The rooms were clean. Thats the only good thing I can say about it. There is an awful aroma in the lobby that persisted the 2 days we stayed. We were charged $30 more per night than the price quoted over the internet. When I objected I was lied to about getting a discount if I signed up for a Choice Privileges membership. I was refused a military discount and I was called a liar in front of other hotel guests. They advertise a "Complimentary" breakfast but there was none unless you consider coffee breakfast. We travel frequently and have stayed in many luxury hotels in Canada as well the U.S. but never have I been so humilited as the couple running this dump made me. If you stay here hold your nose and be sure and get your price in writing before you check out!
The room was clean, comfortable and roomy. It had both a chair and a sofa. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Service was good. We were pleased with the accommodations. The only negative was the lack of individual outdoor access to the rooms. I find that much more convenient that a central indoor hallway.
This is an older Econo Lodge and you can see where they have made some improvements and others need to be made. Our room had two double beds, although they groaned when you moved they were comfortable. Room had a new hardwood style floor, flat screen on the wall, fridge and microwave. The bathroom was clean but the shower head was really low. I am only 5.11 and I had to bend down. But water pressure was good. Room was large and comfortable for the one night. Breakfast was old school Econo Lodge and was just some pastries, cereal and coffee. Across the parking lot was an IHOP and over the road was a Pizza glut and Popeyes, so plenty of choices. There was also a gas station right next store if you needed anything else. We picked this hotel as we were coming through KC heading back to MN and this was close to the Sporting Kansas City stadium (20 mins drive)…
I just passed through this area recently to visit with a friend and was fairly impressed with this hotel. The rooms are smaller than most other hotel rooms, but it was very quiet and I had a very comfortable bed and slept well. As an added bonus my room came with a refrigerator, microwave, iron and ironing board. For one person it was very adequate. The breakfast here was ok.
The Econolodge was not my first choice, but the only available motel when I was traveling to Ft. Leavenworth. I had some trepidations when making reservations, but my worries were unfounded. Plus, pricing was excellent, and my party of 4 was able to stay in two rooms rather than one, which is an upgrade when it comes to sleep and bathroom time. This is an older facility without the bells and whistles newer hotels have, so some of the finishes are dated. While the hallway is carpeted, room floors are wood-look tile, which I really like from a cleanliness perspective. The beds had fresh sheets, and the blankets were OK (unlike something in one of the reviews). The bathroom was very clean. Front desk staff were excellent. The lady at check-in (Linda?) was very friendly, gave me some helpful hints and when i was filling our water bottles saved me the time by handing me bottled water. An unexpected and nice gesture. The gentleman on duty in the morning was also very friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed our conversation with him. Breakfast, as expected, was simple and limited cold fare and included cereal (raisin bran and something else, instant oatmeal), breads/muffins, yoghurt (activia) and fruit (bananas), and juice. However, there is an ihop down the road where econolodge guests get a 30% discount for anyone who needs something fancier. Overall the econolodge is good value for money.…
