During my recent stay at Oakwood Inn, I experienced a rejuvenating and exceptional journey that redefined my expectations for accommodations. From the moment I arrived, every aspect of my experience was meticulously crafted to provide an unparalleled level of comfort and satisfaction.
The inn’s charming and cozy ambiance enveloped me, creating an inviting atmosphere that was both refined and inviting. The grounds and surrounding nature center offered a serene escape, allowing me to unwind after a day of travel. The meticulously crafted amenities, including the exquisite bedding and delectable breakfast served in the early morning, elevated my stay to new heights.
Oakwood Inn stands as a testament to the enduring value of exceptional hospitality. Its commitment to providing a memorable experience for its guests is a beacon of hope in an increasingly competitive travel industry. I highly recommend that anyone seeking a memorable stay in Iowa consider booking a room at Oakwood Inn, should its availability permit.

Beautiful grounds, great room, amazing breakfast and just a great experience. Bridget greeted us and gave us recommendations for our evening. Quiet rooms. Stayed in the hot tub king room which was large with plenty of areas to sit. A bit cold for the deck but enjoyed watching the deer in the morning. Highly recommend if you want to reconnect with your spouse every once in awhile.

We loved our recent stay at The Oakwood Inn. Our room was spacious, with outside access to the beautiful backyard. Gorgeous peonies were in bloom. We enjoyed several outdoor areas designed for relaxing with a morning coffee or evening drinks around the patio. Access to the den in the home was a plus. We appreciated the complimentary drinks in the den refrigerator, and coffee/tea in the kitchen area off the den. The owners went above and beyond to provide a unique, delicious breakfast each morning. Our stay was truly delightful!

If you want to want to feel pampered in a splendid B&B, on a lovely property with delightful owners and staff, come to The Oakwood Inn. We were visiting the area for a family reunion, and there couldn't have been a more perfect place for us to stay while in the Okoboji area. Our large king room had a shared veranda overlooking their beautifully tended large yard/garden, so we enjoyed a delicious boxed breakfast there each day. Our room was very clean and refreshed each morning. ( I'm not a fan of in-room soaking tubs, so did not use ours.) Complimentary cookies and mini-beverages awaited us. Did I mention the easy access to an adjacent (paved!) walking/bike/stroller nature trail? Comfortable air-conditioning provided a respite from the hot Iowa weather after our walks. All in all, a wonderful experience with innkeepers Bridget and Bill, who truly care about their property and your comfortable stay!

The Oakwood Inn was an excellent stay. The grounds were very nice, the huge Oak Trees were majestic and impressive. If you need to refill your water bottle after hiking, there is a water machine and the water is NOT city water the Oakwood Inn has its own well. The breakfast in the morning was also excellent. Would stay here again.

Extremely clean place and the outside area is peaceful , warm & welcoming, very relaxing with a handmade creek with running water , to your own deck where you can eat your breakfast outside or in your room or downstairs in the dining room with other guest where there is a piano and music is played while you are eating. The property was beautiful inside and out. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and filling. Just a couple minor suggestions were to have temperature control in the room it was too warm for us for sleeping. Also the owners had a fish dinner and when we came back to the property that night we were greeted with a very strong fish odor throughout the B &B. With that said we would come back and recommend to others. Thanks

Jim - thank you for your recommendation of The Oakwood Inn. We appreciate your honesty in your review. The heat in the rooms are all set to 62 degrees so you can utilize your fireplace if you need heat. The unseasonably warm temperatures has impacted the guestroom temperatures and we unfortunately cannot heat & cool at the same time. Had I known your room was warmer than you liked, I would have been happy to bring you a fan to help. I also appreciate knowing about the odor of our dinner. We definitely did not want it going throughout the house and apologize you had to come back to it. We look forward to seeing you on your next trip to Okoboji!

The Oakwood is everything you want a Bed & Breakfast Inn to be. The property is lovely inside and out. Number 1 feature for us - The bed was so comfortable!! The rooms are spacious with a table (w/ 2 chairs) as well as 2 very comfortable sitting chairs and a fireplace. Bridget and Bill are pleasant attentive hosts and the breakfasts are a 3 course delight. The special touches are many from the Den with all its entertainment features, snacks & beverages to the homemade cookies in constant supply at the front door to the bathrobes and special shower infuser. This stay was worth every penny. It was especially nice to return to its peacefulness after spending time in the crowds and chaos at the Winter Games.
We will be back! Thank you

Oakwood Inn's beautiful setting and welcoming atmosphere are just the beginning of a fabulous B&B experience! We loved the very comfortable, spacious room we had and really enjoyed the access to the deck, where we could sit and appreciate the vivid late autumn sunsets and sunrises, and bird watch! An additional plus is immediate access to the nature trail right outside the front door with your choice of length of walk.
Bridget and Bill provide many thoughtful amenities, such as a coffee station that offers coffee, teas, hot chocolate, plus fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies. Their breakfast is outstanding! Endless hot coffee refills, fresh fruit, a delicious baked treat every morning and a substantial main course protein that sustains you for hours! We enjoyed our stay immensely and would highly recommend Oakwood Inn for a lovely stay in the Iowa Great Lakes region.
