We were there four people, but only I had a "small" food. I like salad very much so I ordered one. This one was no tasty at all. Nothing well on this. No to order a salad at this restaurant. The restaurant is more suitable for local food like duck, cabbage or dumplings etc. The area or view is outstanding! The service is friendly, but slow ( no much people).
We really enjoying our holiday here, the area is great for childrens activity, with playgrounds, animal farm and horse run area. There is also wind mill with historical exhibition and really great restaurant with traditional czech meals and kind waiters ;)
The bathroom had no window (despite external wall) nor ventilation and it stank when we got in. The layout was unbelievably bad, despite ample room size could not get out of the shower cabin if there was somebody standing at the wash basin. To go from reception to the room, you have to go through the door marked WC. Indeed you go past the toilets down a pitch dark corridor (window through the wall facing the garden was clearly considered luxury) to go in the garden and then up external staircase. There were hundred horrible tiny insects settling on you if you sat at the garden tables. First I thought it was specs of ash, until I noticed they move and tickle..... Great place to eat........
Bukovany has a number of terraced cottages and one little 'chata' or remote cottage at the back of the complex. We stayed in the Chata and we were really glad we did, very cute but only one large open plan bedroom upstairs with two beds. Came with grill and garden furniture. There's a supermarket about 5km away and it's convenient for lots of local attractions. The restaurant was very good, just be sure there are no weddings going on during the weekend you are staying otherwise you'll have to make alternative food arrangements. On site is horse riding, a small playground, windmill tours, mini golf and a pool shared with the complex. The staff are really really lovely. It's dog and family friendly, with a kids club at 7pm every evening. It does have wifi but unfortunately we came a week after a big storm so it wasn't working. We really enjoyed our stay. Would go again.…
We went there for a workshop for two days. The rooms were clean, nice with all the amenities needed. There was a full tour with the mill with a funny and knowledgeable guide. The restaurant got typical products from meat to cheese and serves vegetarian dishes if needed. The wine tasting event took place in their cellar with the help of a local guy translating in English. The wines were quite nice and the organization was excellent. The workshop took place in a dedicated big room with a projector, enough space for 50 people and all the refreshments needed. Fantastic place and nice people; bring something against the wind!!
I am regularly visit Bukovanský mlýn some years. it is very interesting place with decor rustic. Food in this restaurant is mostly excellent, I prefer regional specialties there. Staff have always also been very pleasent.
We regularly visit Bukovansky mlyn every time we visit the nearby village of Sobulky to see family. Service is good but dry (standard Czech service as far as I have experienced). Food is excellent, of great value and always served with enough speed to know it has been prepared properly but without a long wait. Staff have always also been very accommodating altering meals for me. Little English is spoken but English menus are available and I can always get by with my limited amount of Czech language. The decor is rustic with heavy wood tables & chairs and typically Czech decoration. In the cellar there is a beautiful brick vaulted space with wine cellar for tastings. We always make a point to visit every time we are close enough and actually plan to hold our wedding reception here next year. Grounds are great with an addition if stables. Lots for children to do. Although we haven't stayed in the accommodation we have had a look at it. It does seem basic in style but then it's likely the best in the area.…
If you want to enjoy great meal in the local area, definitely visit Bukovanský mlyn. We went there for dinner with my husband and had a soup and main daily menu - it was delicious. We recommend the typical meals for the local area, the house wine was also very nice, staff friendly, the showed us the wine cellar. Check the programme over there - they have regular wine degustation. Friendly prices for the quality and big portions!
