For what we paid, I considered giving this 4 stars (or dots). This is one of about a dozen old roadside places on US 54, all of which look about equal in upkeep, etc. I'm pretty sure this was built as the Frontier, around the mid-'50s. It's been drastically remodeled, and the pool and western section of rooms are gone. It has a good location just a few blocks east of the bottom of the main drag up into town. We thought the neon-lit eaves were really charming. Our rate, on a Monday was just under $52, including tax. The room was medium-size, and clean. The bathroom had nice new modern tile, which looked a bit DIY. Of course I was sad not to get an old tile bathroom. Fridge, microwave, flatscreen and wifi were all provided. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were clean, and the room was quiet at night. Really all we could ask for, but the next time I might try the Ranch across the street just to check it out.…
Old fashioned park at your door motel. Good WiFi. Pleasant management. No alarm clock. No coffee. A gas station a few doors down for morning coffee. $45 room ended up being $57. Only drawback was our gps couldn’t find it. There is a section of rode here where the even numbers are on both sides of the road, but we did find it. Clean. Decent linens.
The room was functional, but it need of renovation. The bathroom walls had broken tile in large cracks, the toilet was unstable, and the furniture shabby. The heating system was very noisy and inefficient.
I was traveling through Liberal and wanted an older style motel where you park right outside your room so my car would be close by. I drove by the Kansan Motel and turned around and went back. The price was reasonable, so I stayed. The good: The room was clean, there was free wi-fi, the bed and bedding was way above the quality that I expected for the price. (the bed was as nice as some motels that I stayed at where the price was double what I paid at the Kansan. The bad: The bathroom was a mixed bag. Good quality faucet on the vanity, cheap toilet seat that needed to be tightened, and in the shower the hot water was on the right instead of the customary left side. That should be easy to fix as the plumbing has been re-done with cpvc in a soffit and running across the top of the ceiling. Easy access to switch sides on the hot water if the owner wants to. The furniture looked like it was collect from garage sales, but was clean and serviceable. Would I stay here again? Maybe. The Motel fit my needs at the time, and it had it's good features. I got a good night's sleep at a reasonable price.…
This time Room 1. Very comfortable full size bed - nicely made. Everything old but in working order. Good AC (95 outside). Owner, Mr. Bhakta was very courteous and helpful. I was incorrect last visit: the motel is an L, not a U.
