Positives/ pros: As one previous Courtyard review said, in all different ways, this hotel has great design and color balance. The suite that I shared with my friend’s family had an impressive large parlor room with a large wet bar countertop surface and cabinets below. I also liked the flow of walking straight into the small passage between the bathroom sink counter and closet from the parlor doorway, then toward the separate toilet and shower room in the back, behind the passage. The bedroom area was situated nicely and privately to the right of the parlor doorway behind the closet. All plumbing and electrical fixtures worked well (including both nice large flatscreen tvs), the furniture was intact and comfortable except for some of the wood furniture which had some wear damage on it. The lobby and pool area were very clean as both the pool and hot tub operated very well while retaining good or decent temperatures. Last, but not least, the staff was welcoming, friendly, accommodating, helpful, attentive, and communicative. The absolute negatives/ cons: The carpet(s) in both elevators were absolutely dirty across each surface. Just large black smeared stains across both surfaces. It didn’t look like they had been cleaned for a long time at all. They both should be replaced and then the new pieces should be cleaned more regularly. If you are a potential guest who is thinking about booking a suite at this hotel, and you are going to be the designated guest to sleep on the pullout sofa bed in the parlor, you need to be a heavy sleeper to do so because there is a lot of audible noise and some light leaking in from the hallway through the gaps around the door and its peep hole. The ac unit (very close by the side of the sofa) and the mini fridge (sounding like the interior of an airplane) were so loud that I had to completely turn off the ac unit, unplug the mini fridge, and put the removed sofa cushions and pillows against the door to block out the light. It was a little too late to the point that I did not end up getting enough good sleep. Remember, it’s better for heavy sleepers to sleep in the parlor, not light ones like me. The very last issue is that there were small pieces of white paper like debris scattered throughout the guest room hallway. Last mixed issues: When I first arrived at the hotel about 30 minutes before the 3:00 pm check in time, I was notified that the room wasn’t ready and I had to wait for it until it was ready. When my friend’s family/ guests arrived a couple minutes after, I informed them about what was going on. A little later past the 3:00 pm check in time, We were informed that there was a shortage of housekeeping staff on duty as it was the case and effect for other hotels as well. It wasn’t something that I was too excited about, but being patient, I got through it by exploring the lobby, talking to my friend’s family, snacking on food and a drink from the Market, and briefly looking at my phone. The female front desk agent kept her word about informing us when the room was ready, being at a time of perfect timing, right before we had to go to our outside event. When we got to our room to drop our luggage off before we left, I was surprised and impressed to see that the housekeeping crew did an excellent job upon cleaning the room. As much as it could have been annoying with the wait, it was worth it. It was all ok and evened out in the end. Also, the three of us were given complimentary Bistro breakfasts for our wait troubles.

This hotel was clean, but needs an update desperately! I stayed on the second floor and my room looked like it could have been in a Motel 6! Outdated wallpaper, pictures and furniture. I expected more from a Marriott. Also, my air conditioner wasn’t working well. Glad I only stayed one night.

We didn't have any issues and are very satisfied with our stay. We enjoyed courteous, helpful, professional staff, all the Titanium perks, comfortable suite, amenities and great night sleep. Pool and hot tub were very nice and relaxing as well. Hotel located in a nice, quiet area, a few miles away from nice outdoor shopping mall and nice restaurants.

We had a reservation for one night. We were impressed by the customer service. We received all the Marriott titanium benefits without having to beg for it and front desk staff were super efficient, accommodating, helpful and professional. I looked into their website prior to booking and it showed the rooms have been renovated in 2015, I think. Our room was clean, bed comfortable, shower had plenty of hot water and great water pressure. We noticed a few things that could be patched up in a bathroom, but it didn't impact our overall stay. I enjoyed the hot tub and the pool. Hot tub was hot with nice jets and pool was heated up to the hotel's definition ( think LA Fitness pools ) and I enjoyed it. Internet signal was strong. Their bistro was still closed ( they said it supposed to reopen any day ), so I can't comment on that. Based on this stay, we would definitely return and would not hesitate to recommend to others.

