Detailed Reviews
We went there twice, first in 2022 and then in 2023 and we intend to go there next year, too. Everything was perfect at this hotel. We had a family room. Large balcony with great view to Mount Olimp. The rooms are very clean, the beds are extremly comfortable and large, AC in every room. The rooms are very well organised so that the parents have some intimacy even if they share the room with their children. They clean the room and change the towels every single day. The cleaning personal are extreemly honest people, we had no problem to leave our money and stuff in the room. There is a safe in every room, also. Everybody was very helpful and nice, they do anything to make sure that you are relaxed and feel comfortable. The pool was clean and never overcrowded. The food is excelent, very tasty. They affer you high quality food, breakfast, all inclusive and a la carte. Most of their food comes from local suppliers. The prices are very correct. The menu is suitable for children and adults, great diversity and very good taste. The deserts are delicious. Their main restaurant offers both traditional Greek dishes and dishes specific to the areas where most of their customers come from. The beach is near the hotel, maybe 50-60 meters. The shore is covered with sand. There are a lot of places to visit around( the Castle, Dion ancient museum, The Old Village, etc.) . They serve a super-super tasty pizza!!! Extremely calm and friendly people. This is a perfect place for the relaxation and rest you are looking for on vacation. The music is very relaxind and never too loud.We were treated as friends, not just as clients, and that made me feel very good. I really felt that our presence there was appreciated. I strongly recommend this hotel. Cristina ILINCA(Cluj-Napoca, Romania)

Hotel located between sea and Olympus Mmountains, suorunded by lush greenery we consider to be the best place to rest well and calm down, away from hustle and bustle. If you looking for entertainment - it is not place for you .Unquestionable advantage is a close proximity to the sand-pebble beach (water shoes recommended) Beach chairs are available if you buy something to drink in the beach restaurant. All rooms are renovated and clean without regard for standard. Staff are very helpfull and polite. All inclusive meals were very tasy-(good cuisines )prepared on basis of local products. Es far es alcohol drinks is concerned hotel offers only local brandy, ouzo, white and red wine and beer, but you can buy others. All services I consider to be well done. Beautiful surroundings, breathtaking views, peace and silience you find in this place.Your limit is the sky.

Excellent. Very clean!Nice food. Enjoyed staying. It will be our number one destination for all our trips to mount Olympus and the surrounding areas!
It is the perfect place to stay for short or extended holidays. The rooms were very clean, the beds were comfortable, the A/C was perfectly set to cool the room. The bathroom was impressively clean. The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis ( towels etc as well).
The pool was great and very clean ( cleaned every day) and never overcrowded ( Lifeguard was present from the opening until closing)
The food was always fresh ( breakfast/lunch/dinner ) and very well cooked.
Each and every employee was extremely helpful with anything we may have needed throughout our staying. Everyone was very friendly. The beach was very close to the hotel (like one minute walk to go there)
We would have to try to find a flaw during our staying, but everything was perfect!!!
An excellent choice for everyone.

The first time i 've been there i ate pizza that tasted super fine as they have wooden oven. The second time i was there i ordered cooked food which was mediocre to bad. My shrimp pasta (frozen shrimps-they write it in the menu) was with some shrimps not well pealed in the body and the pasta was not cooked properly (sic); big chunky red/green pepper bits amomg pasta that was difficult to eat. The "carbonara" pasta they serve is NOT carbonara but pasta with white cream, beacon and mushrooms. The "caprese" salad was not caprese because it had rucola but not basilica (tha motzarella balls were not fresh). So, recommended for pizza and the swimming pool in the back otherwise the food sucks.

Small hotel, nice swimming pool, children's playground, relatively clean rooms, inside the drawers were dirty. The food in the all inclusive package is not worth it. Lots of frozen chicken-type fish bites, sausage pies, frozen doughnuts, the sweets were something creamy and putty and the unlimited consumption at the bar was a disappointment as what you got was diluted with water. I wouldn't go again......

