Don't recommend the ownership is not friendly and the facility needs new updates. Not very kid friendly like they claim to be either and have seen people beyond wasted trying to start fights with other camp goers.

MCR has about RV 90 sites; looked like the majority are for permanent/seasonal use with maybe 25 pull-thru sites for daily camping. Our full-hookup site was very long, fairly level with a picnic table, firepit and decent grassy area between sites. Most of the trees are too scattered or short for much shade. The campground had wifi service available, but not free. MCR has a pool but there is an extra charge to use it, a camp store, laundry, playground, dump stations. They also had 5 A/C'ed cabins to rent. You're about 3 miles from Hazleton and 8 from Independence but there's about 30 Amish shops (bulk groceries, bakeries, furniture, quilts, etc) just down the gravel roads from the campground. Occasionally, depending upon wind direction, a slight confinement smell could be detected. See their website for info on rate, facilities, directions, etc.

My wife and I have been Seasonal Campers at this camp ground for 9 years now. This RV park is located in the heart of Amish Country, it is a family friendly campground. Morwood offers theme weekends and kid activities each week, we were there this last week when they celebrated Prom with a great dance, even crowned a prom king and queen. They offer several full hookup sites, also have cabins to rent and sites for tents. Morwood has a heated pool, sand volleyball court, mini golf and a old fashion hay Saturday nights. This is truly a FAMILY first campground. We look forward to spending several more years there!

The overall grounds are awesome. The owner is horrible. My husband and I couldn't figure out how to get out of the campground after staying for the night. We ended up taking a road that said do not enter. The owner walked in front of our truck forcing us to stop and asked us if we could read. My husband proceeded to tell him that we were lost. The man continued to badger us until we pulled out. He was yelling after Us as we left. Who runs a facility this way? I'll never be back that's for sure.

Morwood is a quiet and roomy RV park, surrounded by the green fields of Iowa's Amish country. It was surprising to find such a superior facility in an out-of-the-way corner of the Midwest. The hosts are very friendly and service-oriented, providing plenty of local attraction advice. Their small store with sundries and RV parts is especially welcome, as the town and nearest retail are a few miles away. The facilities are very well maintained, with long, level gravel RV pads and good separation between sites. The grounds are well-groomed and green. Each has full hookups, fire rings and picnic tables. We camped in a small (22 ft) travel trailer, but they have plenty of room for 35-40 foot big rigs. There are also about a half-dozen small resort cabins, but we didn't check them out. Paid wireless internet access is through a third-party provider. This service is new as of July 2013 - we were some of the first customers - so we had fast, reliable WiFi access, in a region of Iowa where our 3G cell phone coverage was spotty. The park is very family-oriented, with playgrounds and a nice pool facility. Our stay was during the middle of the week, so they were only about 1/4 full, even in the height of August summer vacations. However, Morwood has a really big seasonal weekend following, and is reportedly full every Fri and Sat. It is about a 1 hour drive the Field of Dreams Movie Site in Dyersville, and the nearest larger city, Dubuque, is about 1.5 hours away. The town of Independence, about 15 minutes drive south, has the nearest restaurants and retail. Great place for a quiet getaway or a pleasant transient stay.
