Caution, you need to book for pass to climb Mount Kinabalu to get to this place. View is incredible, every necessities you need is here. Luxury is limited, room with hot water is limited. Better get the rooms in the main building, somehow it's heated, other accommodation is being constructed now. Food is good. Then again, food will always be...

Rooms were clean and sufficient for a 1 night stay to rest before the next climb. We were actually surprised that they even provided towels and those hotel slippers. Only thing was that the water runs on solar energy so come sun-down or if it rains and there is no sun, the water is freezing!

I found this lodge a nice place to rest before climbing the mountain. The buffet was ample and the lodge was clean and comfortable. Very busy place and expensive to buy water and snacks, but is expected when porters have to carry everything in!

We climbed Mt Kinabalu on Christmas day so we spent the previous evening and night in Laban Rata guesthouse. We stayed in Buttercup 2, these rooms are the non dorm rooms so we had a bit of privacy and a private bathroom. Upon arrival we were given a warm welcome and headed straight up to the room for a hot...

This is the place you rest for a few hours before continuing summit push next morning as the one day summit trip is no longer available at this point in time. All the facilities are very basic as you can read from other reviews. The food is surprising good though or maybe I was hungry after the hike. The girls...

Room was clean, we were in a dorm for 4, very little sleep as other people in building quite noisy and right next to bathroom. Food good and there was plenty of it. Really need to sort showers, no hot water at all. All in all, does the job.

Does the job! No other options but gives you what you need - food and a place to lay your head for a few hours! There is a shop that sells chocolate, crisps, bottled water, biscuits and other snacks. They also sell nice home made cup cakes! Dinner is served from 16.30 pm and is a buffet. Food plentiful but...

After a hard days climbing, and with another days worth to come, Laban Rata Lodge is exactly what you need. A bed, a buffet and a shop. The views are incredible, and it's perfectly placed between the day climb and the path to the summit. Because of what it is it has the tendency to get quite crowded and quite...

Your choices are pretty limited in terms of where you're staying on the mountain, but this is a damn good choice. Food isn't exactly going to be michellin starred but it was bloody good given the fact everything has to be carted up the mountain by hand. Dorm rooms are comfy and beds are a decent size, staff were also...
