This Indoor Waterpark and Hotel stay was exactly what we were looking for, for a night away with my daughter-in-law and 4 yr old granddaughter. The weather is to cold to find other things to do this winter, so I called this resort the night ahead and booked us a room for the next day. We live in Nebraska so took the 2 1/2 hour drive to a place we’ve never visited before or had lots of time to research. 1. The check in desk very friendly and we got our room an hour ahead than expected. 2. The room was as explained and very clean, enough room with 2 queen beds. Super comfortable. 3. The indoor Waterpark was perfect for my granddaughter, she enjoyed it all and we also had a blast playing in the pool and using the slides with her. The concessions staff very friendly, the pool was clean. We did find a table to set our stuff and eat a snack after some time as others were leaving, it does quiet down with guests around 5, lots of littles playing and lifeguards right there watching at all times. 4. The restaurant perfect, so clean, waitress super nice and no wait times on a Sat night at 6:45pm for dinner. Food Great (salmon was yummy) and the prices will amaze you!! strawberry Margherita the best I’ve had in sometime. 5. Breakfast buffet inexpensive and enough to pick from. Again, very clean environment snd friendly waitress. If your looking to get away and have fun with the kids, I encourage going…
5 hour road trip for 2.5 hours of swimming total. We had plans to swim all evening & entire next day. Upon check in the lobby was full with people waiting to check in. The woman checking people in was very rude. She stated rooms weren’t ready there were 90+ check outs that day. She was sitting in a desk chair only thing you could see was her head. We had our luggage in tow, 10 of us. We were able to get into the pool and wait for our rooms. When we got to the pool it was a mad house. Zero seating. Restrooms were a mess, used tampon applicators on the floor. The room was like a sauna. There are not lockers or anywhere for you to store your belongings except a chair or table. Which were completely full. we pieced together a place for our group to eat. Concession Lines were long. Several people working but only one window open. One of us adults had to stand with the luggage while one constantly had to go to registration to see if we could check in, after being told they would call us when we could check in. One Hour and a half later we were finally allowed to check in. We kept the kids swimming, one of us grabbed a luggage cart & took all of our belongings to the room. Right when we were finally able to relax and get in the pool after watching our belongings, getting checked in late & getting a few open chairs. Someone pooped in the pool!!! It was disgusting! They closed the pool down. ( no swimming for the adults was to be had ) The lay out is super confusing for first timers. The building is very old & starting to show its age. Very very dated. Our room had a broken toilet seat screw that slid around every time you’d sit on it. The tile was starting to come off the wall in the rest room. They had thin comforters on the bed not very plush or comfortable felt like a sheet. The remotes did not work for the tv. The pull out living room in the sofa had chips mashed in it. And the sofa folds out and hits the tv stand. If I were a tall person my feet would have been in the tv. The building is getting old you can hear every foot step above your head. Teens were running the halls knocking on all of our doors pretending to be “house keeping” The next morning the kids were excited to swim after the pool had been drained & ready to go. 9 am the pool opened. The chemicals were so harsh they were all choked up and coughing after 30 minutes. Once again we had to break up because half the kids had to swim the chemicals off. I was able to swim in the lazy river, hit the water slides and play basketball. I too have had a burning in my chest from the harsh chemicals, Lasting through the night. ( dad didn’t get to swim at all because he had to tend to the kids that had chemical coughs ) Check out is at 11. At 10:30 there was a house keeping woman standing in the hall with a clip board marking who had left. I found it ironic with their inability to check us in on time. The evening desk staff was very kind & checking out. Much better experience than the first impression we had upon trying to check in: The view was pretty.…
Terrible the excuse they were fully booked. Okay, don't sell out your rooms if you can't jeep up. When I said something to the manager, she responded "I have other people to deal with" customer service 👎
Really showing it’s age. We also had the joy of very little hot water. Indoor water park was very hot and steamy. Almost unbearable. Not terrible but certainly not great. They do have a nice looking restaurant. We didn’t eat there but it had a great view of the lake.
I only gave this a three for one reason and it was that this place is in need of a face lift! The rooms are very clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The water park is nice and the kids enjoyed it very much. They have plenty of sun beds outside and shade. The restaurant was good. The service was slow but it seems to be that way everywhere anymore. I would defiantly stay there again!
So me and a group of my friends went to king's ponite water park and it we had such a great time! there's a lot to do in one day and the people who work there are very welcoming and the life guards keep on watch for our safety.
My group of friends wanted to go to the water park so we decided on Kings Point. We were very excided to have fun and splash all day! The lifeguards were super nice and were very attentive on are safety. Though they were low on food they were still very nice. At the check in table they were super nice and wanted us to have a fun day. Their program runs smoothly. We were very happy with the staff at the end of are swim! We could stay there for weeks and never get bored!
The staff was great to work with from calling in our reservation to checking in and helping us while we were at the resort. The rooms were very nice and clean and we enjoyed the small patio overlooking Storm Lake. From our eight month old grandson to the grandparents, we all enjoyed the indoor waterpark. We appreciated that there were lifeguards on duty and they were very attentive. The Saturday morning breakfast buffet was plentiful, good and hot. Complimentary coffee at the front desk was handy as we headed out. Very beautiful and well-kept inside and out. We are already planning our next family visit here, hopefully when we can enjoy the outdoor waterpark. Special kudos to Janet at the front desk. She was so very pleasant and helpful.
We were told this was one of the nicest hotels in town. If that is true I can not imagine what the other hotels/motels are like. We understand that COVID has caused hotels to limit their housekeeping and amenities, however you would think that would mean hotels would try harder in other areas..like keeping the common areas maintained and customer service. The hallway carpeting on the hotel room floors are filthy and stained. The bathrooms have missing tiles, peeling wall paper or leaky fixtures. The front desk staff could not be less interested in what they are doing. The restaurant is open sporadically - closed for either “renovations” or “maintenance” but nothing apparent seems to change. To top it off, the fire alarm went off twice while we were there in the middle of the night causing all the guests to congregate in the lobby until some manager showed up 30 minutes later with a key to turn it off (we never saw any firemen). Not one explanation or apology from the resort. I heard the the City of Storm Lake owns the property - which would explain a lot. The City should sell the resort to a company who will maintain and run it properly.…
The setting of this hotel is just Beautiful! Had a lakeside room and I was blessed to be able to experience such a stunning view. The grounds and connecting park are so nice. My stay was mid September so can not comment on waterpark or swimming facilities. Would definitely stay again!
