A lovely pub located on the Pilgrims Way in Thurnham Kent. A very good selection of beers including some from the Westerham Brewery. An excellent food menu at reasonable prices. I had the seared calves liver which (although not everyone's favorite meat) was delicious and melted in your mouth. My wife had the Chicken French Style with pan fried vegetables... More

A lovely Country Pub with a friendly feel. I stayed on a business trip, the rooms are 'chalets' in the grounds of the hotel. They are basic but very clean and modern. Food at the pub was good and the staff were very friendly.

As a couple with a young child we don't get many date nights! So when we do, it's rare and therefore somewhere we try to pick carefully. It's been years since we last ate here and it was great then. As it had been so long we were unsure if it would be as good as we remembered. It didn't... More

I have literally just left the black horse, I felt compelled to write a review immediately. Haddock croquettes, delish, especially with the sharp tang of pickled cucumber. Tomatoes & bocconcini, creamy crispy yummy. Rib eye, without a doubt one of the best steaks I have ever eaten, Cooked to perfection, gorgeous char across the meat. Even the fat was soft... More

Stumbled upon this accommodation whilst looking for somewhere to stay whilst attending a wedding in the area. The rooms were purpose built off the main Pub. Ample parking and a nice room with all of the usual creature comforts. Ate in the restaurant, where there was a good selection of food to meet all tastes, some good real ales. Overall... More

We came as a group of 4 for my birthday and had a lovely evening. The staff were extremely helpful, attentive and friendly despite being extremely busy. We had a drink in the bar first, the bar is small so difficult to get a seat on a Saturday eve but the drinks were very good, cucumber slices in my gin... More

Having seen the generally positive reviews, my wife and I came here for dinner on a Friday night. The pub itself feels very welcoming serving a nice selection of beer, and although I had expected the dining area to feel a bit more restaurant-like it had a nice relaxed atmosphere. We were then shown to our table which had a... More
