We stayed 3 nights in this hotel, Friday - Monday. Check in/check out was easy and seamless. The hotel is well appointed, with plenty of seating in the bar/breakfast area in a well lit and airy central area. Our suite was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, above average for a hotel. There is plenty of free parking.
I made a mistake in booking with a third party site...wrong date! I arrived with my family of 4 after a 3 hour drive. It was late and we had no room. However, Deloris came to our rescue! As I began looking for other options in the lobby Deloris showed mercy on us and began looking for a room to accommodate us at the price the third party guaranteed...and she did it!!! The room was perfect for us and the breakfast was excellent, but what made the trip memorable was one person who went above and beyond to make our stay both possible and enjoyable. Thank you, Deloris! Embassy Suites is blessed to have you.
This Embassy Suites is an excellent location if you are in the Overland Park area for work. I’ve stayed here three times in the past year for business, as it’s pretty close to my employer’s headquarters. The hotel is slightly older, and you can tell that in the rooms. It’s most noticeable in the bathrooms, so if having a modern updated bathroom is important to you when traveling, you won’t find that here. Although, I do believe some of the bathrooms have been updated. The furnishings throughout the suites are relatively new and in good shape. The parlor area has a great table that can be used as a desk or work space. I like that because it sort of keeps work separate from your sleep. The lobby bar is a great place to meet up if you are staying in the hotel with other coworkers or friends. The evening happy hour is great. And while not WILD by any means, there are always a lot of people chatting and gathered after the workday, enjoying the happy hour. The evening hors d’oeuvres are nothing to write home about, but substantial enough for a light dinner if you don’t feel like leaving the hotel for dinner. The breakfast that is served is pretty decent for a complimentary hotel breakfast. Made to order omelettes, pastries, cereal, oatmeal, sausage/bacon, waffles, fruit, toast, bagels, milk, coffee, juices, tea, soft drinks. Overall, great place to stay if you are in the Overland Park area.…
The hotel was clean and very nice but dated. Staff was very responsive wish they did not charge for parking which I found out when I checked out as it was not located in an area that you would expect. Happy hour was nice and although could use vegetables a day utensils.
Disgusting, filthy lobby men’s room, broken elevator, cold sausage and bacon, and a $25 early check in charge. The front desk people were pretty unfriendly, and Overland Park has the nicest people ever! Rooms were clean. So many better places to stay in the area!
The restaurant was not open. Happy hour was a joke -- Bag of chips. Had to change rooms because of the light next to the bed was flashing. The new room that they moved me too I had to plug in the lights next to the bed to turn them on and off. The new rooms bathroom ceiling was not finished. Sink drains were making sounds after you ran water in them. The pool was gross.
Bathroom door won't close properly and lock. A repairman needs to move the strike plate to close the door. I'm sure previous guests encountered the same issue. Last month, we stayed in the same hotel, and the water in the bath tub is very slow to recede. One can see traces of molds. They don't have 'treats' for Diamond rewards members. We received one at the KC Airport Embassy Suites, and this (bag of treats) is indicated on our mobile app.
We stayed here in two separate rooms and it was good enough but not anything different than any other chain type hotel. Having said that, everything was clean, in good shape, and well put together. The price was not the cheapest but reasonable for what the hotel offers. In short, I will stay again if in the area.
I am a Diamond Member. I stay at Hilton properties a lot. I have 96 nights with Hilton this year. I made a reservation tonight and accidently selected today's date, Oct 25, 2022. I met to select next Tuesday, Nov 1. I immediately called the 1-800 number. The agent said that he would call the front desk at the Embassy Suites in Overland Park and have them modify my reservation for Nov 1. The agent came back on the line and said he needed to transfer me to his supervisor because and he could change the reservation. He said that the hotel would not help him modify the reservation. He transferred me. His supervisor called the hotel and the desk clerk hung up on the Hilton agent. He said," I have never had a Hilton hotel desk clerk hand up on me. To be honest with you that was the rudest person ever." He was clearly upset. He advised that I call direct and coached me to press "0" so I would be transferred to the front desk. I called the hotel direct and the front desk clerk said, "You are the third person to call me in the last 10 minutes about this and I don't care if it was made in error. The reservation only has a 1 day cancellation and that has expired! Then, she hung up on me! I have never been treated like this at a Hilton property. On the contrary they have always been very helpful. Unbelievable! I'll be calling the General Manager tomorrow. Horrible night auditor!!…
I was greeted at check-in by Derek and Elizabeth, two of the friendliest front desk people that I have ever encountered at any hotel. Sooooo welcoming. Received an upgrade to the top floor (18th) corner room. Lots of light and a good view. Had breakfast and lunch in Trofi, the hotel restaurant. Stefania was my server for both meals. What an efficient, pleasant woman. Enjoyed talking with her as I ate. The food was good. Pulled pork sandwich was delicious and the French Toast and bacon were too. It was so convenient to dine in the hotel. All in all, it was a great stay. Will certainly return to this Hilton if my travels take me back to KC.
