The grounds and facility were clean and well kept. The rooms were equipped with fridge, microwave, and coffee pot, which are critical for most hockey parents, and those morning cinnamon buns are ohhhhh so good. The team had so much fun at this location, and they didn't even use the pool..... It was nice to see a fridge and microwave when many hotels are cutting back on these features. This was greatly appreciated with being 3+hrs from home and having kids, as well as being I travel semi-regularly for my work, this becomes a welcomed feature of a hotel. Thank you HIE/IHG.

This is a really nice Holiday Inn Express. The 5 stars is for this tier of hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was recently updated and had plenty of plugs & USB ports for devices. The coffee maker is a Keurig. Beds & pillows were very comfortable and actual queen size. Breakfast was good quality. Sitting area was small but definitely manageable. I will definitely stay here again next time thru.

The Luther College Men's & Women's bowling teams stayed here for a bowling tournament. Check-in was fast and easy, the breakfast received high complements from the athletes, and we were treated very well. They even had joining rooms easily marked which the athletes took advantage of. Excellent!

Stayed at this property 9/9/23 for one night. The bathroom was dirty. Toilet and shower curtain looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned. The staff was not helpful at all, asked for a phone number to get assistance with my reservation and she said the number she had was for the hotel and I would have to look it up myself. Would not recommend.

Dear Pleifert05, I understand you are upset about not being able to transfer your reservation to the other hotel in town where your friend was staying. We aren't associated with the other hotel. You also booked on Priceline. I would suggest that next time you and your friend want to stay at the same hotel, that you book directly with that property and not through a third party. This way you are guaranteed staying together. I disappointed to read that you would say such things about our location because of an issue with the third party you booked with. Terrible customer service and poorly managed. I have been a long-time loyal Holiday Inn Express hotel fan. However, thanks to THIS location, I won't be staying at Holiday Inns any longer. I am already working to cancel my future stays with Holiday Inn on this trip. The IHG corporate office tried to argue on my behalf to no avail. I will not be staying here any longer.

The best hotel i have stayed at by far!! front desk staff was very professional and handled all of our needs with no complaint!! Rooms were spotless and even well dusted which is usually an overlooked issue. To say im very impressed is an understatement! thank you holiday inn i will be back!!!!!!

We stayed here for 5 nights while visiting friends in the area, we had not stayed here before but wanted to say how much we enjoyed it. The room was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was varied and there was complimentary hot drinks throughout the day. The hotel was decorated for Halloween while we were there and one evening hot Apple cider and homemade pumpkin cookies were offered which I thought was a nice touch! We would definetly stay again.

The Saturday night front desk guy is currently on a power trip. There were 4 of us sitting in the lobby watching a football game. One guy moved a chair so he could see the TV better and the front desk worker went on an absolute power trip. He yelled to move the chair back, told him he would call the cops if he didn’t move the chair. The guy quietly asked why he couldn’t move the chair so he could see the tv and the front desk guy lost it. He threatened to call the cops, call his manager and then lied to his manager about the number of people in the lobby. He told her the whole team was getting rowdy while it was 4 adults and 2 kids, quietly watching a football game. I have never in my life witnessed such awful customer service like this. Decent enough hotel but this kid clearly needs a lesson in customer service. I hope he figures out life soon.…

My husband made our reservation over the phone, and Alyssa was very helpful, she was also really good to us when we checked out Sunday morning. We checked in Saturday night and Ryan at the front desk was an absolute sweetheart, he was so so nice. Our room was on the second floor, all of the finishes and furniture look updated and very clean. Our room was great! Mini fridge, microwave and Keurig with coffee pods was a nice touch. Nice comfy king sized bed with good pillows and linens. Large bathroom had a tub/shower, plenty of linens and even a hair dryer. The room was fresh and clean, not stale, and not overly smelly from cleaners/air freshener type smells. Breakfast the next morning was a super surprise. Katrina was the one who prepared breakfast and it was amazing! Biscuits and gravy, bacon and cheese omelets and they were really good. There was a ton of other food also, cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs, a pancake machine and cereal plus more. We didn’t dig into the other amenities that it had to offer there, but the basics that we used were perfect. We will definitely be back when we are in town again.…

My wife and I stayed three nights while visiting friends in Hiawatha. The location is convenient; close to highways and a few minutes' drive from downtown Cedar Rapids. The hotel appeared to have been recently renovated, so the rooms were clean and comfortable. The Wifi strength and speed was decent in our room (I successfully did a day's remote work from the hotel without interruption). Breakfast had pastries, fruit and a couple of hot options. Parking is available right out front. There's a small indoor pool, which we saw but didn't use. One thing: if you book through a third party like hotels.com they won't let you claim IHG reward points (I tried), you have to book directly. But you can earn hotels.com rewards instead, so consider which loyalty program is best for your circumstances. For the price bracket and hotel class, it was what we expected and we were very happy; we'll probably stay again next time we visit.…
