I stayed for 3 nights in the dorm room. The beds are pod style with two curtains you can pull together (kind of) for privacy. They're quite comfy but the pillows aren't great. Being the mountains, it gets very cold at night. The lodge supplies a duvet but if, like me, you suffer from the cold you may need two.... More

The view from the lodge is beautiful! We upgraded our room within minutes to get a balcony so we could make the most of it. It's incredible! Sitting on the balcony with hot coffee and a book after a day of trekking was like paradise. We shared a cab from KK to the entrance of the National Park and then... More

One of the closest more budget friendly lodges near to the park headquarters and the big climb. Basic accomodation with friendly staff, few amenities and a verandah view out over the hills. The entrance driveway is a hilly km and another easy km walk up to the park. Food here is very basic and there is minimal hot water and... More

We were recommended to go there by other travelers, and it was just the best. The view from the balcony is outstanding, we could just sit there for hours and watch the clouds and lights change. The owners are really friendly, it felt like a home. Food was good (and vegetarian! which I liked). Place is clean, books to read,... More

Comfortable lodges, friendly staff, great dining, perfect location. We couldn't have really asked for more. After arriving at Mt Kinabalu headquarters we completed the arrivals process with the staff and were escorted to a very comfortable 2 person lodge. The lodge had an en suite shower/toilet and a king sized bed. It didn't have air conditioning which resulted in the... More

It's a beautiful lodge that offers private rooms or dorms. I stayed in a dorm; the beds are built into small bunks with curtains. You have a plug and your own lights in them. At night it can get a bit chilly since you are up on a mountain, so maybe pack a pair of good pj's and some socks;)... More

Very nice place on a beautiful location. Perfect hangout to explore the area and trails around the mountain. Friendly staff, good vegetarian food and very clean bathrooms. A bit high priced but definitely worth the money. Wooden building can be a bit noisey though

This is the most serene accomodation I've ever stayed in, it is located deep into the hills away from the noisy main road. It has a patio with a great view, especially at sunset. The rooms and beds are clean and appear mostly new. The bathrooms are very clean and nice. The family that runs this place are so lovely... More

Wooden lodge set on a hillside about 1km from main road up a steep but driveable track. They do a tasty inexpensive vegetarian dinner and breakfast of scrambled eggs or egg sandwiches which you can eat on the terrace over looking garden and foothills of Kinabalu. They offer a free bird watching tour but unfortunately the guide was unavailable while... More

It's an amazing view! The staff where super friendly and the food average, though good fuel for the climb! The tea was delicious. Make sure you have enough snacks, water and cigarettes if you smoke. As all supplies have to be carried up it is expensive, how-ether hats off to the strong porters! I shared a dorm and unfortunately the... More
