We recently a week at Sampson springs campgrounds. The owners Reg and Lori are two of the nicest and interesting people you will ever meet. We had the whole grounds to our self so it was nothing but peace and quiet. Lots of good things to do in Decorah, we never did get to see everything we had planned on.... More

Although this campground was very clean and quiet it has no dump station; it's restroom facilities, also clean, but with no grab bars outside of the showers made it very difficult to safely access. There was a large step up to get into the shower itself, I almost fell getting out. No reception for phones (thankfully no emergency situations), and... More

We spent a week at Sampson Springs. The campground is very clean and the shower/ restrooms are excellent. The owners checked on all every day and hosted a get together at 5pm. They are down to earth people and really like visiting with you. I dont have anything negitive to say, just positives about this place. We will be going... More

If you want to completely get away, this is the place. Deep into the country, no cell or Internet service. Unfortunately no dumping of septic either.. just water and electric, and the water is centrally located, not at each site.

The owners are very nice, working on a new shower house and in the process of building a fishing pond. I highly recommend this campground if you... More

Sampson Springs campground is located about 10 miles SE of Decorah on Highway 9 and 2 miles north on 133rd Avenue which is a graveled road. All RV sites are graveled with some pull-thrus. The 10 electric and water RV back-in sites along the west side by the road have shade trees. The sites have plenty of room for slide-outs,... More
