We loved our stay at the cabins by the lake. We rented 3 and had a great time. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It is in a good location, within walking distance to grocery stores and gas stations. The rooms were clean and well furnished.

I took my family here for a murder mystery dinner theater. I think it is more geared toward couples but we still had a good time. The Inn itself is beautiful, elegant, and magestic. If you are looking for a unique experience or to do something different, take a look at their calendar of events. The breakfast on Sunday morning...

We recently stayed at the Mont Rest Inn for one of the murder mystery packages. This was so much fun! Check-in started with a plate of home-made chocolate chip cookies and a tour of the many beautiful rooms in the home. They were nearly complete with decorating for Christmas, so that made everything even more amazing. Every guest room has...

A group 9 friends drove to Mont Rest for the Mystery Dinner and a one night stay. This was my first experience with staying at a B&B and mystery dinner. It will be difficult to match this experience. It was wonderful. Our hostess Naomi was awesome and there for our every need. The decorations in the dining room were gorgeous....

Stayed here on a last minute trip. Called a half hour ahead and manager said come on up! This house is amazing and impeccably clean and well-run. From the robes, chocolates and lovely appointed rooms to the unbelievable full breakfast. ..it was a great stay. ...truly the nicest B&B we've ever stayed in.

I can't say enough good things about this B&B. My husband and I attended their murder mystery dinner and we had a spectacular time. The Inn was very beautiful inside and out. The innkeepers were amazing and very personable. We had a full sit down breakfast the following morning and the food was out of this world! I wish we...

We were sent here by my mother in law for our first wedding anniversary, and she couldn't have picked a better place. From the second we drove up, we were just in awe of how beautiful the area and the home was. In exploring the home, it's beautiful every twist and turn you take. We did the murder mystery dinner,...

Everything about this place was better than I expected. Beautifully restored, nice extras like a double shower and whirlpool bath. Breakfast was plentiful and perfect, and the Mystery dinner was a hoot. Very friendly atmosphere.

They have a FULL breakfast. Huge cinnamon rolls, thank goodness they were cut in half. Two egg dishes, meat, potatoes, fruit, juice, coffee. All were very good. When we arrived they were in the beginning of a Titanic dinner. All the people involved were dressed up for the era. Huge table with the Titanic in the middle. They also have murder...

This was an impulse decision. We were in Galena, Illinois for a couple of nights and had a day to spend on the way to southern Illinois and Iowa. I found Mont Rest Inn on the web. It is a old mansion turned into a B&B. It has a dozen themed rooms, induding several in a carriage house connected to...
