Went for a dinner with some friends on Monday evening and booked in advance. We were seated in the conservatory area (not really a conservatory area but it's the last part before you reach the garden). The starters were delivered promptly although they did take a little while to originally take our order. For the main course, two of us... More

Went for a meal with my husband. The staff are very attentive and prompt. The food is lovely and there's a large menu to choose from. There was a good Ale selection, including ales from local Brewers.

Stayed here last weekend for one night for a family wedding. Despite catering for 60-70 people, the food was great - lovely moist chicken followed by a delicious cheesecake. Rooms were basic with standard size double beds, but perfectly comfortable.

We had been meaning to eat here for about 18 months after hearing such good reviews. We booked in for 8:45 on Friday evening which was still very busy. The service wasn't what I had expected, a few staff members didn't seem to know what they were doing- scatty. The food was average, not as good as I thought it... More

After hearing rave reviews about this place and the best stake around my partner took me for my birthday. So little to choose from we asked if we could order from the far more appealing bar menu as it's available until 6 and it was only ten minutes past. Even after explaining that he could not enjoy a single thing... More

A bit of the beaten track but it was well worth the short detour. The accommodation and restaurant were excellent. The inn is a gem, centuries old but guests are accommodated in purpose built cabins that have every amenity (hairdyers, coffee/tea making facilities, iron board), better than many places charging twice as much. The cabins can be accessed from the... More

We remembered this pub for its excellent range of fruit wines and were looking forward to sampling a couple again. The waitress told us the pub had changed hands about 5 years ago! However, we enjoyed our lunch of sandwiches, local beer and wine and would certainly return.

We stayed for 1 night in a large, comfortable, well appointed and clean room. The rooms are 'chalet style', arranged in smallish groups all set a little distance from the main building, ensuring peace and quiet. The iron and ironing board in the wardrobe are a welcome touch, as was the umbrella fixed to the back of the door in... More

Very nice starter for us both (mozzarella balls and duck fritter). Main needed more sauce for the pan fried plaice but the shoulder of lamb was very good indeed, fell off the bone! Cheeseboard derived of two mild and two strong, however would not recommend any of the cheeses to friends or family. Service very good, ambience very good and... More

Another birthday meal here. Can't fault the food, delicious! My partner always has the scallops as they are always cooked nicely. Service was quick and efficient. The only fault I could find is that the waiters were not that friendly and I felt although they asked if we enjoyed the meal they weren't really interested in our answer. We enjoy... More
