Very convenient to convention center. Rooms were spacious, fairly comfortable, and had a fridge, but no microwave. (Apparently, one could use a microwave located somewhere in the lobby.) No free breakfast. Had accessible room, which came with a step-in shower, which was nice, though there was no shelf to put one's personal shower items. Public shampoo and soap dispensers, rather than individually packaged items. Hand soap was a "warm oak," which wasn't the most pleasant smell. (Or, it could have been the sink drain that smelled -- it was very slow to drain, and whenever you washed your hands, bubbles would come oozing back out the overflow hole.) Lobby was a good place to meet up with people, but it was very loud. Elevator to parking area was unpleasantly hot. Overall, it was an okay stay. I'd probably stay here again, but there is room for improvement (for the price charged).

We stayed here back in September for 3 nights while visiting the KC area.
Overall, from start to end, our stay couldn’t of been any better.
The hotel was very empty when we stayed due to the pandemic. It was only at 22% occupancy, however every staff member and guest staying were wearing a mask at all times.
When we checked in, the woman at the front desk was super friendly. She gave us 2 king rooms side by side on the 20th floor. (2012 and 2014)
Both rooms had an amazing view of the surrounding area. The rooms were immaculately clean along with every single part of the hotel. The place is spotless and had absolutely no musty smells or odors. I have stayed at a few Sheratons, and this one by far is the nicest of the 4 total that I have stayed in!!
The bed was extremely comfortable. Probably the most comfortable hotel bed I have slept in this whole year. Not too soft, not too firm. It was perfect. I was very impressed!!
We ended up bringing our dog which was no problem at all. The hotel is super pet friendly!! They don’t charge a fee or anything. You just sign a waiver at check-in. Our dog loved this hotel just as much as we did!!
Overall, our stay at this hotel could not of been any better. The staff were very friendly, the hotel is extremely well maintained, it’s extra secure, (I loved the fact that you needed a key to use the elevators) and the location is very central to both Overland Park and Kansas City!!
We are already planning on returning next year!! I would recommend this hotel to anyone in a rapid heartbeat!!!

I recently stayed at the Sheraton in Overland Park, I was excited to stay here again because I heard they renovated. I got a renovated room back in March, however this time around I asked for a renovated room, and was told it would be a $50 upcharge. SO I settled for an old room, the bed was hard and starting to show its age, the shower and bathroom were nice and the AC kept up on a 95 degree day.
If I am in the area again I will hope for a renovated room of this hotel that is in a great location, and unlike other hotels, don't charge for parking.

Our stay at this Sheraton was problematic from beginning to end. We thought that this was supposed to be a high end hotel. The night we checked in, the entire first floor was completely packed with youngsters at some sort of event. The noise they made was so deafening that it was nearly impossible to communicate with the man checking us in. We could not use the restaurant, bar or any other amenities for our entire 3 night stay as they were packed with kiddies. We arrived late, and when we tried to use the bathroom sink, it would barely drain. Pretty unpleasant. We called to get it fixed, but while waiting for this, we decided to ask the hotel to fix it in the morning while we were out. They said it would be done but when we returned after noon, it had not been fixed as promised. I brushed my teeth in the shower. Later that night we wanted a glass of wine and a beer. This involved scanning a QR code that led to a very limited selection. My wife ordered a cabernet. They instead delivered a white wine in - wait for it - a CAN. She called the desk to get this replaced but was told to go down to the first floor bar, navigate through a gauntlet of kiddies, and finally get a small glass of cabi from an overworked bartender. The sink drain finally got unplugged but the guy who did it had to leave to get special equipment. There was particulate matter in the sink after this. On our last night we returned to the room around 9 to find that housekeeping had not cleaned our room. And on the morning we to fly home, our toilet was clogged. We have had much better experiences at hotels that were half as expensive.