The food was miserable, very frozen, very disappointing for the money. Too much pork with fat uncooked tortillas, and the highlight the sweets were corn flower type creams every day in different colors that were so thick they wouldn't fall off a spoon.f bar if you are all inclusive you can drink soft drinks that don't taste like soft drinks as they have to have water in them so that they are diluted. I wouldn't recommend it... Nowhere on the internet, not even a sample. signal

Hotel San Panteleimon is like a dream. The perfect room with beautiful view. The staff is amazing. They’re always kind, nice and give heart into their work. It's so close the beach
In the hotel is the swimming pool which has always clean water. Lifeguard still take care of people there. He’s friendly and always helpful.

We have spent a week (middle of August) in the hotel, with all inclusive option. San Panteleimon Hotel is mostly renovated, the staff was very kind and helpful. It is located almost 2 hours bus ride from Thessaloniki Airport.
Upon the arrival we had some problem with the room – we were accommodated in a wrong (unrenovated) room, not the one we had booked in the travel agency. Eventually, thanks to understanding and huge help from Ioanna (reception) we were moved to a different room – deluxe double – new, comfortable and in accordance with our reservation.
The final room (deluxe double) was on the 3rd floor (301). It wasn’t big (standard hotel area), but fully renovated, with mountains view. In the room there were huge and comfortable double bed, flat TV set with satellite channels (mostly greek and a few in foreign language), modern bathroom with shower, big mirror with LED lights, toilet, sink on a big desktop, shower gel, hand soap and small samples of shampoo/conditioner. There were also quite big wardrobe, bedside cabinets, modern lighting, small fridge, big desk, electric kettle, cups, glasses, a few tea and coffee sachets, as well as towels and slippers. There was a balcony – very long (because room 301 is at the beginning on the floor), with a table, two chairs and a big dryer. The room has a modern and quiet air conditioner – free of charge. The room was absolutely perfect, modern and comfortable.
The housekeepers were cleaning everyday.
The hotel restaurant was big, renovated and very nice, with table inside and outside (both from the pool and the street side). The food was quite good, sometimes there was a little smaller choice, but there was no problem to choose and get well stuffed. The cuisine was mostly European, with some Greek dishes (moussaka, souvlaki) a few times. During the meals the restaurant staff members were checking if each guest felt well, they were also taking dirty dishes all the time.
In the hotel there was a very nice pool, not big but enough. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas around. Next to the pool there was a nive and big bar serving all inclusive staff – alcohol and soft drinks, very tasty ice-creams (four flavours).
Beach – very wide and sandy – was just a short walk away from the hotel. The only thing a bit disturbing were camp sites along the beach (beach entries), full of loud families making barbecues all the day, with loud music coming out of the campers.
Despite some descriptions, the town (though small and cosy) jest quite loud – during the day many people on the beach, in the evening buzz on the street (games rooms, cafes, bars).
From the hotel you can take a walk up to the nearby mountain to Platamon Castle, as well as Platamonas town by mini road train. The best (and only - we decided for that) way to get to Thessaloniki is to take a train from Leptokarya – you have to take a taxi from the hotel (a few minutes ride, cost 7 EUR). You can ask the reception members to call the taxi – no problem with that.
To summarise, the hotel is really nice and modern. The biggest pros are the modern and comfortable rooms (except these waiting for the renovation) and extremely nice and helpful staff (especially reception desk – Ioanna and Athena). At this point we would like once again to thank Ioanna for her big help with changing the room and her patience and understanding. Ioanna – thank you very much.
We absolutely reccommend staying in San Panteleimon, to everyone – single, couples and families.
It was really nice holidays :)

