There are not enough superlatives to describe our recent stay at West Baden Springs Resort, April 6-9. 2024. Like so many others from all over the country, we wanted to experience the solar eclipse in the most memorable way possible. And we did, thanks to the outstanding management and staff at West Baden. To a person, everyone my travel companion and I engaged was personable, courteous, knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. People like Heather and Amanda in Sinclair’s, Melinda in Ballard’s, Jonathan in Ballard’s who went above and beyond the call of duty to insure us a seat on a very busy evening in the Atrium, Jesse on your valet staff, and Sara, housekeeping supervisor. There were so many others and I apologize for not remembering all their names. I also want to express our appreciation and enjoyment of the live music in the Atrium during our stay. It was a trio of superb musicians playing popular songs. I don’t know if the trio had a name, but they provided soothing and beautiful music. Artistically, they were fabulous. Yes, the setting both inside and outside the resort is impressive, but the people whom we met every day and who made our stay so enjoyable are what we cherish the most. Honestly, we didn’t want to leave! If I were given the choice of a week’s stay in Cancun or a week’s stay at West Baden Springs resort in French Lick, Indiana, I would pick West Baden Springs. Don’t bother to flip the coin! We look forward to a return trip as soon as possible. P.S. The only thing that would have made our trip better, if that were even possible, would be golf at the Pete Dye and/or the Donald Ross golf courses. Perhaps next time! P.S.S. You might want to consider either adding an additional grab bar in the bathtub/shower, or better yet, convert to a walk-in shower/bath. Otherwise the room, a king suite, was impeccable.

A perfect family getaway. Beautiful facility, impeccably maintained, excellent staff. We took our adult children and our grandchildren here over spring break and had an excellent time. The pool was a perfect focal point for the children and the atrium was always a great destination for the adults. Excellent restaurants and attractions onsite plus fun destinations nearby (including wild animal safari/zoo and go karting.) Our group gives this resort a very high recommendation and we all look forward to returning.

Every part of our stay was excellent. I took my daughter here for a getaway, before the birth of her next baby. The service and follow up ahead of our stay - and the service while at the hotel exceeded my expectations. This includes everyone we encountered - desk clerk, housekeeping staff, restaurant staff, spa staff - you name it - everyone was friendly and provided excellent service. We took the historic tours of both hotels - we highly recommend investing the time in these tours. Our room was wonderful, well appointed with comfortable beds, a large bathroom with everything we needed - and who knew that a balcony room overlooking the atrium meant we could open the doors and enjoy live piano music every evening being played in the atrium?! Food was excellent - shuttles back and forth between the hotels were great - I can't say enough about the wonderful, historic hotel!! Book your stay now!

The whole experience was great from the excellent food to the jazz in the library, the turn of the century vibe and impeccable service makes this a new regular stop for an unforgettable stay. Wish we could have done the hikes, weather permitting, maybe next time.

The West Baden Springs Hotel is a truly amazing, one-of-a-kind, hotel. Everything about this hotel is at the five-star level, and beyond. The property itself, with its huge atrium, is an out-of-this-world experience in and of itself. The guest rooms are large, luxuriously appointed, and quiet. The staff are excellent, and service is top-notch. A stay at the West Baden Springs Hotel is an amazing experience that should be on everyone's bucket list.

Have stayed at this hotel previously and always enjoyed my trips there. But, given the way the hotel is now run, I will never go back. This review is about a cancelled reservation for an April stay. I made a reservation months in advance. The confirmed reservation had the usual cancellation policy, 48 hours in advance of arrival date. Approximately 5 weeks before my intended stay in April 2024, I received an email that the hotel would be charging my credit card the full price, non-refundable 30 days in advance. I contacted the hotel and asked about this. They confirmed they were going to charge the full amount 30 days in advance, contrary to their own cancellation policy, a policy that my reservation included. They gave me a laughable excuse that prepayment was to ensure a room for me. And here I always thought that is what a reservation was for lol. I cancelled the reservation prior to them charging my credit card for the full stay, non-refundable. Interestingly, when I went to the hotel’s website to make the cancellation, my reservation still showed the 48 hour cancellation policy. I took a dated screenshot of it at that time. It is a shame that management has chosen to operate in such a manner. As their own reservation policy means nothing to them, and they will unilaterally change it at their whim, I was not going to risk a 6 hour drive there only to learn they had changed something else, such as rate, room type, or something else. I find it incomprehensible that a hotel publishes, both in general and within a specific reservation, a cancellation policy, then blatantly and intentionally ignores it.

Room Tip: Hotel is nice based on previous stays. Just don’t trust them to honor their own reservation policy.

West Baden Springs Hotel is a beautiful place to visit. The restaurants are fabulous and very accommodating. The staff are excellent and so friendly. It’s a must when you are in Southern Indiana. French Lick Springs is very nice too but we did not stay there. Great experience.

First class experience from the moment I arrived at valet to the moment I had to sadly pull away from valet, several days later. My first time in French Lick, the breathtaking beauty of West Baden Springs and French Lick are not to be missed. If you want elegant grandeur, top notch service, outstanding food, endless activities, and plenty of ways to relax, this is THE place to go. My countryside view room was abolutely stunning. Gorgeous wallpaper, heavy brocade curtains, a sumptuous settee, leather club chairs, beautiful bathroom, and a luxuriously comfortable bed made it a dream accomodation. I enjoyed breakfasts in Cafe Sinclair - the corned beef hash and breakfast sandwich were outstanding. Justice, in particular, was an excellent server and enhanced my experiences in the dining room. Dinner at Ballard's was equally excellent. The WB kitchen team is SERIOUS about cooking delicious food. I also enjoyed two outstanding dinners at 1875 in French Lick Resort. Elegant service, perfectly prepared steak and seafood - simply perfect. I had the pleasure of meeting Mimi who is an absolute treasure. She made both my 1875 dinners so memorable. I spent an afternoon in the French Lick spa and it was fantastic. Wonderfully relaxing massage and pedicure in beautiful surroundings. Walking the grounds, in the park near West Baden and between both resort porperties, was invigorating and relaxing. I also hiked over to the stables to admire the animals and the stables team was superbly intelligent and very warm. Endless shopping was fantastic in both resorts. The library at West Baden was delightfully quiet and the perfect place to read my book. Live music in the atrium in the evenings with a cocktail was so fun. I experienced first class service everywhere I went and with anyone I spoke to. A few other standouts include the helpful men at valet, the shuttle drivers, and Lou and Cooper at the front desk. I had a five-star experience and cannot wait to go back.

I have traveled a lot. There are few spaces as exhilarating and as calming as the West Baden rotunda. The spa is excellent. (Couples massage). The pool is beautiful. The service is like stepping back 100 years to a different, quieter era. The grounds are a living tribute to preservation. The rooms are a thrilling affront to efficiency. My wife is taking her mother next month.

We scheduled a stay at West Baden to celebrate a milestone birthday that included a wonderful massage at the Spa, delicious dinner and listening to a Jazz Trio and singer Sarah Stivers. We booked the room that overlooks the atrium and we were so glad we did. Magical stay creating lifetime memories!
