Detailed Reviews
We liked it so much we extended our stay an extra night. I thought a ranch might be "roughing it" but was I ever wrong - this place is beautiful (decorated with lovely antiques) and has every comfort. We were in a modern addition to the old farmhouse, which has 2 big bedrooms, each with its own large bathroom, a full kitchen, and 2 comfortable sitting rooms. There are TVs in each bedroom as well as the living room, plenty of books, and a pool table that we really enjoyed. The ranch itself is interesting to walk around and the prairie views are beautiful and peaceful. It's definitely a working ranch with cattle, horses, crops, and farm machinery coming and going. It's out in the countryside but yet just a few minutes to the interstate and to Salina.
The owners (the Wimer family) are wonderful folks - friendly and helpful. We were served a big delicious breakfast each morning and they even kindly catered to our food allergies. They also helped us with all our questions, with directions, and sightseeing tips.
The price ($95/night) was an incredible value compared to other B & Bs, and so reasonable for everything you got here (basically an entire house, which is bigger than mine). I'd definitely stay here again - I could see it being a great place for a family reunion.

"Excellent!" C & W Ranch exceeded all of our expectations. Joel and Nita Kay went out of there way to accommodate all of our needs. The breakfeasts (misspelled on purpose) were delicious and top notch. If you walk away from Mrs. Nita Kay's table hungry; it is your own fault. We really enjoyed the rec room with the pool table to unwind after a long day of work. The plate of goodies was a nice treat. Joel--THANK YOU for your service to our country. We will definitely stay at C & W Ranch again.

C & W is a great place to stay with a lovely staff who went out of their way to accomodate my last minute reservation. Know that this area of KS can be difficult to get reservations in, and the chain hotels tend to be less than pristine. C & W is a wonderful alternative! I stayed in the newer accomodations, which had a great living area and kitchen. Great breakfast, which they arranged to suit my early morning departure.
My stay was during this bloody hot heat wave, so while I didn't explore the property, I did enjoy the spectacular Kansas starscape from their country setting. Close to Salina and easy access from highway.

We had our family reunion there & it is fantastic. They not only provided a free breakfast & served it in our "quarters" but provided a coffee maker & coffee for the full time we were there, as well as paper towels, a full complement of dishes, glasses, cups, cooking utensils, serving dishes, dishwasher with dishwasher detergent, refrigerators with ice maker & filtered water, meeting space, and much more. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get away, especially for a group.

A clean, tasteful, well-appointed home. it's as though the owners said, "Let's build, finish and furnish this place exactly right. We'll worry about the cost later." They certainly got it right! Everything is the quality you would want in your home.
Nita Kay, the manager, is friendly and above all effective. She welcomes you in, quickly tells you what you need to know, answers questions clearly, then turns the place over to you. She's pleasantly conversational as appropriate; not at all syrupy or prying. More like someone you might want to have as a friend.
Nita Kay brings breakfast over to kitchen or dining area, wherever it's needed. This is, as she tells you, a working ranch and the breakfast lives up to that. It's all there, the usual yogurt and muffins you expect at a B&B but with a six-egg ham and cheese omelet and plentiful sausage patties, good sausage patties. Eat it all, take some of it with you or leave some as third or fourth course for the hands when they come in for their noon meal.
The owners are fine folks, friendly but without compulsion to entertain you.
All in all, there is so much to enjoy and nothing to grit your teeth about.

Thank you for a wonderful stay! This was one of the best stays at a B+B ever--lots of space and privacy, immaculate and peaceful. From the homemade cookies on arrival to the huge breakfasts to Nita Kay's attention to detail, my husband and I felt like honored guests and yet, as comfortable as if we were in our own home. If we ever have the occasion to travel through Salina again, we will be back!

I haven't stayed at a Bed and Breakfast in 20 years and this was a great experience... The people are friendly, more home cooked food than you can eat and very tasty... I have a bad back and shoulders and the bed was very comfortable, had no problem sleeping.. I felt spoiled.... As a working Ranch it was quite interesting... I definitely recommend C & W Ranch and will be back myself..

We recently had our wedding and reception at C & W Ranch and could not have been more pleased. The staff was extremely courteous and flexible catering to our last minute needs. The Ranch was available the Thursday before and they gave us as much time as we needed to decorate for our ceremony and reception. They allowed us to cater in our own food for the rehearsal dinner since they were busy preparing our wedding meal. There was a good variety of different food on their catering menu to choose from and we received multiple compliments on how delicious their food was (especially the cheesy potatoes). As part of the price we were allowed to reserve the bed & breakfast for us, our attendants, and some family the night of the wedding so we didn't have to worry about driving back into town. As an added touch, they prepared a continental breakfast (cinnamon rolls, fruit, yogurt, ham, and breads/pastries) the morning after our wedding that we got to enjoy with our family as we were opening our gifts.

C&W Ranch is just a short distance off the main highway through Kansas. A perfect stop for us. The place was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. A warm and accommodating place, a working ranch in a peaceful quiet setting. Nita Kay was so kind and wonderful. A great stay!!!
