We have always really enjoyed staying at this hotel in the past and La Quinta's in general for that matter but we won't be coming back to the one in Dodge City, Kansas. It has become very run down. There are two ice machines in the entire hotel. One was completely out of order an…
We first stayed here in 2013 and enjoyed the experience, except for amazingly thin towels in the bathroom. At the time, I rated the hotel a 4 and we've revisited it many times since then. That includes an overnight in late October that probably warrants an updated review.
Efficient check in, room was ok but needed freshening up, breakfast started later than it should and was very average. I could do better but with a pet it's as good as you can get. Bed was moderately comfortable, pillows hard and uncomfortable.
Usually I stay in LaQuinta because of my Cocker Spaniel. Most are just ok. Some are terrible. NOT THIS ONE. This was the nicest, cleanest LaQuinta I have ever been in. The suite was roomy & very clean. I will stay here every time I'm in Dodge City.
My rating is based on the need for renovation of the hotel. Paint, wall repair and new beds would bring the rating up. At the front desk Josselyne was great. I'm always looking for local restaurants and she provided list and her recommendations was perfect.
"First floor, elevator was really slow"
"Upper floors have a better view"
"Had fridge and microwave in ours, with a whirlpool in one area and full bedroom area. We had a suite."
"Go down the street"
"Unless you are in need of a handicap accessible room, do not get 108, it needs a remodel and the pillows are hard. Has walk-in shower, no places for your toiletries except on the floor or out in the sleeping area. Door appears to have been opened with a wrecker bar."
