This is a really nice Holiday Inn Express. The 5 stars is for this tier of hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was recently updated and had plenty of plugs & USB ports for devices. The coffee maker is a Keurig.
Beds & pillows were very comfortable and actual queen size.
Breakfast was good quality. Sitting area was small but definitely manageable. I will definitely stay here again next time thru.

My husband made our reservation over the phone, and Alyssa was very helpful, she was also really good to us when we checked out Sunday morning. We checked in Saturday night and Ryan at the front desk was an absolute sweetheart, he was so so nice.
Our room was on the second floor, all of the finishes and furniture look updated and very clean. Our room was great! Mini fridge, microwave and Keurig with coffee pods was a nice touch. Nice comfy king sized bed with good pillows and linens. Large bathroom had a tub/shower, plenty of linens and even a hair dryer. The room was fresh and clean, not stale, and not overly smelly from cleaners/air freshener type smells.
Breakfast the next morning was a super surprise. Katrina was the one who prepared breakfast and it was amazing! Biscuits and gravy, bacon and cheese omelets and they were really good. There was a ton of other food also, cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs, a pancake machine and cereal plus more.
We didn’t dig into the other amenities that it had to offer there, but the basics that we used were perfect. We will definitely be back when we are in town again.

Great Location overlooking Noelridge Park, to Mall and restaurants. Comfy beds. HOT breakfast, and Very Friendly Staff. Check-in front desk Betsy was very nice, welcoming and thanked us for staying with them. Extended our stay a few days;
Betsy recognized us, asked if all going great by our last name, VIP treatment! Hot breakfast buffet server, Katrina, was very nice and did a great job. Marcinda, room maid, was nice, aware if covid rules and gave us towels and thanked us for long stay.
Nice pool. Another front desk clerk (maybe 50-60) and breakfast server (over 50) were also very friendly and good people too! This hotel is Excellent and would hire lots of them if I was not retired! We saw lots of areas cleaned and felt very safe. We are over age 65 and our first hotel stay since early 2020. We will be back!

Cedar Rapids is a usual stop on my drives between my hometown and where I currently live. I had stayed here before and things were great, so I booked again. This time around was nothing like the first. The hotel was undergoing renovations, which was fine and did not really impact my stay. I stayed here to literally just take a shower and sleep, and the only thing I was able to do comfortably was shower. There were very loud guests on my floor. Every time a door was slammed, it rattled mine, which seemed odd since the entire hotel had been through renovations, why wouldn't they make sure doors don't rattle whenever someone else opens/closes theirs. People continued to slam doors and shout in the hallway after midnight, which prompted a call to the front desk. I'm not sure I'd stay here again given that experience. I literally wanted two very simple things from this stay, and this hotel could only accommodate one of those things.

The grounds and facility were clean and well kept. The rooms were equipped with fridge, microwave, and coffee pot, which are critical for most hockey parents, and those morning cinnamon buns are ohhhhh so good. The team had so much fun at this location, and they didn't even use the pool.....
It was nice to see a fridge and microwave when many hotels are cutting back on these features. This was greatly appreciated with being 3+hrs from home and having kids, as well as being I travel semi-regularly for my work, this becomes a welcomed feature of a hotel. Thank you HIE/IHG.

So many things went wrong with this stay. I booked a room for my family, 2 adults and 2 kids. We were checked into a a room with only a king bed and some sort of lounge chair. I went to the clerk to ask about a room change and was told, along with another customer, that there was only 1 room left. We would have to book it and pay the full price. My family was able to manage with 3 people in the king. The other family asked for a spare blanket, only to be told there wasn’t one! How can a hotel not have a spare blanket for guests? The room was disgusting once I looked at it. There was no where else to stay near our event , but I regret not staying somewhere else. Dried urine on the toilet, stained comforter, dead bugs and dust under the mini fridge. The hot breakfast was just a bunch of microwave Jimmy Dean sandwiches.
Thankfully I was able to get the rate down to the actual cost of that room. Had I not asked I would have been billed 170$ for a 90$ room.
I have had such good luck with Holiday Inn. This was a supreme disappointment.

At a time like this most hotels are ramping up on keeping things clean. This hotel on the other hand is failing at even the basic idea of clean.
Checking in everyone was very pleasant and I believe the manager was at the desk. The manager obviously has no idea what is happening upstairs. Dirty floors used gloves and 4 vacuums left in the middle of the hallway. I thought nothing of it because they were still cleaning. Nope, in the morning everything was still there.
The room itself had crumbs everywhere and the to include green leafs that covered the desk chair.
This place could be good but I doubt it will be any time soon.

We stayed here for 5 nights while visiting friends in the area, we had not stayed here before but wanted to say how much we enjoyed it. The room was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was varied and there was complimentary hot drinks throughout the day. The hotel was decorated for Halloween while we were there and one evening hot Apple cider and homemade pumpkin cookies were offered which I thought was a nice touch! We would definetly stay again.
