They advertised a Sunday Tournament. A knock out. The buy-in was $150.00, $50 going to the knock out. I inquired about the game a day before the game and the poker room super told me 60 players or more. I thought GREAT! Show up the next day, pay the entry at the cashier window and then go to the poker room where I see only 3 tables set-up .I'm like WTF! OH, the lady at the poker desk says, "you are an alternate...#52. So, over 60 entries, 10 players at a table. Really? I ask for a refund and was told NO! Make a long story short, by the time I was seated (about 4 hours after the start of the game) I had ,less than 2 Big Blinds, !! What they are doing with the Sunday game is highly unethical IMO and I've played in a number of live poker rooms over the years. I've never seen anything so obviously unethical/dishonest as what I experienced at Grand Falls poker room. Otherwise it's a nice place. Golf course looks GREAT!!

This hotel/ casino has a new feel to it. It is only 10 years old. We received tokens for the casino and we won T shirts! It was disappointing that the buffet was closed on Wednesday. The food in the Big Drop Cafe was good and reasonable. The pool is an oasis - so pretty and the big screen tv playing music videos adds an ambiance of Vegas. The golf course is stunning and the waterfalls are so charming that we requested a room with a view of the falls which we were granted! The room is the real treasure. Everything is first class from the glass shower to the real coffee cup and coffee pot in the room.

Room Tip: Ruthie’s the high end restaurant was pricey. Be prepared to spend $100 for two people.

Upon arrival to our room, there was trash on one of the chair, a dirty towels on the chair on the patio, a used bandaid, gum on the floor. The coffee bar area was dusty. The bathroom counter was covered in soap scum. The back ledge of the bath counter was covered with dust. When I tried to call for service rang 20 times, no answer. Went down to talk to front desk about getting someone to clean it while we were at dinner. He said there was no one in housekeeping, because they don’t clean everyday. I asked if someone could come in the morning, he said he would try to get that done. Nice little racket they have going, don’t they don’t have to pay staff to clean rooms everyday while guests are in them, but still charge outrageous price for the room. Oh and if you have room with balcony their WiFi does not work outside ☹️

I've requested information three times for vegetarian or vegan options at any of their eating places within the resort. A month has passed and I still haven't received a response. We will plan our convention elsewhere.

The visit got off to a rocky start with an unfriendly welcome by the woman at reception. Not exactly the type of person you want welcoming guests to your hotel. But at least after a very smoky walk through the casino floor to my hotel room (only way to get to your room) I found the room to be decorated nicely and my kids really enjoyed the pool area. What was completely shocking however, and made me question how I could be paying so much for the hotel room was the complete lack of any room cleaning services! The hotel has decided to use Covid as an excuse for there being no room cleaning - yet surprisingly nowhere else in the hotel were Covid measures in place (eg no consistent mask wearing, an open buffet, no hand sanitizing stations, no recommendations for social distancing, etc). I get it that Covid has hit the tourism industry hard and times are tough, so they are trying to cut costs where possible with reduced staff numbers. But the bottom line is that unless you are offering discounts to guests, you cannot charge what the hotel charges (upwards of $200 per night) and not clean the hotel rooms daily! With vaccination roll outs where they stand in the US, it is no longer acceptable for a hotel to remove one of the key services it offers to guests staying multiple nights. I asked multiple times to have my room cleaned and was told every time that it was not possible. Until the hotel either drops it’s rates significantly or gets with the cleaning program, don’t pay the money to stay here. You can get much better service at other hotels in the area - plus much friendly front desk staff! Management needs to really rethink how it is approaching business in a time where the tourism industry needs to be at the top of its game to survive.
