This property is amazing, even if you are not a Frank Lloyd Wright aficionado. The attention to detail is impressive. Very luxurious feel without a luxurious price. The staff is very friendly. My only complaint isn't the hotel's fault. The park across the street is filled with very sketchy people. For several hours in the middle of the night I... More

Came to Mason City for both the Hotel and all the Frank Lloyd Wright/Prairie School architecture and was not disappointed in either. This is a great small hotel and returned to it's original 1910 glamour with all the amen amenities one would expect today. Lots a history, great staff. Choose an "expanded queen room" for a few extra $$. Wonderful... More

We stayed at the Historic Park Inn for two nights, midweek August 2016. It was a lovely place, the staff was friendly, the restaurant very nice. The hotel is full of nooks to sit and read. They have a small fitness room. The bar is comfy and has a billiards table. Mason city has a wonderful Art museum, as well... More

I have been FLW fan for many years and visited many of the homes & building he designed, so I was very excited to stay here. The experience FAR exceeded my expectations. Walking into the lobby I was bowled over by the quality and beauty of the renovation. It seems no expense was spared to get everything just right and... More

If you are close to Mason City and need a place to stay, try the Historic Park Inn. Refurbished very carefully to represent the Frank Lloyd Wright influence you will enjoy all the details of this period. Rooms are small and the view from your windows (the rooms not facing the park) are pretty dismal; but you can almost forget... More

What a place! It Is well worth the visit to this small hamlet in the middle of Iowa. This gem of a hotel, which is immaculate, well preserved, and welcoming is worth the trip. The renovation of this hotel was wonderful. Request the park side as the other side does not have the views that you want!!

Stayed for one night and enjoyed the very clean, romantic and historical hotel in downtown Mason City, IA. Built in 1910 and beautifully restored. The lobby and reception area is true FLW and there is also a sitting area on the second level. Our bedroom had the unique windows and feel of FLW but with modern day comfort. The price... More

Being a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural designs it was wonderful to be able to stay in a hotel he designed. The suite I had on the third floor was wonderful. It consisted of a sitting room, bedroom and bath. The furnishings were true Wright designs. A cosy sitting room with sofa, chairs, a desk and a large screen... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Historic Park Inn Hotel, together with City National Bank, of Mason City Iowa were designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright as a dual purpose building and completed in 1910. The design greatly influenced architecture in Europe and is as striking today as it ever was. The Park Inn Hotel is the last Wright designed hotel in the world, and has undergone a nearly 20 million renovation; the restoration of the distinctive brick and terra-cotta façade as well as art glass windows has restored the Prairie School building to a functional hotel. The interior, while renovated into a contemporary hotel, has public areas and guest rooms restored as closely to Wright's design as possible. Art glass and much else designed by Wright remains. Public area furnishings are period-style and include reproduction Robie House Lights, reproductions of the Mercury statues Richard Bock and Wright designed for the bank, and reproductions of the barrel chairs Wright designed for the bank directors' room. We invite you to come and stay with us in the center of the many area attractions Mason City has to offer. ... more   less
