This was our 3rd stay at Hotel Pattee and was better than ever. Each stay has been in a differently themed room and the decoration is always fun, artistic, historical, and luxurious. We enjoyed a couple of games of bowling in the onsite alley and wonderful meals from Chef Katie! As usual, we brought our bikes and tooled up & down the Raccoon River Valley Trail. Looking forward to the connector to the High Trestle Trail. Included a visit to the Forrest Park Museum and Perry Grand Theater in Perry.
Stayed at this beautiful boutique hotel at the recommendation of a colleague. The warm and welcoming entry provides a glimpse into the history and character of the small town in which this hotel is centered. Excellent staff and the chef prepared an amazing meal with an appetizer that was ‘off’ menu. Take a brief walk around town and experience the charm, local businesses and hospitality. Even for an overnight stay, it was plenty worth leaving the big city and a departure from the major hotel chains.
The Pattee was recommended by a relative and we did not expect such a beautiful hotel in Perry Iowa! You have to read the history of it, it is quite fascinating. The hotel is true to its beginnings, and each room different. It is perfectly maintained, all meals are excellent, and the staff is friendly. It is right in between two bike trails that will ultimately join up in Perry, the Raccoon River Valley trail system and the High Trestle Trail. It is absolutely beautiful, even a bowling alley in the basement. Can’t think of anything but positives to say about it. This is in Perry Iowa, northwest of Des Moines.
We stayed at the Hotel Pattee last Friday night. Check in and parking were simple and convenient! The check in staff were helpful. We had cocktails at the nicely done bar and dinner at the the Pattee Cafe. We also had breakfast there before checking out. The Cafe is not overpriced and had solid Iowa style entrees, not world class but good! Hotel Pattee is a grand 100 year old plus Hotel in Perry, Iowa, a small town near Des Moines, Iowa. The restoration was a work of care and love. We stayed in the Italian Room, which was very comfortable. The arts and crafts style hotel is very well restored and maintained and squeaky clean. The workmanship, wall murals, original art work and Stickley furniture everywhere in the hotel are very nicely done. We understand that the rooms are each done with a different theme. The Roberta Green Ahmanson family did a nice thing for her home town. When we are near the area again, we will stay here again!! B&R…