Not sure if we will be doing justice to this hotel in writing this review. The San Panteleimon Hotel is modern, clean and all the staff are very friendly - nothing appeared to be too much trouble if you required any assistance. Our room was large with modern shower room and a couple of complimentary toiletries. The room also featured a fridge and a safe (no extra charge). Our balcony was big with a lovely pool view and had good quality chairs and a table. Not sure if there is an option to do any other than be on all inclusive, but on surveying the area around the hotel, this was definitely the right option. The food however in our opinion was only adequate and very basic, with not much variation between lunch and dinner. Good choice of breakfast items, but whatever meal you had, was luke warm at best. Most people like their food hot, and therefore they either need to get better hot plates or invest in a microwave. The dining room was modern, but felt like a canteen with no atmosphere and the hotel lacked a separate area just to sit and have a drink on comfy sofas and chairs. Yes, there was the pool terrace, but at the end of the season it was cool for sitting outside. The hotel also as a pizzeria, but this was not operating, presumably again because it was the end of the season.
It was the last week of the season for Thomas Cook and you could tell. Our rep did her best to make the area and the trips (2) sound great. No entertainment in the hotel not sure if this was due to the end of the season ?
The all inclusive drinks package was acceptable and operated between 11am and 10pm. The beer and wine were hardly the strongest. There was also gin, vodka and brandy on offer. The hotel's pool area was good with decent sunbeds and chairs and all drinks were served from the pool bar.
Unfortunately for us the weather was not in our favour, with only 3 days of any substantial sun out of 7. The nearest other resort was Platamonos, which we walked to. It can be reached view an old railway tunnel and line. It was 3 miles there and back. Taxis can be arranged via reception, but perhaps it would be a good idea for the hotel to run a courtesy bus a couple of times a day to this resort which had more in the way of cafes and bars. There was even a Marina.
All in all the hotel is fine and if you are looking for a week of doing nothing on all inclusive then it would be OK. The problem is the so called resort/area it's positioned in. The Greek economic crash has definitely played it's part here ! it felt like the town had been abandoned. Everything was closed down and some taverna's/bar didn't look like they had been open for year's. The only places open were 2 supermarkets and a bakery/coffee shop.
Sorry, but Thomas Cook has got it's work cut out if they want to advertise this area and hotel to the british tourist. On one final note regarding the luke warm food. On our day of departure, we were picked up at 7.30am. Breakfast is served from 7.30am until 10am, however the hot food was already out and displayed at 7am. No wonder we never got to sample hot bacon or fried eggs.

Response from San P, General Manager at San Panteleimon
Responded Oct 9, 2018
Dear Miss Helen G We would like to thank you for your review, all customer opinions are very useful for us and we take them into serious consideration. Concerning your stay in our hotel, we would like to thank you for spending a week with us and we are very happy to hear that you liked our rooms and facilities. In your introduction you kindly state that maybe you are not sure about your review and the justice of it. We totally understand that since your holidays took place during the last week of the season in October and unluckily you had really bad weather with rain and very low temperatures. Something that affected the whole destination and the shops in the area. If you had came a week earlier, or in the beginning of the season then you would have had a totally different experience. Concerning your comments about the food we will take them into consideration and we will improve it since we are planing a lot of improvements for our menus for 2019. We would be really happy if we could see sometime again in the future Sincerely The General Manager

We didn't hire a car during our stay but the hotel reception are very helpful and would be glad to recommend a company. It would be well worth emailing them to ask the question.
If you turn left out of the hotel and follow the road to the end by the galleria bar, you can either take the road to the right up the hill to the castle or actually go through the back of the galleria and through the tunnel , you can follow the old disused railway line to the next town. We walked up to the castle and down the other side and then got on the the old railway line to the next town and it took around an hour but on the way back we went through the galleria ( the railway tracks lead you to the tunnel entrance and the tunnel lights up as you go through ) and it took around 40 minutes .
The transfer is at least 2.5 hours I guess it depends on how many stops they have to do going back to airport we went a different route which was near on 3 hours
You can purchase drinks after 10pm there are a few restaurants you could get drinks at but if you like a walk probably 35 mins you should go to galleria it's lovely there
The transfer took about 2 hours 30 mins, but it was fine. The bar is open after 10pm, for paid drinks. The Hotel is brilliant, lovely room and the staff are excellent. There are a few hotels on the beach, but not any bars around as such. I am sure you will have a lovely time.
Hi my husband and myself went in June this year. At the moment there is no clubs for children or activities. But there is a room being done at the moment, which is going to be for children. When we went there was quite a few children around. Mostly they were playing in the pool, there is a small round pool for little ones. The beach is only fuve mins walk from hotel, but children would need shoes for stone along shore line. A few shops around but not much to be honest. The staff and rooms are lovely, ice cream available during the day. All inclusive stops at 10pm. We didn't go out, while we were there, but cabs will cost about £7.00 each way. If the children love water and just playing around they will be fine. But if not perhaps Thomas Cook would exchange to another holiday. Got to say we loved it!
"the rooms overlooking the sea are very good, just as good are those towards Mount Olimp which offers a very beautiful view."Read full review
