Hotel's Favorite
Alexandra and Kelly at the front desk are so friendly, helpful, responsive.... Those two make this hotel shine! They remembered me from past business trips and that's a good feeling.
There is minimal to no street/highway noise. The water is Hot as soon as you turn it on!
The bed is comfortable. The AC/Heat is pretty quiet - I've had some noise to none at all depending on the room. You ask for daily housekeeping and they don't miss a beat!
The television remote has a sleep timer option and an actual tv guide - score!
The lady in the kitchen (sorry I don't know her name) was always smiling.
This will always be my first choice to stay when in town for business. I might change my mind if Alexandra and Kelly ever leave - just kidding - but they do make checking in fun!

Stayed two nights. A typical HGI. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The AC was quiet. My biggest complaint is they served no breakfast either July 4th or 5th. They only offered $6 bags with a granola bar, banana and a couple of other things. The front desk staff seemed a little peeved to talk about breakfast. Fortunately, we found a First Watch maybe 10 minutes away that was open.

We had to check out and move to the Drury. Glad we did! I don't make a habit of writing terrible reviews but this Hilton Garden Inn Overland Park cost me half a days work and a lot of stress. Thank God for Expedia who got us out of the reservation and into another good hotel.
The room we were given at the Hilton Overland Park Property after check in smelled so bad (from the washroom) we had to move. In fact, the entire floor smelled and unoccupied rooms were left open to dissipate the odor.
We attempted to get housekeeping for 2 days in a row and were told by the front desk, they didn't have enough staff and were behind. We did eventually get our room cleaned but not well done and not during the times (we gave a 3-4 hour window each day) we requested.
The property is aging without reinvestment in need of repair overall. Wallpaper torn in rooms and stained carpeting. Almost no air conditioning in the lobby and older window air conditioning that leaves the room too cold or too hot.
As we were fleeing the property, I noticed a commercial pump in use, presumably to handle the sewage problem creating the fowl odor. That's just my guess though. There may have been other issues we were unaware of being fixed.
With all the above, what is the most disturbing is the fact the general manager, Tyler A. Refused to return my call, text message, or email. I was attempting to give him the opportunity to make things right. Not so much as an apology for our troubles forcing us to turn to Expedia for help.
Every property has issues of one kind or another. When management is not responsible and avoids contact with guests is when I say, "stay away."
Unless you have a free room waiting with Hilton honors, you're probably not going to enjoy anything this property has to offer.
Still waiting for your call Tyler but I'm in touch with your property management company so don't worry. They will relay my disgust with the way you treat people and "manage" this decaying property.
Hope this helps someone avoid our experience.

I have stayed at quite a few Hilton Garden Inn's and while the lobby of the hotel appears to be updated the rest of the hotel needs a remodel/update. I only stayed for two days and was able to deal for that short amount of time. Check in was long simply because there was no one at the front desk to check me in. There was no way to alert anyone and my search for a person turned up nothing. 10 or so minutes later a pleasant young woman booked me into my room. The rooms are pretty mundane, nothing special, the doors are sealed shut with a sticker to illustrate that they have been COVID cleaned, there were noticeable placed on almost every door in my hallway where patches of paint had been painted where I guess the paint had been stripped away on the door by the stickers. There was even a paint roller propped up in the hallway as I went to my room. The first place that I always check is the bathroom. It was simply adequate, the tile and grout showed rust stains and were dingy, the doorway had rust stains that just reaffirmed the oldness of the building. There were several charging outlets and sufficient lighting to make up for any type of central light. I tried to use the pool and spa and again was confronted with the decrepit nature of the hotel. There were copious amount of rust around the pool door and knob, the pool and spa are simply old. I used my point for this hotel stay and this hotel is not a place that I would pay $100+ to stay at, it is simply not worth it. I had very little interaction with staff other than a person who came and told us that we could not sit in the completely empty area and only communal indoor area of the hotel because it was meant for people that were dining at the hotel (there were none present at the time we were there nor had I been told it was off-limits) Overall the visit was simply adequate.

I stayed at this Hilton 4 days apart. Once for business and once with my daughter before an early morning surgery. My room during my business stay had gummy food on the carpet and stains. I stay in a hotel often so I tried to ignore it. When I returned with my daughter 4 days later, our room also had stained carpet but the bathroom smelled heavily like urine. We arrived late and just needed a place to crash so went to bed. When we got up the next morning, we found a urine soaked hand towel stuffed in with the washcloths. That’s enough to gross me out but both incidents tell me they do not have good cleaning procedures. The Lysol stickers on the door and elsewhere are a complete joke. Neither room was even pre-Covid clean! I won’t stay at this hotel again. That’s a shame as I am a frequent Hilton visitor.

The property has the most amazing employees. Make sure you see Gloria at breakfast. If you've been there more than once she'll most likely remember what you ate the last time you were there. Michael and Aneese on the desk are extremely helpful and even Joseph who works in the maintenance department was so eager to take care of his guests. Thank you for a great stay!

Room not clean, carpet in hallways dingy old and torn, walls dirty. When you are spending almost $400 for two nights you expect your hotel to be updated, clean, well taken care of and this one is not. I had to clean my own bathroom before using it and showering in it. There was feces in my toilet, hair on my shower curtain, my heating air broke in the night and set off the smoke alarm.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. The rooms were clean, the service was excellent and we will stay here again when we next we go back to Overland Park. One night we had leftovers and the woman at the front desk immediately got me some silverware.

If you like cold showers this is the place to be…. I called the front desk and was told that no one had said anything yet! Really!?! It was sold out and not one single person said anything by 8:30 in the morning.
