Stayed here for a family gathering. The fire alarms began blaring at 6am, due to an electrical outage for several blocks. With the alarms blaring, lights flashing, no electricity and wandering thru the stairwells to the lobby, several in our party were charged for coffee! I was not, but another lady next to me was charged for hot tea. For the price of a few tea bags, a couple of bags of coffee, the hotel could have earned some loyalty, bit chose to instead charge some people for coffee. This hotel is modern and updated in the lobby, kind of super 8 in the hallways and rooms. Beds were comfy, room seemed clean (the carpets were a bit sketchy) and the staff at the desk were great trying to keep everyone informed.
First of all I am a loyal Marriott elite member and make a point of always staying at Marriott properties. I stayed at this hotel on a trip back home. The bathroom floor had poop stains on it. I complained to the desk manager and the manager of the motel. Response was there were no stains on the carpet despite me sending a picture of the stains on the tile.
Was driving though town for our annual trip up north. Place was descent bed was very nice. Pillows plenty of restaurants in the area. We booked though Priceline. If I had a chance I’d come again. See what happens
I could choose to stay anywhere in Kansas City. But I never stay anywhere but here. The staff here make you feel right at home. Actually, better than that!! In particular, the ladies working in the back restaurant are sweet and attentive. You truly feel like you're their only client. And the courtyard area is beautiful and pleasant.
Room was fine. Bed was comfortable. No free breakfast at the restaurant and to be honest, the paid-breakfast was mediocre. (I am not doing a separate restaurant for the hotel restaurant.) I would recommend the site.
We stayed Friday-Sunday nights for a family trip and I don't think any events were on at the convention center, so judging by the parking lot the property was not near capacity. We enjoyed the property - nice and clean, modern, well cared for and well run. Three comfortable nights rest. As with most (all) Courtyards, breakfast was not included. We did enjoy a good rate via a third party booking service.
Checked into the Courtyard in Overland Park and was assisted by the Front Desk representative, Julie, who was very personable and helpful throughout the process. We were only staying one night, but we found the room to be very comfortable and quiet. we had an issue with the water not being hot, and registered our concern to Natasha the evening representative. She assured us that if we let the water run for a short while, it should heat up nicely. She was absolutely correct! We enjoyed a comfortable evening and good night's rest, and when we checked out the next morning, Natasha not only aplolgized for the water problem, but reviewed our bill with clarity and efficiency. Nice job by the Courtyard ladies: Julie and Natasha.
There is a Marriott (not Courtyard) on same street (Metcalf) and another Courtyard nearby (also Overland Park). Pay attention when booking to make sure you are getting the right location. I had business south of College Blvd so this location was ideal within walking distance. I usually stay at the flagship Marriotts and, although a step down, this Courtyard is perfectly serviceable. The rooms were clean, available desk and power, working wifi and now hbo go. The staff is friendly and helpful and the Bistro concept is growing on me. The Bistro has full Starbucks services and products. It's probably more convenient to grab oatmeal and a coffee to go than the business lounges (which now require platinum). Great service over multiple stays by Ben. The nearby Overland Park Grill (down the road and through a parking lot) is within walking distance and a good choice for larger dinners. Beware of a large, ill-tempered and territorial goose that lives in the area.…
I stayed here three nights, while in town on business. This is a traditional Courtyard property, which I really like because it actually has a courtyard with plenty of walk-out and balcony rooms. I had a first floor courtyard room, which had a couple of chairs and a small table on the patio. The rooms was clean and well maintained. The décor is the latest courtyard brand style (see pics). As a Platinum Status holder, with the Marriott Brand, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Requested quiet room ahead of time and upon check-in and front desk said no problem. Put me in room fronting major thoroughfare. After again requesting a quiet room was moved next to ice machine and elevators. Separately, eight police cars surrounded the hotel in the middle of the afternoon due to "disturbance" in the hotel. GM of hotel ignored my follow up. Corporate HQ referred me to same GM. No accountability or explanation.