First of all, the rate I got was a good value—much lower per night for a week-long stay than if I had stayed only a few nights. The room was super clean—I always check the air conditioner filters and they were clean—plus you get body wash and shampoo/conditioner dispensers in the shower, and the shower heads are great. I have all good things to say about the front desk staff at the Courtyard Convention Center. They were cheerful and accommodating, including offering to include shredding several boxes of documents for me, for free. When I checked in, I asked if there would be bottled water in the room and they said no, that's only for titanium Bonvoy members (and I'm not at that level) so I said, "I'll buy water for the rest of my stay but I would like you to donate the first one because I have been traveling all day and I need it right now." They said yes. A few days later, I had family members bring their kids over for a swim and they left my room a mess, so I asked for a vacuum to clean up their spills and extra towels for the wet swimsuit butt-prints on the sofa—staff were good-humored about it. (Nice that they have towels by the pool, too. Not every hotel does that any more.) Then I had three boxes of online orders delivered to the hotel and they handled that for me, plus the items I ended up returning (they worked around my boxes sitting there overnight and most of the next day without complaint). Overall I just found the staff so nice and cheerful the whole time, greeting me as I left and came back, asking if there's anything they could do, etc. The only reason I rated this hotel a 4 and not a 5 is: online it says breakfast is included but that was only on the weekend and there was no sign saying that, so I went hungry a couple of times and if I had paid full price for the room, I would have been upset about that; the printer in the business center didn't work (but then Corey at the front desk gave me his personal email and did my printing for me, which he didn't have to do—he could have sent me to Office Depot); and I would have been more comfortable had the staff worn face masks because Covid is flaring up again big-time in Kansas and the state is not requiring masks indoors but the hotels and restaurants should be setting an example and not just waiting for the government to tell them what to do. Or if they won't wear masks, they could at least wear buttons that say "I'm fully vaccinated" because it's reassuring. At a hotel you never know where guests are coming from and if they've been vaccinated and tested. Finally I do wish the hotel had a restaurant, but I knew they didn't when I booked. They shouldn't really call their dining area a "bistro" because they have very few items and as I said, breakfast not included even though it said so online.

When I booked my stay about 2 weeks before the date, I booked the rate that included a "hour breakfast at Bistro and two bottles of water". The day before the general manager sends out an email with an overview of their property, including the fact that the Bistro is not open. What??? The rate I booked, just two weeks prior stated it was. They knew when I booked that it wasn't open. So you hook me with the higher rate, then you don't change the rate to the"no breakfast rate" when you are unable to complete the contract I agreed to on the room rate?? No water in the room as promised by my room rate contract with the hotel. When you check in, they tell you their housekeeping policy, and ask what service, if any, you would like,. I said just new towels every day. I come back after the day was done. No towels. I had to go get them. If you are going to ask me, then follow through with your promise. Very odd, after I went for my new towels, about 10 minutes after I got back to my room, there is a knock at my door, one of the front desk people had room keys in the paper holder that showed my room number and asked"did you leave these at the desk?". WHAT???? Any traveler knows NOT to keep your room keys in the holder in case you lose them. WHAT WAS THIS PERSON TRYING TO DO???? the front desk can make any room key.... The letter from the general manager also stated you can get a cab from the airport for$40-45 dollars. NOT TRUE. My cab was 83 plus tip . Uber and private car was 100. So exactly what is this cab service??? I asked. They did not provide me the name of the company. Their computer printer didn't work. No one knows how to fix it. The front desk person asked if I tried the other one. The"other one" was for airport flight check in only. ???? NONE of this can be blamed on the covid shut down. Next time I'll spend the extra and stay at the Hilton garden Inn right next door.

I had called in advance requesting to be next to no others in our party, as well as our other party requested the same! We arrive and they did not keep us by our party, no worries it’s not a big deal. My first issue is I’m laying on the bed and see something moving out of the corner of my eye, yep a stink bug. No big deal. It happens. Then, My heat didn’t work in my room, they brought up a foam thing, and that didn’t work. After freezing the night away, I called down the next day to request a repair of the heat (20 degrees outside) I was told their engineer was off for the weekend. I called a friend who is in HVAC repair and he gave me a “quick fix”. Finally, I have heat, thanks to my friend not the hotel! Night two, I hear my child scream about a bug on the nightstand, said bug goes awol, here I am On my hands and knees looking for the bug to kill with my handy disinfectant spray I brought, and I see this under the beds. On bed one it appears to be mold, mens underwear bag (I’m alone with my daughter), bed two is athletes foot cream, again alone with my daughter. Find said bug after an hour and get rid of it. Sound to sleep at 2 am woken up to someone banging on my door, slamming the door across from me, yelling profanity and horrid words. I called 911 because my daughter is frightened over the insane domestic situation across the hall, no sleep at all and not one apology Ummmm Stay at a Hilton!

The General Manager of the property helped me check in she was rude and condescending. She never asked for my ID or to see my credit card. This is concerning to me that anyone could have taken my room. I expect so much more from Marriott staff! I also never saw anyone doing extra cleaning in the common areas and they also had community water and coffee out. This seems like a poor decision at this time. They did not clean rooms and you had to request towels. Other Marriott properties have left bags with towels on the door without you having to ask for them. If you want a hassle free stay with professional staff stay at another hotel.

This Marriott was just what we needed. No parking fees and close to our daughters home. From check in to check out our experience was great. Beds were comfortable, wi-fi worked perfectly, water pressure in the shower was sufficient and the room was clean. We didn't try the eating/bar area on the lobby floor but it looked interesting. We would definitely come back to this location.
