$180 + for one night and no hot water. I have waited 3 days for management to respond to both our survey and my email. My husband & I were in town for a concert on Sept 11. We were initially very impressed with the hotel & the staff. There was a beautiful jet tub that I was so excited to use after the concert. When we checked in, I noticed that there was little to no hot water when washing my hands. I dismissed it as I thought many people were checking in at that time. When we got back to our room at 11pm, I wanted to take a bath NO HOT WATER. We let it run for several minutes as I was determined to enjoy the tub. It was like sitting in rain water. We had to leave early the next day, and my husband went to take a shower- same thing. no hot water. We filled out the survey and mentioned this, and I also told the woman at the desk how unhappy we were. She was very dismissive and put all the blame on us. "Why didn't you call down?" Well, because it was 11:30pm by then and we just wanted to go to sleep. "You were on the 4th floor. All rooms on that floor share a hot water source. You shared with room 416. Maybe they used all the water" REALLY?! So if one room wants to take a shower, the other room is just out of luck?! "This is a green hotel" Excuse, Excuse, Excuse. We paid $180 for what was about a 17 hour stay. Unable to take a shower. There was no offer of any compensation whatsoever. We drive 4 hours from Ohio to Wabash at least twice a year to attend shows at the Honeywell. This was our first, and probably last time at Charley Creek. They obviously care more about appearances than they do taking care of customers. I have worked for a major insurance carrier for 20+ years and I know what good customer service is all about. Charley Creek does not.

I found this wonderful hotel while searching on the Landmarks Indiana Website. I surprised my husband, for father's Day, by booking a suite at Charley Creek Inn. The hotel is located in Wabash Indiana, which is only an hour and a half from Indianapolis as well as Chicago. The lobby is an art nouveau restoration and offers a beautiful welcoming to the hotel. All the hotel rooms are named after various VIPs or historical sites and each room has a different interior. We stayed in the Wabash/Erie Canal room #405. This room was very elegant and was furnished with period antiques. It was very spacious and comfortable. The bed was extraordinarily comfortable! The room offered the typical hotel amenities and everything was very clean. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was average. I had the shrimp scampi and my husband had the chicken schnitzel. Our server, Cass, was excellent! The downtown area is still developing but it did offer a few very nice shops. My personal favorite was TinyThreads, a children's store boutique. Wabash has a variety of architecturally historical homes in the downtown area and there is also the historic Roann Covered Bridge. An absolute must see! Landmarks is assisting with limited renovations of six homes within the area and then they will be available for sale. Up the street from the Roann Covered Bridge is a wonderful, reasonably priced antique store, Log Cabin Antiques and a very cute, hometown pizza parlor! The owners of both establishments are worth the visit in themselves. Downtown Wabash and Charley Creek Inn are a great getaway from home.

This little boutique hotel is a refreshing change of pace from the traditional chain hotels. Located in the heart of the charming downtown, it's been lovingly restored to perfection in old world Victorian style, with lots of dark wood, ornate carvings, chandelier in the lobby, and floor to ceiling draperies on the windows. I stayed in a King Superior room which was very spacious, nice furnishings, a large desk, a nice sized bathroom, and great views overlooking the city. By being right downtown it's within handy walking distance to tons of things. The wonderful Visitor's Center is right across the street, a cute little coffee shop is also across the street, lots of boutiques for shopping, the beautiful Eagle Theatre, the Honeywell Center, city parks, and anything you could want are all just minutes away. There is a restaurant on site at the hotel, plus a wine & cheese shoppe, a lounge, and an ice cream and candy shoppe. The second floor overlooks the lobby, so I stayed on the third floor which was much more quiet. Staff were all very nice and helpful, and I had a wonderful stay. There's a place to pull off the street out front to unload luggage, and then a private off-street parking lot on the end of the building that is secured with cameras for your safety. The restaurant seems to stay booked pretty regularly so make reservations ahead of time if you don't want to wait.

Went with a business associate/friend, and had a very pleasant lunch. The facility is comfortably elegant; with an upscale ambiance, one might not expect in a small mid-north Indiana town. Our server, Brandy, was friendly and attentive. The onion soup and lobster bisque were excellent, as were the beets & ricotta salads. Everything was satisfying and tasty. The adjoining hotel and shops are a pleasure to explore before and/or after one's meal. This restaurant is a solid option, for an exceptional dining experience.
