I do not know where people stayed if they rate this place a 5. Beds are wore out, dirty floors with bugs. Shower was so gross my wife wouldn't use it. Mold on the ceiling and walls in shower. AC unit was overly noisy. The place is old and it shows. For the money, I will go up the road next time.
This is a nice little motel. Nothing fancy but the room was comfortable and the host was very friendly and helpful. I really liked that most of the guests were middle age or older which made for a quiet stay.
After a pleasant night I left behind my backpack and didn’t discover it until 300+ miles later. Called the next morning and the lady cheerfully retrieved and shipped it, arriving at my door step 3 days later. Thank you Evergreen!
Love this place!!! Try to stay here whenever in the area. Small but very welcoming with only 13 rooms (I believe they told me). Owner and staff go above and beyond to ensure stay is all you could want. The little touches like evergreen trees on the bedsheets, ensuring AC/hear on to comfy level before your arrival add to our love of this place.
As a traveling health care worker for the past 15 years I have stayed in hotels and motels all over the United States. Most of the places that are clean, friendly , and comfortable are PRICEY . While on an assignment at the local hospital I stayed at this establishment for four months. The building is a bit dated. However, I think it adds to the feeling of days gone bye. The rooms are VERY clean. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms never had so much as a water spot in them. Both the management and the staff always greeted me with a smile and a word of encouragement during one of the most trying times in recent American history. The Covid Crisis. While you won't find a wet bar or a mint on your pillow, you will find a great place to stay at an affordable rate. I would recommend the Evergreen to anyone looking for a great nights sleep close to the Des Moines area.…
