Nice holiday, but think it was not a 5 star hotel, we have stayed in better 4 star all inclusive resorts. The food was good, the house wine was of poor standard. The dinning room in our part of the complex was too busy so we tended to eat in the new part of the hotel. Our room was OK, it had a great sea view, but we thought the decor was a bit tired. The entertainment was limited and everything finished early, although in some ways that was good as there was no late night noise. Unfortunately the couple we went with were very dissatisfied with their stay.

We won our stay through a competition, so hadn't done any research prior to going. This place is fantastic! From the welcoming Receptionist, to the easy location from Airport, and the stunning city of Chania (go for a day trip you wont be disappointed!). The food was amazing (at both restaurants), only tip was they needed more functioning highchairs (which I fed-back and they have taken onboard!) Amazing Kids club, so much energy and so many activities. Spoilt for choice for pools and sunbeds. The rooms were stunning, we stayed in a loft suite. Only thing they needed was a stair gate for those with little kids. The beach it beautiful, the kids play equipment is fantastic. I mean, if you are hesitating to book this place - DONT! Just book it and GO! You wont be disappointed... Now to get back to work so I can save to get back out there again...

We are a party of 12...6 kids (5-8 years old) and 6 adults. We booked kiani beach way back at Christmas and weren't disappointed. Let me give you the run down from start to finish...there is lots I wish we'd known ahead of time so this should help you all round! There are 4 key things and lots of info...see below! So..... Lets get to it. When you arrive, the reception staff were really welcoming. You'll get your room and be taken there so you don't get lost! You'll also be give your all inclusive wrist band. Key fact #1: pay for VIP (ahead of time or at the desk on arrival for €5 a day). The drinks on offer are just fine and standard coffee and g and t was totally quaffable... But for the cocktails, decent coffees and pedalos alone, it's worth it. A gold band will be all yours and you will have the ticket to a brilliant (and drunk) holiday. Try the strawberry daquiris and mojitos...also, the middle shelf drinks (e.g. Rum, Baileys and other named drinks) will be all yours. Worth mentioning pop, water and ice cream are available ALL DAY. Brill for the kids. We stayed in KBR1, the slightly older original part of the hotel. It is older, but suited us fine. Don't expect 4 star as it will disappoint, but don't expect hell, because it WASN'T...dark wood, not as swish bathrooms etc...not horrific and potentially not what we'd consider 4 star in the UK... Expect 3 to 4 star. KBR2 is the new site across the road. You can use both sites as your own...no requirement to stay in a particlular place. We regularly switched....all facilities e.g a beach bar, kids club, pool, beds, restaurant etc are available in both. We preferred the KBR2 restaurant pool and club but all down to preference than any being better or worse. The entertainment in the evenings swaps around in the 2 sites too... Again, review the schedules posted around and you can make your choices. 20.30 is always the mini disco and the entertainment usually started after. We would like to mention the Greek dancing night and also the belly dancing. Great fun! The movie night for the kids was also a welcome break for the grown ups. Lights out is at 11pm prompt which was great for the noise and putting little ones to bed etc. Kids clubs....slightly less structured than we've experienced before but certainly no less brilliant. They run 10.30 to 13.00 and 16.00 to 18.00. Loads and I mean LOADS of activities on offer...boules, crabbing, face painting...the list is endless. Key fact #2: our kids are 5 to 8 years old, this was the perfect age for club. Any older and this may perhaps not suit only because the staff have to cater for all. At other holidays we've had kids clubs with computer games etc but the club here was much more activity based (inside and outside) . Worth noting if you have a fortnight addict on your hands. Don't bother taking towels... The beach towels are collectable at the beach bars at both sites. We could have saved loads of luggage space knowing this! Speaking of towels and sun beds, people do reserve but we were there end of August and there were some spare. Don't panic. Food in both restaurants is lovely and in the most part the same. Served from 08.00 to 10.00, 13.00 to 14.30 and 19.00 to 21.00. Expect Greek salads, delicious fresh meat, fish, pasta, kids pasta etc, fresh fruit, yoghurt, honey. Yum. If you want a huge variety/50 different dishes, you'll be disappointed, but if you want yummy fresh food, then happy days. Key fact #3: crepes and a fridge full of sandwiches, fruit and cake are served in both bars 11. 00 to 13.00 and 16.00 to 18.00. Ice cream is available all day. Great for the kids to snack on. Pools were both lovely. KBR1 was warmer and by the beach. Lovely little pool for little ones. KBR2 was more sedate and cool but still just as accommodating for the kids and their games. There is also an inside pool attached to the (private and a tad expensive) spa. Cold but great and calm and quiet. We read reviews on the beach and expected the worst...but it was just fine. Sandy in parts, rocky in others. This just added to the fun where our kids could go crabbing and the fish nibble your feet. Wasted many hours crab and glass hunting. Take a walk down as far as the little bridge and there's a lovely cool inlet after breakfast (ps. There is a fast current here... And is deep, watch the kids). Other things of note... A slightly old looking arcade but really enjoyed by the kids and only €1 for most games where they win every time. There's a mini market on site which is super for cheap lilos etc (€4.90 for a lilo and €8-€10 for a ring) and fake perfume etc and also a supermarket up the road 3 minutes on foot for a change of scenery. We went to Chania via private taxi booked through the hotel on the day. Lovely restaurants in the harbour, loads of coffee shops and markets to look round. Great for a day out. Key fact #4: public toilets in Greece are still holes in the ground. Prepare yourself and little ones for this...it was quite an adventure! Special mentions 200% deserved are to: The entertainment crew... KELLY and JOHN at the kids clubs were just amazing. They were great with the kids, and clearly love their jobs. Find them and say hello, your kids will adore them by the end. We couldn't thank them enough for getting our kids involved and out and about as much as they were. The pool bar crew... CRISTINA and THENASSIS. They both met you with an amazing smile for the whole holiday and make the meanest cocktails around. Go and say hello and you will not go far wrong. The animators round the pool... EVA was always sorting zumba, aqua fitness and water polo for the adults and kids alike. Such great energy and generally a lovely lady happy to chat with the family. And the restaurant crew... GEORGE in the KBR2 restaurant sorted us a large table for 12 for every meal and was generally a welcoming, accommodating and funny guy the whole time. Thanks too to the crepe maker extraordinaire at the pool bar, whose name I didn't catch. Beyond all of the above... Everyone was so helpful, friendly and spoke excellent English. They couldn't help us enough throughout the whole holiday. Plenty of jokes and games for the kids and adults. Kiani Beach deserves a pat on the back... Go and you won't regret it.
