Steak, Fish or Pizza for $10 ! What more could you ask for. These guys have got it right and the 100s of people that make the trip from surrounding areas or hop off their bike for these dinners are confirmation of that. As with all the establishments we visited on the ORT - you actually get to meet and...

After a wet and windy ride from Ranfurly the Hotel was very welcoming. 11 girls all stopped for lunch and ended up drying our wet clothing around the fire. Pumpkin Soup was the order of the day and went down a treat. I couldn't get reception on mobile to phone ahead to our accommodation so the owner allowed me use...

Waipiata was our 3rd and last night stop over on the Otago Central Rail Trail. I stayed in a room in the hotel while my friends stayed in the Motel Units. The accommodation was brilliant. The shower was piping hot and the bed was so so comfortable. My slightly weary body really appreciated this. It was my best night sleep...

We stopped on our way south doing the Otago Rail Trail ... Mark was so nice ... The coffee was excellent and the black Doris plum and cream cheese muffins were very delicious. The menu looked Devine and Mark comments about the lamb shank pie being very popular.... Defiantly worth stopping by if u get a chance

Waipiata was my second night stopover on the Otago Central Rail Trail. I stayed in another place but had dinner at the historic Waipiata Country Hotel. It was Friday evening and the hotel was crowded and had a good vibe. Locals mixed with rail trail travellers and guests from Dunedin and other places in the region who just arrived to...

A visit to the pub is highly recommended. We had organised alternative accommodation in Waipiata but stopped in to see what food was available for lunch. Mark organised 10 takeaway 'meat and salad' sandwiches for our hungry group while we rested in the lovely outdoor area and the kids played darts. We got doorstop sandwiches with freshly roasted pork and...
