This is not a destination hotel and Goodland, Kansas is hardly a destination location. It IS a place to stop as you drive I-70 on the way to other places. So for 45 bucks this is a really OK place to stop and crash for the night. My room was clean. Everything worked. There was nothing in obvious disrepair either in my room or at the hotel overall. The hotel is about a half mile off the Interstate but it is within sight of the interchange and easy to get to. And the distance means that the road noise is greatly reduced and the rooms are quiet! To be fair, the place is quite dated but it's not falling apart or ragged. Many rooms were empty during my stay. I think there is close to 140 rooms at this old hotel all together. It was originally called the Buffalo Inn for anyone who might remember. I stayed here before, years ago.…
To start with, I'm not bragging. I'm a diamond member so I'm just qualifying myself before you hear what I have to say. I stay in hotels in average four nights a week. I hate it, especially when it comes to this. When I complained about the guests, just a few Doors Down, I complained about them dragging a chair out, 12 people in the room, delivering a case of beer to the chair in the parking lot, and I was asked by the front desk if that bothered me. Really ? Does it bother me ? What the hell kind of stupid-ass question is that?? Does Goodland Kansas hire this type of management? Again I say oh, what the hell? I will never stay in this hell hole again.
I needed a place to sleep at 1:00 am and the Rodeway Inn served the purpose well. It apparently just switched from being a Best Western. It's an older property on what used to be the main highway before I-70 was built. It's not far off of I-70. Front desk clerk was very friendly even at that time of the night. Room was large and clean. Bedding appeared to be newer. I couldn't get the TV to work - I think it was a wifi issue - but it didn't matter because I just wanted to go to sleep. FYI, they have the fridge and microwave unplugged when the room is empty. Breakfast room was large and cheerful with a nice assortment for breakfast including boiled eggs which is usually my go-to at properties that include a full breakfast. There was also a waffle machine, cereal, biscuits and gravy, sausage and eggs. I think I paid $56 + taxes by quoting a Hotwire price. I'd stay again.…
This is a pretty decent place. At first look, it’s old and unkept, but the rooms were clean, very clean with decent sheets and towels. Yes, it’s slightly run-down, but for a short stay, it was fine. All the folks that work their are very nice snd breakfast was decent. Nothing special, but a good, economical stay.
We stayed in three different rooms for my family of 10. We asked to see the room before staying just to make sure it was fine and the rooms looked okay! We stayed here and no one had anything too negative to stay. Definitely not a high class place and rooms are older but things seemed clean enough and there weren't any big concerns. The breakfast was good and there is a waffle maker which is nice. We ended up leaving behind a briefcase on accident and once we realized it the hotel owner was very helpful in trying to figure out a plan of action to get it to us when we were 8 hours away. We ended up driving back due to needing the work laptop sooner rather than later, but he was willing to box it up and mail it to us and was quick to communicate with us. When meeting back at the hotel the owner was very friendly and it was clear the briefcase had not been pilfered through. Thankful for the honesty and good communication through this situation and would recommend staying here for the great price, good showers, and comfy beds. …
