My husband and I rate our stay at the Heavenly Habitat as one of the best parts of our 2 month USA and Canadian road trip. Nancy and Steve were such a great, interesting couple and the accommodations were just perfect. We came thru Winterset on a whim and are so glad we did. The location was close to town and the breakfasts were so good that we are still talking about them. We have highlighted this place as one of our "return" trips. This is the way a B & B should be.

This is our second visit to Heavenly Habitat. Everything is perfect. Steve and Nancy are fabulous hosts. It's quiet, clean, private and Steve served the best peach crepes possible. The location is walkable to town and the park.

My husband and I were traveling near Winterset, IA visiting wineries and seeing the covered bridges on the 4th of July. It was near 6pm and we still had a 3hr drive to get home so we decided to see if there were any B&B's available last minute on this holiday. We called Heavenly Habitat and Steve answered the phone! They had a room open, and they would leave the door open. When we arrived both Steve and Nancy were up and showed us around. The space was spacious, yet private. The bed was comfortable and each room had it's own bath. The common area was large, and beautifully decorated. There was a full kitchen and nice deck to enjoy the evening and watch the fireworks. Breakfast was incredible with poached eggs, blueberrry french toast, sausage, juice and coffee. Steve and Nancy sat with us during breakfast and we enjoyed wonderful conversation with them and the other couple staying there as well. This is a beautiful, peaceful and friendly place to stay. We will definitely return. Thanks Steve and Nancy!
