The staff couldn't have been nicer nor more helpful. The room and the lobby were beautifully decorated. The beds were wonderfully cozy. Really fantastic EXCEPT a party of 5 girls came in around 2 a.m. and were laughing and talking. They were not being overly loud but the walls were so thin that it sounded like they were in our...

Hello and thank you for your nice review. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay but do apologize that you were kept awake because of some "chatty" women near you. It is impossible to provide a totally quiet experience in a hotel (new or old) and that is why we supply earplugs for our guests. I wish you would...

I loved this hotel. It is just a lovely vintage-feel place to stayed that is very updated with very nice amenities. It has just enough vintage furnishing to be cute retro but everything you don't want to be "retro" intact. I was a little disappointed with the breakfast but I will be back.

This is the prime spot to stay when visiting Cedar Falls. It is located near several restaurants and bars. It is an older hotel but well kept. If you want the older feel, stay in the main building; if you want a retro trendy room ask for the motor lodge.

The hotel is a nice old place. The room and bed were comfortable. We slept well each night of our four night stay. I thought the place a little pricey. There were some minor maintenance issues. At the time of our stay they were installing an elevator for apartments to be built on the fourth floor. Noisy and dirty during...

Thanks so much for your patronage. We certainly apologize for any inconvenience caused to you by our current construction. We are making every effort to provide a comfortable experience during this time and are making every effort to provide an alternate room to minimize the inconvenience if a guest requests this option. All in all, I think it is a pretty decent building / property both inside the reception as well as the hotel. The Blackhawk is a beautiful old hotel with many original appointments. Right on Main Street with terrific shops and restaurants just steps away (don't miss Cup o' Joe across the street for breakfast!). We stayed in a 2 queen bed room. This is an OLD hotel so appreciate the charms and overlook some of the quirks. Bathrooms are very large...

I guess there is a limit to how much money can go into a restoration such as this but the painting in the rooms could be better. Also if louver blinds are used they need to be dusted. Even the window sill is covered in dust. Otherwise lobby and furniture is excellent. Bed comfortable and bathroom spotless. Wish I could...

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay in July and we do apologize for the dust. Our staff does make every effort to remove the dust but with our current construction, it is nearly impossible to totally eliminate it.
