We really enjoyed our room. Nice little separation between living and sleeping. Probably the best mini fridge I've ever had for keeping food cool that we brought with us. The little kitchenette area with a sink, fridge and coffee maker was nice and allowed us to prepare our food for our days events without having to use the bathroom. Breakfast had plenty of option to choose from; fruit, cereals, pastries, multiple milk choices and hot food. Fitness are was nice for the limited size; bench, dumbbells, treadmill, elliptical and stationary bikes.

The only issue we had during the stay, but not an impact on us, was both elevators ended up out of service. We arrived in the evening on a Friday night and one was out of order and by bedtime the second went out of order as well. By the time we left on Sunday morning both still were not working. Luckily we were on the second floor so it was just as fast to use the stairs.

Thank you so much for your review. I see a lot of positives such as our spacious rooms, and many amenities we offer. I do want to apologize about the elevator issues. The first one went out Thursday night. The technician advised us that he needed to special order a part which would come in after about 4-5 business days. We were not happy about that, but we still had one. In a horrible turn of events the second one went out Friday night. We had technician there at midnight, but he was unable to test because the oil was too hot. We were told he would be there at 6am. We were on the phone with them repeatedly until noon when they finally came in. Thankfully they got the second one up and running 4pm on Saturday. I can assure you this is a very rare occurrence.

We loved the space offered in the king room. Since we traveled with several couples, the nice sized living room areas made it nice for use to meet up in anyone's room. We slept great in the bed, and the AC/heating system also worked great as we had to switch between the two. We could also turn the fan to manual to keep air moving. Breakfast was available, although we did not try it, but there is also a bar in the lobby that offers evening drinks. Our only complaint was low water pressure in the shower of our sixth floor room. Employees were great - very helpful.

Very good value. We had to be out of the house 2 days for a re-modeling project. The location was close to home, and other amenities that we normally use, The breakfast service had a wide variety and there were dedicated staff re-filling various food items, and keeping the coffee carafes full.

Our remote didn't work so I asked for a replacement, instead they sent someone to our room to play with our remote to see we were right about it not working, then the same guy returned to our room with a new remote to play with the new remote changing the channels for almost 20 minutes to find something for us to watch even though we never asked him to do that. When I went to take my shower after getting settled, I realized that I had no towels, and when my husband went down to get us some, he came back with towels that had holes in them. He said the person at the front desk said that was all they had. Our room did not look like it was properly cleaned and with the Delta variant of COVID being the way it was, I would NEVER send someone into a guest room without a mask to play with a remote or check anyone into a room that is not properly clean and stocked with towels. As a business consultant, I was EXTREMELY disappointed.

Upon arrival to hotel the front sliding doors were broken with maintenance staff working to fix them and not moving when guest need to come through. When booking reservation I requested early check in and when coming in to hotel was told they were having issues with cleaning staff and my room was not ready. Front desk said they would reach out to housekeeping immediately and call me when room was ready. We returned to hotel well after routine check in time and were not contacted that room was ready. In the hotel room there were dirty toe nails from a prior guest on the floor, dirty handprints on the wall. The pool was dirty and had hair floating in it. To make matters worse when we woke up the next morning to what appeared to be bed bugs inside both beds. Pictures were taken and attempted to catch one but it opened with blood. When the front desk was contacted I was dismissed and told the manager was busy in meetings. They asked if we would like to switch rooms. We declined as we do not wish to be in any hotel with bed bugs. Manager contacted later and stated they were red spiders from the woods behind us. I still at this time have concerns that they were bed bugs and not red spiders, but no patron would want red spiders all over there bed either. When asking to be refunded for the night we had stayed they said they could refund 75$ for letting them know about the bugs. Overall, very disappointed and will never be staying at a Hyatt again.

I had an excellent stay here. Very friendly and extremely responsive service from staff including prompt response to a an effortless extension of my planned stay - at same rate - and prompt correction of an issue with my room heater/thermostat. I was happy to see their full compliance with sound COVID guidance - not just "Oh, I've got a mask on but I'm going to wear it below my nose". Very good rate. I would stay again in a minute.

I love the check-in app that minimized my concern for checking into the hotel by 6:00 pm and I received an email that my room was ready. My plans were delayed in my travel to Kansas City. The staff was very friendly and personable. I enjoyed a wonderful shower (hot water with a massage) which helped me to relax. I slept very well all night which is unusual for me to sleep well in a strange place. I felt energized the next morning and I was pleased with my overnight experience. Thank you Hyatt Place Kansas City/Overland Park/Metcalf.

This place smells terrible. Literally like a wet dirty dog. There is no true onsite restaurant or market. We wanted a one stop sleep and eat place for the weekend in Olathe for softball. It was a joke. The bar has a menu of items and the staff didn't know how to make what was on the menu. The workers were laying in the offered pod areas playing on phones when they should have been cleaning the place. The offered pool area was a disaster and you couldn't even enjoy sitting outside. I will never recommend this place. If this was my first ever Hyatt experience I would NEVER stay at a Hyatt again. Luckily I know better and this place needs to get it together and represent the brand way better.

I reserved two rooms for my elderly parents and us. When we got there I realized I had accidentally reserved at the wrong Hyatt Place, the rest of our family was at the Convention Center location. The front desk and 3 different phone calls could not/would not switch our reservations, even though had rooms available. So we headed to the Metcalf location at 3:00, check in time. We arrived to a crowded lobby and put our names on the waiting list to get checked in. We were #8 on the list. Took 1.5 hours to just get checked in. 2 ladies working front desk, one who kept leaving to go help housekeeping with cleaning rooms. Why was there no manager there to help? In the morning, food and coffee was out before end of “free breakfast”.
Not impressed at all. Will stay somewhere else next time.

Toilet was running when we arrived. Breakfast experience was not covid safe. Staff not wearing masks and hot food was self serve where each guest had to touch and remove lids and and touch serving utensils. Plastic utensils were unwrapped and laying out in the open for all to touch. Room was otherwise quiet and comfortable.