We booked the Sheraton Overland Park for a family trip to KC for our daughter’s 17th birthday. We brought our 11 year old son and our daughter’s 19 year old boyfriend. It was a convenient location for everything we wanted to do.
When making the reservation, my husband asked for a rollaway bed. He was told that would not be a problem. When checking in, he was told there were no rollaways available. If we had been told that on the phone, we would have chosen another hotel. The front desk staff was rude and unapologetic. Not her problem we were lied to on the phone.
Upon parking around back, we took a very slow elevator up one floor to the main floor. The elevator actually stopped while we were on it and we thought we had become trapped. It eventually slowly started to move again. Then we had to walk down the hall to another elevator to take us up to our room. We walked past the pool, which our 11 year old was very excited about because we told him there was an indoor pool. After changing clothes and going down to swim, he and my husband found that the door would not open. Maintenance came and spent several minutes trying to fix the lock. He was able to get in but apparently could not fix the lock and told them (not in English) that they could not swim. Again, had we known we could not use the pool, we would have chosen another hotel.
So up in the room our daughter and her boyfriend wanted to watch a movie on the BFs computer. No free WiFi. For $200 a night we have to pay $18 for WiFi????
This hotel is way overpriced for what we got. Even the one bottle of water in the room was only complimentary for Bonvoy members. We booked this hotel for the pool and anticipating the 19 year old would not have to sleep on the floor. Sheraton did not meet our expectations.

We stayed here for a gymnastics meet that was taking place in the attached venue. Very nice hotel! Beautifully remodeled and clean. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the service was wonderful! We ate there both nights we stayed. You have to use your room key in the elevator to get to the floors with rooms for added security. Pool area was nice and clean and the kids really enjoyed it. It was a salt water pool and hot tub which we love, no harsh chemicals. We would definitely stay again!

We are here on business and after viewing our room we went to the front desk to see if we could upgrade to the renovated rooms. We were told the renovated rooms aren’t open yet, so whoever is saying they are in their reviews are lying or the front desk clerk lied to us. The room we are in is extremely dated. Before we even made it in the room I noted the torn up walls and stained carpet in the hallway. The toilet is leaking, the shower is scuffed and stained. There is no fitted sheet on the old mattress which is covered by a absorbent urine pad. The box springs are in sight. The furniture is beat up. A friend went to take a shower in their room and the tub doesn’t drain. From the way our toilet flushes, I don’t have high hopes. The lobby is pretty but the rooms leave a ton to be desired. I would choose a different hotel until this is fully renovated. If it weren’t a company compensated trip, we would have switched hotels immediately. The only positive to the room is it looks okay clean, but even then, we did have food crumbs on the floor by the baseboard in our room.

Dear wildcats12181, Thank you for the detailed review and I am sorry you weren’t able to see our newly renovated rooms which we hope will be available in early September. Our original 4 floors that were renovated in 2017 are also part of the current renovation which is why none were available. Hope you can join us in the fall as our new rooms look amazing! If comfort and food matter, not the place to stay. Was here while I was sick unfortunately so the creature comforts mattered. Every pillow - even when requesting a foam or hypo allergenic pillow - was thin and easily folded in half. Tell tale sign of old pillows. 6 tries, 6 pillows, all terrible. Dinner nearly inedible. Never knew u could make bad chicken fingers. Gumbo probably too high an expectation. A/C wasn’t working for much of the day. Lovely staff tho.

You would think during the pandemic, the hotels would try even harder to win your business. Not so at the Sheraton Overland Park. I stayed here many times in the past and they were fine. Not great but fine. Now they have no room service, no lunch, and no dinner. At the bar they only have a few hors d’oeuvres and they are served in pre-prepared plastic containers and are. microwaved. The microwaved quesadillas that we ordered looked like they were cooked in the morning and were burned on both sides. The hummus and pita consisted of a little plastic container of hummus and a plastic bag of hard pita chips. The CVS vending machine did not work and the desk clerk said it was not their problem as it is a third-party machine. Once again I understand the hotels Suffering during the pandemic but they should try so that they can come back. This hotel seems as if they’ve just given up.

For a breastfeeding mother traveling on business, I would hope people understand the distress I felt when I came back to my hotel after leaving my room for half an hour at 9:00 am to find someone had come in my room and removed all of my pumped breast milk and my pumps from the fridge and removed my bedding. Checkout time is noon and I have not checked out at 9 am. There was no reason for them to go into my room or remove any of my belongings. When I flipped out and called the manager, they just said sorry and will compensate me for it. They didn’t even bother to figure out what happened to my breast milk and pumps. How does someone compensate me for waking up in the middle of the night to pump so that my baby will have his milk when I come back from my work trip? I had to push really hard for them to tell me what happened to my breast and pump. I was late for my business meeting and so distraught to concentrate for my next meeting. They gave me credit for the night but can not make up for what I had to experience. I do not trust this hotel at all. This was also after I had checked in the night before to find a half eaten sandwich still in the fridge. I had to call services to get the fridge cleaned out so I can put my breast milk in. I tried to overlook that first impression but they continue to disappoint.
