The Drury Inn & Suites Kansas City Overland Park earns high marks for its hospitable staff, who go above and beyond to provide attentive service. The hotel shines with its commitment to cleanliness, maintaining pristine rooms and facilities even during peak periods. Reviewers are fond of the complimentary meals, including a breakfast spread and evening reception, as well as the free parking.

This was truly the best hotel stay I’ve ever experienced!! Every single staff member was so kind and friendly. Hotel room was sparkling clean, breakfast was really good and so many comfortable and clean sitting areas to visit with my siblings and their families that also stayed. Beds and pillows really comfortable. We loved everything about this hotel and will absolutely be back next time we visit KC. Thanks especially to Stephanie at the front desk for making our stay absolutely perfect!

I really liked the fact we could park in the parking garage and cery easily access our room After checking in we didnt have to even access the lobby unless you were eager to partake in the courtesy dinner and/or breakfast. We did not as well were only there for one night. We had a Queen Suite room on the 5th floor. The suite
has 2 separate rooms. The living area has a pull out couch which was ideal when traveling w/ teenagers. The room was clean and comfortable.

We enjoyed a spacious room with a comfortable king bed...the bathroom is tiny and should have a nightlight because the toilet is positioned at an angle that you don't expect and it's easy to miscalculate in the dark. We were not far from the elevator but never heard it, nor did we hear our neighbors, so that speaks well of the insulation. Everyone on staff was friendly. Breakfast was good and well organized, and the happy hour "kickback" every afternoon was a generous freebie (you get a ticket for three drinks per person at check-in!). We liked the location of the hotel as it is not far off the highway and just across the street from Applebees. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice. The common areas are well appointed. The reasons for giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the rates are higher than similar hotels, especially with taxes, and we didn't like anything about the bathroom—super small, and the vanity lights over the sink outside the bathroom door are so bright and weirdly placed that you can't see to put makeup on.

As with the other Drury Inn we stayed at in Mount Vernon, IL, this one is also extremely clean and well maintained and equipped. The staff could not be more welcoming, courteous and accommodating. We had a Deluxe room with one king bed and sofa bed on the 7th floor facing the front of the hotel and it was extremely spacious and very well equipped and outfitted. There is one caution I should offer though. This hotel sits at the intersection of I-435 and Metcalf Avenue, both of which have very high traffic volumes. In our room, there was no escaping the almost constant traffic noise. It is possible that rooms on lower floors or in the back of the hotel may be a bit quieter.
The continental breakfast buffet was good and like we had in Illinois but not particularly exceptional. Between 6:00 – 7:30 pm they also have their Kickback snacks and drinks with a rotating menu of foods and three drinks per person at the open bar. The Kickback snacks and drinks is one of the features that sets Drury Inns apart. Their "Kickback" snacks offer pretty much a complete buffet meal and three drinks for each guest from a rotating menu that always includes salad, soup, a protein and veggies. Unfortunately for us, as we were visiting family and had meals with them we were unable to take advantage of this during our four day stay here.
Getting to the hotel is a bit tricky. While the hotel faces Metcalf Avenue and that is the address, there is no entrance off Metcalf. The two entrances to the hotel are from the side, off 110th street. The first entrance you can take is behind the Indoor Skydiving building (which is a great landmark). Turn in towards it and then around to your right to the front of the hotel. The main entrance is a couple hundred feet past this on 110th and takes you through the parking garage to the front of the hotel. One thing that stood out to me was the quality and quantity of stone and tile work throughout the hotel. I read that the Drury brothers worked as plasterers and tile setters before getting into the hotel business and I suspect that they are still involved in specifying and supervising the tile work in their hotels because it is exceptionally well done.

I would only recommend this place if you have kids, don’t mind them not cleaning the common areas, and don’t want to spend a lot of money on local food. The elevators were down the almost the entire time (I stayed 4 days) not sure why they couldn’t get that resolved first day? They may have been short staffed because no one vacuumed or swept outside of maybe the dining area? There are a lot of kids, which is fine but they would leave wrappers and crumbs everywhere and no one attended to that. The staff was friendly, the room wasn’t super clean, but I was able to handle what they didn’t with some wipes. I think they only focus on the bathroom and bed, which I was willing to accept without complaining. Great location, but I would not stay here again.

Stayed here on a weekday with my family. Very friendly staff at check in. We noticed hotel was very busy. The 5:30 Kickback had just started. We dropped off our luggage at our room and were pleasantly surprised with the size and furnishings of the room. We headed down to the lobby for the Kickback and there was a very long, slow moving line. When we finally get to the front to get our food, the food was less than appealing and my kids wouldn't eat any of it. I didn't care for it either to be honest. Pulled meat sliders consisted of overly sauced mystery meat on stale buns. Other limited food options weren't very good either. So not only was this not a valued amenity, it also wasted a lot of time. We ended up having to grab a bite a close by restaurant. That restaurant wasn't terrible good either, but that's for another review. We did go down to the pool in the evening and it was busy, but well maintained. Our room was at the end of the hall, next to an elevator. The elevator was VERY audible through the walls. Not just for when people were getting on and off our floor, but whenever the elevator was operating. Between the elevator and noise from the nearby freeway, it made getting restful sleep difficult. The breakfast offering were better than the kickback at least, but barely par for a hotel in this price range. We probably won't be staying here again.

