book, see about getting one of the update rooms as I believe not all have been remodeled as of yet.
