Just finished two night stay at the hotel today. To be honest, very disappointed with the experience. 1. Hotel is showing ages, long overdue for modern renovation. Just check the parking entrance equipment. And the room ceiling near door or bath room.. 2. Due to COVID, many amenity closed including the concierge, restaurants. 3. Front desk refused to offer upgrade despite me being an elite member. 4. The market downstairs has super tiny selection, forcing me to drive around town to grab food for night work. 5. This would be my last stay at this Marriott until signifant improvement made. A few bright spot: Despite limited hours of the starbuck’s, the offered free breakfast at star buck’s and the friendly staff stopped me from giving 1 star to this hotel. Thanks, Wei

Thank you for your feedback weiqiangw2016. We are in the planning stages of a full renovation to our guest rooms, public areas, and meeting space and are set to begin by the end of this year. All of our upgrades are based on availability. Please keep in mind that while our occupancy is not very high, we are following strict protocols which includes waiting 24-48 hours after guest departure before cleaning rooms, so our inventory is minimized. We regret that some of these issues were not brought to our attention during your stay, but truly hope that we have the pleasure of hosting you again soon and showing you what a typical stay at Marriott Kansas City Overland Park looks like. We thank you for staying and for your loyalty!

It’s a Marriott. If you want a professional welcoming staff, clean and comfortable rooms, an on-site restaurant and bar, and an on-site Starbucks, this place is for you. If all you want is a cheap room, keep moving.

The Marriott in Overland Park has two downfalls in my opinion. 1. They still have double beds 2. They charge an $8 parking fee. If you are a member of their loyalty program you can get "free" internet but we still had issues when checking out as we were charged for the internet but they did take it off of our bill. The location is excellent (right off of the exchange). Back to the beds, I really have a hard time with that fact that some hotels and motels still have double beds. Just not the comfort level we are accustomed to. We had 3 adults in the room and a queen bed would have made for a better sleep but that's something that I know now and we will probably go back to staying at the Drury across the street.

Had a meal in the hotel one night which was good, then walked up to the local tap, which you could walk quite easily around the back of the hotel, It was quiet in there.so went to Johnnys Tavern over the road. Had a great meal and drinks. Had a free breakfast the one day which you could pick from a selection off the breakfast menu. The receptionist was very friendly.

We stayed here by virtue of a soccer tournament stay and play package. The lobby definitely makes you think swanky! The rooms are a bit less formal, but still very nice. Slightly surprised to have to pay a parking fee each night we were there. Would recommend taking a seat at the bar and having a KC Bier Company Dunkel! Be warned, the drinks are not cheap! Friendly and helpful staff. Decent group breakfast, but wished the waffles wouldn’t have run out before we got there on our last morning. Full Starbucks in the lobby which can be dangerous with a group of teens! lol!
