If you're looking for a special place to stay, this is not it. The place is tired and falling apart. If you're on a budget, the camping experience would be better. The food is lack luster, the rooms are basic, the only redeeming factor is the view.

The location is amazing, and we have to say: It is special to have a swim while a family of baboons strolls around! The staff are all extremely kind, congratulations to whole team and the manager. Last but not at all the least -we loved the extra king size double bed - a wonderful treat after a day off for...

The only place you're able to stay in Akagera unless you're camping, the lodge is a little tired but with substantial rooms and friendly staff. Good menu, and you might also strike lucky and be staying when the Mongolian buffet is the special

Akagera Game Lodge is within easy reach of Kigali and one can drive down for the weekend. The lodge is well situated with great views of Lake Akagera. The lodge has nice suite cottages and a great launch pad for a game drive into the park.

We arrived late on the first night from Kigali and were pleased reception staff were still waiting for us and meal was still available. The rooms are very big, clean and have balconies. Great ensuite. The monkey and baboons and added attraction, bit of nuisance, but funny watching staff chase them over roofs!! Otherwise security good. Bit cool for us...

There you meet one group of baboons whith they residence near the hotel. There is a nice view of Ihema Lake, and you feel realy that you are in...

Priced at $120 (incl. breakfast) per double room which is rather cheap for the location in the middle of a safari park, the hotel is very decent: the renovated rooms have massive beds, good bathroom facilities, and great view (and balcony) of the Lake. The restaurant is decent (Rwanda is not a culinary destination), the set menus offers a couple...

After reading other reviews we had some doubt when booking this place, but decided to go for it given the too big price difference vs. Ruzizi. This turned out to be a perfect choice! This lodge is in reality more like a hotel than a true lodge. That is what you pay for, that is what you get. If you...