Responded Mar 25, 2021
Thank you for commending our friendly team as well as our rooms. Our team prides themselves in taking care of our guests that come to stay with us; reading that you felt we had a great staff and rooms was appreciated. We were sad to read that your kickback experience was not what you had expected. Part of our COVID protocols require us to plate the food items for each guest as a result this may cause some delays as each guest lets us know what they would like to eat. Please know that our menu does rotate each night so we hope that we can see you again and that you may like one of our other food offerings. If you would like to discuss your stay in more detail please feel free to contact us at 913-345-1500. Stephanie W. General Manager

I spent the weekend at the Drury Inn and Suites in Overland Park while teaching a course at a nearby hospital. My room was nicely decorated and comfortable. There was a flat screen TV, refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom was a nice size with excellent water pressure and plenty of towels. The hotel provides body wash, shampoo, conditioner and soap as well as a hair dryer and ironing board. There is a pool and fitness center on site( I did not have opportunity to use them). Breakfast is included and features hot entrees( eggs, sausage gravy, potatoes) , make your own waffles, cereals, bagels, juices etc. Additionally there is a Nightly 5:30 Kickback, which is essentially dinner- soup, salad , and a hot entree with sides and 3 free alcoholic drinks per adult. The staff were pleasant and polite.
The hotel is located near a highway interchange so there is traffic noise. I paid extra for a quieter upper floor room. I was on the top floor(7) and still could hear traffic noise over night. There were both volleyball and soccer teams staying at the hotel while participating in local tournaments so lots of families (as it is a great value with nice facilities for kids). The breakfast/ dinner areas were busy at times.
Overall a nice stay and a great value. I would recommend especially for families with children.

We were visiting KC for a work trip and had booked 2 nights at a neighboring hotel with a fancy lobby and bar/restaurant to stay close to the group we were with. We walked out after the first night at the other hotel due to the lousy room and rude staff. We looked at the options near and after reading good reviews chose this one. We made a reservation over the phone and we immediately had a better experience starting with the phone call. The woman who helped us book our room was incredibly friendly. We booked a king regular room because there were not suites available. Brad checked us in and was extremely kind and helpful. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the sheets were soft, the bathroom door separated the toilet and shower from the vanity which I always appreciate, and it was quiet! They offered adult beverages in the evenings and a light meal. We did not eat dinner or breakfast but from what I saw, it looked clean and breakfast had plenty of options. The coffee was tasty and the grounds were clean. Housekeeping was visible ( that is a huge plus for me, I like to see someone cleaning) and extremely pleasant. My husband travels a ton and has stayed everyone where from 5 star hotels to small town motels depending on what is available, and he said the staff at the Drury was second to none. Every person greeted us and was polite. We wish we had stayed here from the get go and we will definitely be back!

We like this Drury because it is very close to our daughters apartment. We just got back from a 2 night trip to this location and it seems that we always have issues with the credit card when we stay here. This time I used my card and it stated that there was a chip issue so they couldn't take that card so my daughter used her card (we bank at the same location) and it went through. Later that evening I was checking my bank info on my cell and I had two holds to my account for the two nights. So, I went up to the check in and it was the same clerk and she said that she didn't see any holds. Of course it was the weekend and I couldn't get a hold of the bank. I did call the bank on Monday morning before checking out and they removed the holds but they stated to watch my account to see if I did end up being charged because it was possible I would and that if I did I would have to contact Drury to remedy this.
Room was great, bed was comfortable, sound level was sufficient, I like the evening reception with the alcohol. The bartender was great. I am not a big breakfast eater but my husband found something to eat.
Again, I like this Drury, I just don't like having issues with the check in.

My 4 year old son loves to go to hotels- and for Christmas we told him that we would take him to a hotel for a "staycation". He was very excited. We reserved a King Bed Deluxe Room on an upper floor on a Saturday (its more expensive than a room on the main floor, presumably because of noise). Total was $154.70 for one night. It was cold and snowy-ish outside, so we had no interest in leaving once we checked in at 3pm. Room was nice, seemed clean. Room had a desk, sitting area, small coffee maker, small mini fridge, etc. My son immediately wanted to throw his swimsuit on and go swimming in the indoor/outdoor pool. I sat in the large hot tub as I get chilly quickly. After an hour or two in the pool, we went backstairs to watch cartoons for a while, until about 5:30 when we went downstairs to have the dinner that they were serving. It was enough to keep us both full enough to not have to leave the hotel! There were nachos, hot dogs, baked potatoes, chicken noodle soup, salad, vegetables, baked beans, etc. Like an indoor picnic. We're not picky, it was great. They also have 3 drinks from the bar during that time, which were small pours, but nice to have. I got 3 Bloody Mary cocktails with dinner. In addition, they have popcorn in the lobby, which we grabbed some of and took back to our room to snack on while we laid in bed and watched a movie.Went back to breakfast at 7am, got a waffle, some juice, some fruit, and some coffee, but the options were fantastic. Back to the pool (I think it opened back up at 9am) and then checked out right at 11am. My son had an amazing time, and we were only 5 minutes from the house. We will definitely recommend all of our friends and family from out of town to stay here. Keep up the good work!

Hi Porsha B! The pool at our Overland Park, KS location is actually an indoor/outdoor pool. It's half inside and half outside with a divider that can be lowered to the water line. It is heated. So it is open year round.
