We really enjoyed our time here. Coming in on Christmas Eve we treated to a wonderful Christmas morning breakfast. The accommodations offers breakfast included from their bakery downstairs. Treat yourself to something warm although the pastry options change daily and they are so good too.

When rating it is only fair to compare apples to apples. When looking for a place to stay while on a business trip I look for comfort, cleanliness and simplicity. At Carl’s Inn I get it all. Plus a lot more. Clean comfortable rooms and facilities. Making a reservation is simple (call them direct). The hotel is over a bakery and a grocery store. In the grocery store you can get excellent sandwiches and pastries ( fresh from their own bakery). I highly recommend the blueberry muffin. Breakfast is included and you receive a voucher for a sandwich, pastry, juice and coffee. Wifi is good. Kitchenette in the rooms have a microwave, coffee maker and a small fridge. The tv reception is not great but this is an issue all over Sint Maarten anywhere I stayed. There is one thing that I must mention as it could be an issue for certain guests. You have to walk up two flights of stairs. There is no elevator. When I compare Carl’s to other comparable lodgings I rate them 5 stars. Even compared to supposedly swanky hotels. And that is mainly because of the staff. Everyone is super friendly and efficient. I consider a stay at Carl’s Inn to be very enjoyable.

Okay, it is in a warehouse district and not very appealing from the outside if you can get over that then you’ll love it. Cheap, decent size room for 2 adults 2 kids, rooms are on the top floor with a nice little courtyard. You will never confuse this with a resort but the price is right and if you are spending a night or two waiting on a flight then you found your place.

I am finishing my final day in St. Martin shortly but could not leave before my attempt of paying tribute for a perfect stay.Clean yes.Comfortable yes,but the whole experience of the "unique inn" has shown true. The staff and the vibe truly local and the benifit of the bakery below made this a truthfully must try for anyone.

Laid back, cozy and pleasant. It gives you the "at home" feeling! It's location give you easy access to St. Maarten's "shop 'til you drop", and its diverse dining experience. The staff are engaging and very helpful.

Albeit in a residential industrial area and on first impressions a bit dated the overall experience was very good. A small establishment with very comfortable and spacious rooms. The breakfast via a voucher from the adjacent supermarket was very good with a cooked baguette with various fillings, a pastry, coffee or tea and a fruit drink, great. Although we only stayed one night we were very impressed and would not hesitate to frequent again.

We stayed here two nights prior to transferring to Oyster Bay for a week. The hotel is in an industrial part in Cole bay near Simpson Bay Area fairly close to airport. Although the area doesn’t seem real nice, the hotel was a pleasant surprise. The staff was friendly and the rooms were nice. They were clean, large TV, good coffee maker, small fridge and small microwave. Furniture was nice, although beds were a bit hard. I thought the room was nicer than many more luxury type hotel rooms we’ve stayed at on the island. It also included breakfast which was sandwiches, juice and a pastry from Carl’s and Sons Unique bakery. They had breakfast in the courtyard Sunday morning which wasn’t as good as bakery but still good. I’d definitely recommend this hotel for a more affordable place to stay.

We participated in Heineken Regatta and stayed at Carl’s Unique Inn! The Clean and comfortable room we lived in provided us with all what we need: good price, good location to Simpson bay marina and Marigot, big terrace in the room and a coffeemaker to drink a cup of coffee in the morning that made a good start to each day of our stay! Sometimes we had some problems with hot water (it was too hot or absent at all), but nevertheless it didn’t spoil the impression. WiFi worked excellent, there are enough parking lots. So, good option of accommodation 👍

I am so happy i spend only one night. Is a 20us taxi ride from the airport and there is nothing in walking distance. Wifi was not working neither the credit card machine. The toilet was in bad condition. The only positive was the very friendly receptionist upon arrival and very friendly. For 80 usd I would expect something more.

If you are looking for a place off the beaten path with reasonable rates, good service and still close to town, this is the place. Hotel is 12 minutes or a $15 taxi ride from the airport. Industrial neighbourhood, with several grocery stores a few minutes walk. Room was average, matteress was worn but comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful. It is about a 10 minute walk to town if you wish to eat at restaurants on the main drag. I liked it here because it was quiet, moderate room rates and different-i.e. not touristy. I will stay again on my next trip to SXM.
