This would be an ok place to go for their weekday or off peak prices but there is NO WAY we would ever pay the $600+ a night they're asking for over the weekends. We stayed 2 nights and parts of 3 days. The hotel is in need of major maintenance when you look past the fuzzy creatures and water. Our room had 1/2 roll of toilet paper upon arrival no extra (had to ask 2x before we got more), hair dryer fell off the wall when I attempted to use it, sheets for the bunk beds were too big therefore creating a frustrating situation for kids when they moved around and for parents trying to continue to fix them. The food is WAY overpriced. The best meal we had there was the pizza (which was decent) and the PB&J sandwiches we made in our room. The staff was really hit or miss. You'd run into someone that looked like they hated every minute of their job. Then you'd have someone who was overfriendly and almost make up for the previous employee. My oldest son, 11, mentioned one of the lifeguards had been rude to him after being splash while he was returning a tube. My personal opinion is they need to overhaul the whole hotel, complete staff training and reevaluate food prices before they could ever justify charging the nightly prices they do. Overall my children had a great time and that's what the visit was about. But I am just thankful we paid weekday prices. We actually felt bad for the people checking in for the weekend knowing what they forked over for their stay.…
We stayed overnight for my daughter's birthday and had a really nice time. We come to GWL at least once a year, and this experience was a little different due to Covid, but it was still fun. Only one person can check the whole party in, events are socially distanced, and masks are required in the public areas. Our room and the waterpark were very clean.
My family met up for a break from reality. There were 9 of us from 4 years old to 64 in 2 separate rooms. Our room was a Bear Suite (248) with a bedroom, sofa sleeper, and a queen bed, kitchette and counter for 4 people to sit at. The rooms were clean, the park was set up for social distancing and every one followed the mask rule. The arcade was well cleaned and there were hand sanitizer stations everywhere. The water park was the best yet because the resort isn't booking full capacity. I know this is a hardship for them but it was so nice to not have long lines. The lobby activities were well done and safety was a top concern everywhere. It was a great stay. We did notice some upgrades as well. The smelly elevator carpet has been replaced with vinyl flooring and our bathroom had been redone.…
We recently completed our 6th trip to the great wolf lodge, KC venue. I have to say that this place never gets old. We had more fun on this trip than any other trip we can remember. The longest we waiting in line for a slide was under 5 minutes. The hotel was extremely clean and we saw staff constantly disinfecting surfaces. We booked early and got a great deal. We were able to check in early on this trip and began using the water park immediately. We spent a solid 10 hours in the water park during the 24 hours we were there. I highly recommend this place as a weekend getaway with the kids. We will be back again soon.
We were able to check in earlier than 4 pm, which was great and saved us some time. Our room was very clean and met expectations. We changed immediately to head to the water park. It wasn’t busy at all, which was awesome. We never had to wait longer than a few minutes for the water slides. The lifeguards were great and friendly, and we saw employees cleaning constantly. We felt completely safe during our middle of the week stay, and would have no hesitation in going back. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and greeted us. My 9 year old loved the dance parties and crafts. My 6 year old enjoyed the arcade, and the huge selection of games available. Bear Paw Sweets and Eats has a delicious caramel frappe and yummy desserts and breakfast goodies. All of our meals were on site, and we enjoyed them all. While they were expensive, the convenience was worth it. Next time, we probably would bring snacks to save some money. We saw plenty of families with coolers to save even more money. We downloaded the app, and it was so helpful with activities, menus, and our personal assistant that answered questions quickly! Next time, I would get one of the pass options for our kids because they did want to do everything, but we only stayed two nights which wasn’t enough time. A few small things that irked me. Our bed did not have a fitted sheet, or a sheet tucked in to cover the mattress topper. I thought this was odd. The sheet that was placed over the mattress topper was on upside down. I used to work for a hotel, so this bothered me. Lastly, our room refrigerator did not have a dial to turn down the temp, so everything we placed in the fridge froze.…
