Mondays & Tuesdays in McGregor are slow days. No restaurants or shops are open. Our B & B was bed & bath, with no breakfast available. Room small but clean & comfy. For a one night stay it was perfect.

A stay in McGregor, Iowa, takes one back in time. This 19th century river port and railroad town, eclipsed in the twentieth century, has tried to revive its fortunes by attracting tourists. It’s failure to thrive has a sad but quirky charm. For example, the Saturday farmers’ market in August comprised a table of baked goods and a solitary saxophone... More

Was expecting a room with a taste of yesteryear, and got what I expected and wanted. Located on the second floor above a "saloon". The furnishing were as expected, though one piece was a bit in rougher condition, the top finish had wear spots, and a drawer needed repair and was hard to pull out. It was quiet the first... More

This establishment was awesome. Linda and Todd went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They greeted us with smiles and a gentle spirit. The rooms were clean and quaint. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone but most important they welcome bikers! Thanks so much for being so nice to us. You left a mark on... More

This room went beyond what we expected, spotless and decorated in period furniture. A plus was a lovely clawfoot tub in the bathroom and a comfortable porch overlooking the main street. We loved it and hope to go back.

loved the clean and comfortable room and darling town. walked 1 block to have drinks on the deck by the Mississippi River and later walked to dinner at the Mexican restaurant. Got some after dinner drinks from the gas station and sat out on the terrace by our room.

My husband and I took a 3 day weekend on the motorcycle for our 10 year anniversary and this was our stop the first night. I can not tell you how much we loved this little place. It was SO clean and comfortable and the best place we stayed on our trip. We absolutely loved sitting out on the porch... More

The rooms are good sized, clean and comfortable. The pillows could be better and the only window in the room was too small to cool the room which necessitated running the AC even though the outdoor temp was in the upper 50's overnight. However sitting on the old style wrap around porch the morning drinking coffee overlooking the central area... More

Nice old building with a full 2nd story wrap around porch where the rooms are. Our room was large and nice, with a good bathroom, coffee maker, refrigerator, wifi, and cable TV. But the best part was the porch area where you overlook the nice triangle park and watch the people and birds go by. It's "downtown" but quiet as... More

We were looking for a hotel near McGregor and were pleased to find this quaint room in the middle of town. The room was clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Furniture are period antiques so there is a lot of charm in the room. We were in Room #3, which had a queen sized bed. Easy walk to many restaurants... More
